Do you like delicious food? Oh wait...you dont? Well then keep driving and head to Sonic down the road. This isnt your mommas seafood joint. First off they butter you up with some pimento cheese, biscuits, cheese bread, and cornbread. Right, I know. I had you at Pimento cheese. Next they hit you with the specials. Our server Bruce delivered these better than Shakespeares Macbeth. Unbelievable, I was about to start reaching for the popcorn. Well the food came out and it delivered. Unbelievable. Steak that melts in your mouth. A few folks ordered the Eggplant Treasure Chest. Should have been called the surprise cornucopia of succulent scallops, sexy shrimp, and glorious grouper. This place is excellent. Enough said. Now I am going to eat miserable meals that dont compare the rest of my life.

I dont like to give ratings of 5 but I was tempted here. My wife and I were there for lunch on April 30, 2012. I was somewhat leery about the tomato, crab and jalapeño soup because I thought it might be too spicy for me. Our server brought a small amount for my wife and I to sample. It was delicious and I ordered it. My wife chose the crab bisque which was also quite good. We both has a special which was crusted snapper over potatoes, beets, and cherry tomatoes. We were both impressed. We finished by sharing a bread pudding with home made vanilla ice cream with a caramel sauce drizzled over the top. My wife chose the desert. Im not a fan of bread pudding but I thought this was very good. The total price was quite reasonable considering the quality.

This place is wonderful! I ate at Bistro 217 on Friday, July 24, 2009 with two friends and each of us loved the food. I had the Red Snapper with Udon Noodle Pea cake which had a coconut curry sauce and thought it was amazing. None of us in the party could detect any curry but it was extremely delicious. The fired goat cheese app was also delicious...very creamy and mild. The Tomato, Crab & Jalapeno Soup was also a winner. If you are looking for Pub-Grub, this is not the place. The bill for three persons (3 appetizers, 3 entree specials, 2 desserts, a bottle of wine, 1 soda and 1 coffee) was $177 BEFORE the tip and worth every penny. Our server was excellent as was the entire staff. I would go out of my way to eat there again.

I think it was a shame that one of the reviewers here left without actually tasting the food. Excellent food. Starting with their crab bisque with tomatos and habaneros and ending with the grouper. I enjoyed the food thoroughly. I shared my dining experience with my girlfriend and another couple; each of us ordering different appetizers and entree. All four of us truly enjoyed the dinner and the whole dining experience. We also could not be any happier with our server, He was very knowledgeable and very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend this place.

I visit this establishment once a year during my family vacation and its always our first stop after a long seven hour drive, and for good reason. The hostess, wait staff, and bartender are always friendly and professional, but the real test of any restaurant is the food, and Bistro 217 deserves its A. Not only is the lunch and dinner menu diverse enough to satisy anyones craving for grill and/or seafood, its always delivered fresh and relatively quickly (and Im always with a group of 17 people).

We went there without reservations at 6:00. Despite there being many empty tables, we were seated at the bar because they were supposidly fully booked. When we left at 8:30 the majority of the tables were still empty. Also we ordered the NY strip steak. It was definitely NOT a NY strip. We usually have a good experience at this restaurant but this visit was not one of them. We dine out often but I will put them in the penalty box for a while before I go back.

Delious tastebud adventure that never disappoints! There truly is not one morsal that is not culinary perfection! Impeccable and knowledgable service staff that make every guest feel like royalty. Once you have tasted the chefs homemade ice creams you will be ruined for life for anything else! The Hazelnut Chocolate Bomb will transport you to worlds unknown! A treasure worth any price is this hidden gem!

Came here on the recommendation of friends for lunch on a Saturday, and what a really exciting find! Unlike most of the dreary restaurants in the area, the food here was obviously freshly made, imaginative, well-presented and, most importantly of all, delicious. The staff were helpful and discreet, yet always there when needed. We will definitely be going back, and thank you all for such a lovely meal.

Quite possibly THE best restaurant in the Pawleys Island/Georgetown/South Myrtle Beach area! The food here EASILY rivals dishes Ive ordered from fine dining restaurants in Europe. Pay close attention to the special dishes for the night (always delicious). If the weather is nice, sit outside in the covered patio area (unless youre on a date where the dim lighting inside is great).

I am giving this restaurant 3 stars, only because the service was Good. The food was so-so, fried calamari was ok, Fried Flouder was blah (bland), Mash potatoes tasted old and were cold, fried okra was ok. Dessert, Warm Brownie with banana ice cream, brownie was not warm and ice cream was to sweet.

High quality food, superior dining experience in Pawleys Island. Upscale flavors and big, generous portions. Only dish that missed was the Caesar Salad (dressing was too rich!). Short ribs were to die for and the steak was cooked perfectly. Plenty of seafood options available as well.

Absolutely favorite place to bring friends. Staff is attentive, atmosphere comfy yet roomy, prices reflect careful consideration of dishes, and best of all the food is very tasty, beautifully presented and fresh, fresh, fresh! Try the lunch grouper for a special treat!

were not sure how the food is, but entrees range from $20 - 35 and are over ambitious in description if they are to be paired with the bud light and loud football game on the giant tv. bread arrived in a basket with celery and carrot sticks and we left. . .

A local favorite. Excellent food for price with a wide variety of choices as well. Recently had the fish tacos for lunch. Two HUGE soft shell tacos of cilantro-encrusted Mahi Mahi. Delicious! Great service as well. You wont be disappointed.

The most professional and discreet staff. One of our party experienced a medical episode that was handled by the staff without any other diners aware. Thank you for the great food and presentation. Thank you for your kindness.
