I just had the worst experience at this restaurant ever. .I always have loved it and one of my favs but u must have to go early because I never once had a server come back to the table....no refill on our drinks...the food was cold and old and they wouldnt refill anything even when u ask...I yelled down someone for the check and finally got it and when ask if everything was ok and I complained the server laughed..when I complained to that old hag up front who charged me 28.00 even with me complaining not offering free drinks free Buffett nothing and we r complaining...says its a server problem lol....I said the food was bad...she said I give u four dollar discount if the service was bad dont tip...what??? not to mention another cpl came up with a bug out of the soup complaining not once a server came back and good was cold.....worst service ever..never going back and telling. Everyone I know the same...very disappointed

I met my son for dinner there tonight, after he was told they were pretty good. To be quite frank I was appalled at what I found when I went to the buffet...most of the food available was old and picked through...and then the best stuff disappeared and was never refilled...at 7:15 when they dont close till 9:30...no excuse for that with 2 hours left. The quality of the food available was very poor with a precious few exceptions which when gone they were gone for good. 90% of everything I put on my plate didnt pass the first bite...actually spitting it out into a napkin and leaving the rest where it was. The flavors of most everything were very bland or too much spicing...the scallops were like goodyear rubber, the crab legs were nasty. For the price that they have the audacity to charge it was a blatant insult and neither myself or my son will return...I wouldnt eat that crap for free!!!

WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN!! During lunch, not one but two medium size cockroaches crawled on the wall beside me. How disgusting!!The real kicker is the owner didnt even bother comping the meal. He did apologize but this incident was completely unacceptable. There is no excuse for having an infested cockroach restaurant. We are in the USA and we have to abide by health laws. Unfortunately, China on a whole does not comply with any health regulations for their own people!! I hope to goodness I dont get sick. I will never spend another dime at this restaurant. I wouldnt even let my dog eat from there!!

This is a good place to fill up on your favorite Chinese foods. I order water with lemon as they dont charge for water. The food is generally fresh, although there have been a couple of times when some things seemed to be old, dried up & tough. But as far as value, it is comparable to places nearby. The lady at the desk needs to learn how to be nicer, the waitresses are friendly & keep things picked up & clean & the kitchen staff that refill the bars keep foods rotated well (usually) but could update the labels once in awhile - in english. My familys favorite place for Chinese buffet.

I do a lot of traveling and one of my things is trying different Chinese buffet places. This one is lacking some class and care for the food. The shrimp was dry and wasnt deveined. Many things on the bar looked old and was cold. I did try the chicken broccoli which is what you expect and the pepper steak. I tried a bit of almost everything but wasnt very appetizing. Lastly I was handed my check before I even finished my first plate, very rude and felt rushed. Not from this area and not sure what your options are but me coming here again is a NO!

My last post was a good one about this restaurant but this one is going to be different I eat here this weekend and it was different than last time it was good last time it was bad these time they was no food on the buffet I asked them to put food out and they never did. The waitress this time did not clean the tables off or take the empty plates away did not ask us about refills but once. Last time I posted I would recommend this restaurant but now I would not because of the experience I had.

China Star Located within the Lowes and Walmart shopping center on the West side of Kingsport has excellent food and even better service. I eat there pretty much every night as Im coming home from work and the Food I Always Fresh, Freshly Made, and a very large Variety of items to eat as well as sea food. If you want something to eat and you want it freshly made if by chance they havent replaced it yet, all you have to do is ASK and they will have it right out to you, so stop hating, people!!!!

Food is generally the same at any time of the day. Mostly hard and dried out chicken. You can tell by looking at the food it has been laying there begging to be put out of its misery. The staff hover over you like you trying to steal something....I always feel rushed when I go there. I ordered online recently and it was horrible.......the woman at the cash register needs a class in customer service.....she is a bitter person to say the .least. Ill never eat there again/

Food is really good, IF its fresh. If you go earlier during the day (lunch time) food is awesome. Only downside is they do not put shrimp on the bar until dinner... Also, the staff hovers sometimes, always asking if youre done even if youre still eating off the plate.! That annoys the HELL out of me, but I havent been to a Chinese buffet that wasnt like that. Apparently they all do it Lol. Over all, this is one of my Favorite places to eat Chinese.

The food is good IF AND ONLY IF you get there at the right time, otherwise they do not put fresh food out unless a container gets completely empty and sometimes not even then. The staff is absolutely not friendly at all. I have been there nore than a few times and I can count on one hand the times I have seen a worker there smile. The last time I went with my daughter we said we probably wont go back because nothing changes.

Its a hit and miss with this place some days are fresh some days arent I have gotten sick from here at least twice but I keep coming back and hopes that it will be fresher the two times that I did get sick was because the food food was not fresh enough but on the days that it is fresh it is really really good and the wait staff are always very helpful and polite and get you anything that you need

Food was pretty good (3 1/2 stars out if 5) but the floor, plates, and silverware were quite dirty! I would say this place has gone down hill, it used to be one if my FAVORITE places to eat in kingsport, but over the past year its quickly become one of my least favorite. (Desert was excellent though!)

Me and my friend wanted Chinese food, and we figured a buffet would be affordable, as we have one in our home town, unfortunately that place was filthy, all the divider tops were smeared, the table tops were smeared, the food was mediocre, and it was $13 something for one person to eat...not happy.
