Venus Pie has the best pizza in Spartanburg, without a doubt. Probably some of the best pizza Ive ever had. The calzones and bread sticks are similarly awesome. Slices are huge, and the price isnt bad at all. The restaurant is certainly a hole in the wall, but thats typically the mark of fantastic food. Ignore the surroundings and focus on what you came for, the pizza. Service is quick, but Ive gotten attitude from some of the workers occasionally. Nothing terrible, but just something to be aware of. Overall, this place is great, and I highly recommend it. Much better choice than the franchise places around town, and even superior to Mellow Mushroom just down the street.

I want to love this place...I do love the food, but the service is atrocious. Everything I go it is something else. Sub part service, incorrect order, slow service, you name it. This past time we ordered a full order of bread stick and they only made half. The half they gave us was burnt but they offered not to charge us for them. We then added an extra slice because of the bread sticks, and they forgot it. One of my slices had about as much topping as a 99 cent totinos pizza. The people there are super nice but there is always something lacking.

5 stars to Matt and his employees! The lazy hiring manager, Steven is doing a poor job when it comes to making pizzas, doing his job, and even doing miserably when firing someone. What manager cant even grow a pair and fire someone face to face? Id give him 0 stars if Venus was actually owned by him. Dont bother applying here either, hes been known to crumple papers up and toss them in the trash even when they need new people. Maybe the real owners shouldve set up cameras to really see how hes working when they arent there.

People dont get it, its not supposed to look perfect. The dive look is purposfull, how many places in the world are memorable for the perfect atmosphere? It has been traditional that so many of the BEST dam food is served at a place that concentrates on the love of the food. High prices for cheep goods to pay for to much overhead and the owner(s) elaborate renovations and back taxes. Awsome food perfect atmosphere and a warm clean kitchen. Matt Klinker my hero.

Ive always enjoyed Venus Pie but since they have changed the days theyre open to only Tuesday and Saturday, Ive been a little disappointed in their service. The service has been very, very slow the last couple of times Ive been there, and they really werent that busy either time. I will admit, that I go there for the food, and definitely not the service. You cant go wrong there with a pepperoni slice and order of cheesy breadsticks.

Been enjoying VP pizza for years and appreciate the intimate feel of the place and food; would give 5 stars except sometimes they can be overwhelmed on busy nights and you may wait a little longer. Their pizza is fantastic, always tastes fresh, and isnt overloaded with sauce. Great extras (calzones are gigantic - prepare for leftovers) for a wonderful dine-in experience. Fun local spot in Sparkle City.

When I was younger I worked for two Italians from New York City in their Pizza restaurant. During this time I really learned to appreciate NY Style pizza and subs. I liked the atmosphere Venus Pie, but the pizza was a little lacking. Crust not quite done, sauce too pasty and toppings too sparse. Staff was nice, but Ill keep searching for true NY Style Pie.

Decent taste, massive portions I got a sidecar salad and a slice of hunters and it more than filled me up, so the value of the food is definitely great. As for the taste, it was good, but nothing spectacular. The crust was a bit burnt and the toppings were on the minimal side. I would eat here again, if others were going here, but I wouldnt go out of my way.

This place is a little hole in the wall pizza joint. The pizza is very good. I could eat their calzones with nothing inside. My only complaint is the service. Hard to get drink refills and things like that. Its better to eat there if you can get a seat. Take out is either usually cold or its not even been started when you get there to pick up.

pizza is always great, but the service is mediocre, also mediocre were the jokes about customers who were literally walking out the door. Fortunately the woman who waited our table was patient and pleasant. I miss the previous stoners who used to work here and had our food out in under 30 minutes. lastly, the bald guy talks to much

Very disappointed. The pizza has gotten thinner. we came at lunchtime which it was busy but I didnt want what I got which was cold pizza and no refill on our drinks. Pizza with double toppings should be more than 5-6 pieces of pepperoni....I hope your service will get better..........

Came in thirty minutes before closing and they turned me away saying they werent accepting anymore orders today... Waited outside and a couple of customers entered the building and went turned away, drive around and saw them sitting at a table smh. WILL NOT BE RETURNING!!!

With Venus Pie you dont go for the atmosphere, its the food. Its kind of a hole in the wall but the food and portions are perfect! Very reasonably priced and an excellent value. Matt the owner is a great guy. Wish they word fix the place up just a lite though!

I almost always get pizza by the slice. Its always delicious. Decent beer selection and awesome cheese bread. They pretty much always have great music playing as well. Only drawback is rather limited hours of operation.

Hands down, the best pizza in spartanburg. The only place that even comes close to matching it is brickhouse but they are always packed with no parking.
