I adore a Vietnamese eatery where there is always a crowd of Vietnamese friends and families gathered, both local and visiting from home! The cheer and jovial conversation albeit predominantly Vietnamese language, is very inviting and pleasant! Pho Viet boasts a broth thats hearty, full bodied & very rich with a bold, meaty collagen content. Chock full of aromatic anise and garlic notes, the green onion and cinnamon presence gives a slightly sweet finish. The amount of their springy, perfectly prepared and served noodles is overly generous, I still havent finished a serving yet, and this is my 4th visit! Consistency has been my returning variable for sure. But taste, ambiance, pleasant customer service, with a clean, well kept place to dine will keep me returning. Within their location are very funky, eclectic, bars, parks, and stores that are mostly aimed at college aged patrons. The people are very diverse, but everyone here has been sweet each visit. Parking is a task, but sometimes youll get lucky and a vacant front parking is open on the street. You must be a savvy parallel parker, though! I live 53 miles away, and drive the 1 hour and 23 minutes for delightful service and their pho. The price is 8-10 depending on which protein you order, or dont. Im used to paying $7 for a bowl of pho, but Colorado and many other states Ive lived in have a large Vietnamese population as well as other restaurants that serve pho. Columbia has 2 so far, and the entire state has about 10 pho locations. If you come on the day the broth is made, you may need an extra lime wedge or some nuoc com to add in. Any other time, when the broth has had time to unite all ingredients, all youll need is your spoon. I will say I recommend Pho Viet for their Pho & boba!

Firstly, this place didnt have any system on getting a table. You just stand at the entrance until one of the servers comes and asks who came first and then takes you from there. So theres a good chance of a fight right there if you end up standing next to someone who tries to cut you in the line. Second, their service was super slow, took them 25-30 minutes just to get us water and the menu. And then we ordered a boba mango tea, which they never got to us, and were still trying to charge us for it in the receipt. We got it taken off though. Then the food was way below average, we got their veg bowl and the chicken bowl (I think #41). It was so bland that it tasted like hospital food and I had to add tons of sauces and salt on the table to give it any flavor at all. Would never go back again. They kept saying that theyre busy as they dont have enough servers, but I saw two of their staff members, that were just busy folding the spoons and forks in napkins in one corner. Im sure they couldve helped at least with water and menus. Terrible service, below average food. Will never go again. :(

I dropped acid once & had my friends bring me here. I think I ordered chicken soup but it was really hard to tell because it was moving in & out of time. Even though everyone there knew I was tripping balls they were cool. The atmosphere was really chill & all the green walls encouraged me to stick it out. The table was vibrating but I cannot confirm if that happens to all patrons. After a decade I ate my shrimp rolls & they were the key to the universe. The chick who took care of us was cool until her face turned into a kaleidoscope but she still got a good tip I think, ask my friend. Anyway, this place is awesome & you should eat here.

Prior to this visit Id never had Vietnamese food before. Im always down to try new things, so I tried this place out. I had #75 on the menu, which is steak cooked with peppers and onions and covered in some kind of special sauce. Mannn....it was delicious!! It definitely satisfied my taste buds. Thats one dish I would recommend. As far as the decor, it wasnt a fancy place. Its good for lunch or an early dinner. Not anywhere I would take someone on a date if I was trying to impress them. Also, we got excellent service from Jenny! She is awesome!

My husband and mother-in-law are Vietnamese so Ive had homemade pho and spring rolls, etc, plus Ive eaten pho at several places in various cities over the years. I ate at the Pho Viet on Devine and was unimpressed. The pho was mediocre compared to most pho Ive eaten. The place was kind of dirty in appearance, the music was too loud, and the service was not great - just okay. I was also disappointed in there being few vegetarian options.

Weve been going since it opened and its gotten better with age. Nice staff and quick service with fresh food. The cơm tấm dishes are good, and my Vietnamese wife likes many of the more interesting menu items. Start with the spring rolls and the obligatory small bowl of nước mắm, then try out their noodle dishes, rice, or a squid dish. Dont forget to try their tasty iced coffee, too.

This was my first time eating at a Vietnamese restaurant and Pho Viet was great. I got the popular dish beef pho and it was amazingly good and they give you enemourus portions. They also have some really good coffee. The service was great and the waitress was really helpful for a first timer. I would recommend anyone hasnt tried Vietnamese cuisine to give this restaurant a try.

Usually have a great time at Pho. But this time was not. Food was great but the wait staff not so much. Make sure to CHECK YOUR BILL if youre a larger party. My party of 6 was charged 28% tip on each bill. 18% is customary on parties if 6 or more but 28% is absurd! Especially since the service was lacking, seriously.

As far as food goes this place is pretty amazing. Always fresh tasting. You really need to step in and try it. Its one of the few places in 5 points I would suggest people come and try out. The only down side of this place is the limitations 5 points brings. The building is old and the inside looks horrible.

I have to give it 4 stars. The place is very nice, fast service. Mainly its really good comfort food. However, bring at least one other person with you. Its 8.50 for a bowl but the bowl is HUGE! Im a pretty big eater but this is much more than I wanted. For that, its very worth it.

Best Phở in Columbia Ive had so far, excellent service. Usually eat in but recently tried carryout, portions of meat, greens, and noodles were the same as dine-in but not as much broth (not really a complaint, I just love their broth and feel like it should be said)

Ive been here several times over the last month due to only being able to eat a soft diet. Each time, trying something new, have not ordered anything that didnt come out delicious and tasty. Generous portions, herbs, broth, fresh and flavorful.

Great food, they give you a lot for the price. And you can get Boba here!!!! Service was minimal, which is my preferred service. If youre a college student this place is awesome, the other commenters are primadonnas.
