Id love to give a better rating because the food is very good. Unfortunately, the service and the flies just ruined it. I get that its busy at Friday dinner rush, but if it takes 45 minutes for my food order to come out, you might want to check on the table more than once during that time. I dont think anyone here truly captured just how bad the fly problem is. From the minute our food was delivered, we were bombarded by flies. As soon as we finished eating, I had to move our dishes to another empty table to get rid of them. Ive never eaten on a patio and had so many flies around. Theyre really bad. This restaurant desperately needs an exterminator to spray the patio.

CAROLINA CRAB CO. is best!!!! service, food, atomosphere!!! stopped there on our way back to Atlanta..... and they were closed :-( because the owners are so compassionate they allowed the employees to view the eclipse! Starving & disappointed we turned to their neighbor restaurant. SO DISAPPOINTED!!!! FOOD WAS BLAND & PLAIN. As were leaving Carolina Crab was opening for dinner..... We asked for the owner (Keith) to tell him what happened. He is such a nice person!!! apologized & blessed us with a free meal upon our return to HHI. This is hands down my favorite restsurant on HHI!!! Food is delicious!!! Service is outstanding!!!! HILTON HEADS BEST!!!!!!!!!!

start by understanding you are on a subtropical vacation island. the actual " inside " area is limited on seating. most of the seating is outdoors. the service was very good. we were helped by a few different people aside from our primary server ( who was extremely busy) . all employees picked up the work load as necessary instead of standing around saying " its not my job " i always get oysters " lightly steamed. on the menu the oysters are raw, but they accommodated my request. the food was VERY GOOD. the staff was very friendly. the inside was small and plain jane, but we didnt come in for the decor. yes- we are going back.

Very slow service. Some people got their food almost half an hour after others. I had terrible stomach problems and 3 of my relatives had throat problems and my aunt completely got sick! And the live music was very loud and sounded the same the whole time after a while and we just wanted to eat our food. If you are allergic to seafood I do not advise coming here, food or grease is not kept separate from what I experienced. Although the waiter was very apologetic and made sure we had good service

We enjoyed Carolina Crab Co. On a Monday night in late April, we were seated outside pretty immediately. There was a musician playing covers solo on guitar, and he did a good job. Our server was polite, courteous, and informative. Good service. We both ordered seafood dishes. I got the peel and eat shrimp, my fiancee got an assorted crab combo. The food was good. It wasnt otherworldly, but it was solid. We would come back here again, but it wouldnt be our first choice in the area.

I ordered the Carolina Crab cakes and they were delicious. I dont enjoy most seafood because most restaurants dont season the meat well and most dishes end up bland. Well this restaurant has shown they know how to prepare a dish. These were extremely tasty and a great portion size. Expect a wait without a reservation if youd like to sit outside. We sat at the bar as we ate and enjoyed the atmosphere until our table was ready.

Bad service, poor quality food Will not return. Waiter didnt seem to care if he served us or not. Hamburger undercooked. Appeared to only have 3 or 4 people working. No one greated us at the door. Food not tasty. Scallops were ok. Not great. This reastraunt needs a lot of improvements if it is going to survive.

Although we love the atmosphere and have been coming for a number of years, we were really disappointed with the serving sizes this year. Our daughter ordered the The Alaskan Bucket and was served 2 smallish crab legs, 3 thin slices of kielbasa, half a corn on the cob, and potatoes. I just didnt see the $29 value.

The service was good. The steak and shrimp plate is over priced. I was served a fatty steak. For $28 the steak should have been of a higher quality. The crab cakes meal was much better for a lower price. Great atmosphere, and family friendly. All in all I had a good experience, and would recommend anyone to visit.

Food was really good. Service was great as well, attentive but not overly so. The place was small, a few tables inside with a bar, but there was seating outside as well. The music however did not match the decor. Decorated like a fishing boat with club music playing. Would definitely recommend for food.

My wifes stuffed flounder was ok. I asked our server if the shrimp was local and she said yes. I should have asked if it was fresh. The shrimp were all baby shrimp and extremely tough my scallops were all very small and slimy. Too much money for the quality.

My family had a WOW dinner there tonight! Every aspect was stellar, Tessa is a fantastic waitress, the crab legs, scallops, fried green tomatoes, and pies are amazing. We kept saying wow over and over. We will be back. Thanks for a great experience.

Delicious!!!!!!!!! The location is magical!!!!!!!! Especially when the sun sets! You can sit outside on the patio under the light lined branches with a view of the water. Everything I tasted was delicious! The crab cakes and balls were TASTY!!!

this place is awesome great food very nice environment. We went to there and got twice as much food for half the price. Only concern was the flies we had to fight them off would have liked some candles to keep them away. We will be back

Food looked great online and in pics on website, in person not so much. I was with a large group, nobody liked their meal except those who ordered the buckets, so stick to those if you go.....but really you should look elsewhere.

Best meal Ive had on the island. I would consider this a must eat restaurant. Waitress was attentive, food was fantastic, no b/s prices clearly listed on the menu. Worth every penny.

this was a great place to get crab legs, oysters, po boy, just wonderful. even the hush puppies were really good. my only suggestion would be a little more old bay on the steamed shrimp.

Awesome food and atmosphere . We sat outside , great band by the bar . Husband had the crab cakes and I had the crab stuffed flounder ... both were outstanding !
