The worst experience ever --- I had been getting great reviews about this place and thought I should check it out since Im new to Charlotte and own a marketing company. The owner and the waitresses are all extremely rude - I arrived at the restaurant approximately around 11:30 after the breakfast crowd had diminished - the host asked how many and I said 2 for lunch. She sat me right away - the waitress came over promptly and asked to take my order and I placed my beverage order and asked for a few minutes to check out the menu - she came back and I placed my order and told her my guest was on his way and would be here shortly but he would probably just order coffee. She got agitated and said she would have to check with the manager to see if she can turn my order in - Really!!! because the waitress had sat me at a table that seats 2 and if my guest is not here then I would have to move or she could not place my order. The worst experience ever - I had already been seated and Im having to go through all of this just to get some eggs - I mean this is not a fine dining restaurant. The owner came out and he was just as rude. What they dont realize is that I am an extreme foodie - and i will now tell as many people as possible and post this on social media. My guest finally arrived and we left and drove directly to the Original House of Pancakes and had GREAT FOOD and GREAT SERVICE...!!!!!!

They refused to give my plastic utilize after requesting to speak with management told me he was out to make bank transaction I said by then my food would be cold so please give me plastic utilize once go to car get plastic utilize manager comes out snatched my folk out my hand put his finger over my food telling me to eat it then other in the restaurant are just curious as to why with me being a paying customers cant they just give me plastic utilize then after snatching away my utilize and pointing finger over my food grabs up my food and trash it and tells me to leave all because as a paying customers I wouldnt be allowed to eat with a plastic utilize in the public dining area if u dont believe me go by order your food and ask for plastic utilize ever returning and going back not ever first and last time and sunflower

The owner greets me with a big smile every time I visit her establishment, the waitress seem to develop a personal relationship with the returning customers as they provide you with a sense of remembrance from your last visit, the food portions along with the menu specials combined with the many combinations of beef fish chicken and vegetables are a delicious blend of variety and vegetable choices along with a clam tranquil relaxing atmosphere all make for a very good dining experience.

Ive been there maybe 4 or 5 times, now, and cant get enough of the Fish {Perch} and grits, So good! I had my Sister and her son go with me on Friday 12/23, and Id talked up the place, they did not disappoint, she was so happy with everything, she mentioned how the grits are so delicious and well seasoned, you dont have to add a thing to them. The service is always impeccable, theyre so friendly and I really believe its genuine, I just love going to the Sunflower! :)

My family and I, my friends, acquaintances, all eat here regularly and the food os always great and filling. Tammy is an awesome waitress who always has a conversation for you, as well as the other waitresses. The owner is also the cook and his wife and daughter run the register. Prices are reasonable for the amount of food you receive. Would recommend Sunflower to any and everyone. One visit and you will be hooked!!!!

I have ate here over 20 different times and probably bulk dine in. My family took my suggestion to try it out and because my mother who cannot eat off metal asked for plastic ware they wouldnt allow her it or to eat at table with it. But if we order To go we get plastic ware. They literally missed out on $200 over one customer having a phobia and condition. I will never go back and deter any future guests.

They charged us a $2 sharing food fee which didnt have any extra amount of food or anything was the same exact amount it would have been for one person. Served us onion rings that had ketchup smeared on them as if they took it off someones dirty plate and re served it. Also charged $1.79 for a glass of tap water. Will not be back again.

The best shrimp and grits and french toast in Charlotte. I love this place and anyone Ive ever brought here loves it too. Great service and great food. Its really small but very friendly and welcoming. Youll love it! I wish they stayed open a little later.

I love the Sunflower. Dora and Nick do a great job running this older establishment. The food is always good, the waitstaff friendly, and prices are low. I eat here at least once a week. You should definitely check it out.

It was wonderful family friend staff our waitress Ms. Tammy took great care of my large family. The food was awesome pancakes looked like they were on steroids according to my 9 year old. But everything was wonderful.

Today was my first visit. I have road past this spot for 12 years. Food was awesome! Great seasoning on the chicken and the best fried onion rings I ever tasted. Chicken reminds me of my mothers deep south seasoning.

I am a regular there. They have the best fish and grits on the planet! The owners are amazing too. My mother sends all her coworkers from the hospital there and they love it just the same.
