This restaurant is under new ownership. They have made it just like the one across town but with nicer tables. The reason why I drove across town for this place was it felt more like a sit down Mexican restaurant and less like the take out place. You ate on real plates and drank out of a real glass. Now it is a take out place you can sit down at. You order at the counter, are served on Styrofoam plates and drink from Styrofoam cups. Even your salsa is served in a to-go cup. If you like the original taco express, this place is for you. If you love the taco express food but wanted a sit down restaurant atmosphere, it is not that place any more. Original review ----------------------------------------------------------------------- The nickname for this place is taco excess.... You get a HUGE amount of food for the money. Their chicken or steak fries are something I have not saw anywhere else. My favorite is the chick burrito.

The Food is Good. Pretty much the kind of food you would expect from a Mexican Restaurant, but you order your food at the counter like you would at Taco Bell and the Waitress/Waiter brings your food when it is ready. Went on a Friday night, They werent "busy" but it felt understaffed. One Woman handling the Cash Register taking orders and the other serving drinks, food and Chips as she could. The counter waitress helped when she wasnt taking orders. Two Cooks in the back. Food was brought out in a timely manner. No Complaints. Just felt different.

I went with my family to this location and the service was horrible. We went early to avoid the rush only to have to wait to be served after the group that came after us. Our food came out to the table over the course of 15 minutes one plate at a time, and then the last item was completely wrong. The customer service was very poor as well. It didnt seem like anyone wanted to be there. The food tasted good but that is not enough for me to come back to this location.

Today I ordered three shredded beef tacos with extra cilantro. I paid 50 cents for the cilantro. When I looked at them there was barely any cilantro on them at all so I complained. The attendant told me "thats what you get on three tacos". I mentioned that anytime before I was given a cup of cilantro. She started to charge me more money. Bad service, plus I waited over half an hour for them.

The service is terrible. In my experience today I was quoted 3 different prices for an order of cheese fries... all of which were different from the price paid just yesterday. When requesting a manager, I was told that one was unavailable because she was on maternity leave.

The food is pretty good, but boi did it change..It seems like theyre about to go out of business. They went from real plates and a waitress to Styrofoam cups and ordering at the counter...But by all means, relatively cheap and affordable with a pretty good taste.

Walked in and place smelled like sewage, the girl behind the counter taking our order was so rude, why would you hire someone who is rude to your costumers, I dont get places like this, customer service brings people back, definitely wont be going again!

This used to be my favorite place to eat, but after going today I would never go back. Everything has changed, bad food, rude workers, and the environment is horrible. I do not recommend eating here for anybody!

Food is great and service has been consistently friendly and fast. Similar to some of the tex mex Im used to in San Antonio so it has some different dishes from the standard mexican place around town.
