My go to spot for sushi lunch in Port Orange is usually Wasabi Bowl, but since it was nearly impossible to make a u-turn on the main stretch during the lunch rush, Id started to frequent Red Bowl. Situated behind the new Mellow Mushroom off of Dunlawton, Red Bowls convenient location and great lunch special prices are what drew me in. Unfortunately, my experiences with their pickup ordering have been less than stellar. I have never been able to successfully order a lunch special sushi from their website; the pop up asks you to select which two sushi rolls you want and whether you want salad or soup, but even after making the selections, the order button continues to stay grayed out. When they first opened this location it was hard to get them on the phone, as well, but I have had better success calling in orders recently. My order is NEVER ready when they say it will be. I have called in and picked up orders three or four times now, and each day I show up on time, I end up waiting for my food. Today I remembered this and showed up late, and I still had to wait 5 to 10 minutes. The purpose of calling in an order is that it is ready ahead of time, so that I can pick it up and head back to work as quickly as possible; this is continually a very frustrating process at Red Bowl. The sushi itself is decent for what you pay; $7.99 for their lunch special for two rolls and a salad or soup. The sushi isnt stellar but it hits the spot, and both the salad and the soup are about on par with what youd expect from a restaurant of this type (ginger dressed salad, miso soup). Today I ordered an avocado roll and a sweet potato roll, both of which were still warm when I got back to my office and ate them. Bottom line: If you are looking for sushi that is somewhat better than Publix, priced well and you are willing to wait, give Red Bowl a try. If youre looking for great sushi and exceptional service, Id probably give one of the other three or four local establishments a try. Now that they have added a u-turn lane on Dunlawton, I dont see myself favoring Red Bowl over Wasabi Bowl any longer.

Me and my roommate always order delivery, and seeing as this is the only Chinese type delivery on the area, we decided to try it. Tonight was the 4th time we have ordered from Red Bowl, and I can honestly say, there has not been 1 time where everything was correct on our order. Ordered the crab rangoon, egg roll, and pork chow mein with no vegetables. When delivered, chow mein noodles were not in the bag with the order. Called Red Bowl. Explained that the noodles were not with the order. Guy who answered the phone asks me to hold. He then gets back on the phone, and says, "I asked the person who bagged the order, and he says he put them in there". I explain, once again, that they are not there, and I dont appreciate being called a liar. Asks me to hold again. Now, a female gets on the phone, and I have to start from step one in this fiasco. After being on the phone for 10 minutes explaining all this, they offer to send out another bag of noodles. They finally arrived 24 minutes after hanging up. My advice, CHECK YOUR ORDER AT ALL TIMES FROM RED BOWL! I, for one, will not be ordering again from them.

For the price, I really expected a better experience! My husband ordered the sweet and sour chicken combo but they forgot to put the sauce in the bag. Unfortunately, he didnt check before leaving so he didnt notice until arriving home. At that point, he called Red Bowl to ask them if the dish was supposed to include sauce or if they gave him someone elses order by mistake. They told him he can come pick the sauce up if he wants and that the kitchen is very busy. Thats all. No refund, no offer to deliver the sauce; nothing. On top of that, I tried the beef and broccoli I ordered and it had an overwhelmingly fishy smell and flavor. The beef was also rubbery. I suspect it had spoiled because the beef itself was giving off the fishy odor and the broccoli appeared to be fine. Scared to eat what was likely spoiled beef, I chucked my dish in the trash. Luckily, we ordered soup as well, so I didnt go without, but it still sucks to have wasted the money. The wonton soup was good, but thats about the only positive thing I have to say about my experience with Red Bowl. =/

Went here last night with hubbie and our 4 year old. Weve never eaten at an "Asian" restaurant with the mix of Chinese, Japanese and Thai. Ive always believed to chose one over the 3 to get the true authenticity of the countrys cuisine, but we were pleasantly surprised. For starters, it was a nice, relaxing and clean environment, which we expected being its a brand new establishment. We went for sushi and typically go for the more expensive Chef Speciality rolls, but that being they offered Thai too we thought we would try their Yellow Curry Thai dish in addition, which was equal to the price of a chef roll. Everything was excellent! We were in an Asian savory bliss enjoying both our favorite cuisines together. The only complaint was the service, which was a bit slow. But hopefully the staff will get more comfortable and improve as time goes on. Well be going back again. FYI, during August 2015 theyre offering 30% off your entire bill when you spend $30! Great deal!!

Decent, but overpriced for what you get: One order of sushi, rice, and orange chicken well set you back $35. This price would be acceptable for a sushi place if the food was better. The sushi was fresh, at least, but missing generous pieces of crab. The other items, however, were average or below average. For example, the fried rice was apparently re-heated or had been sitting for quite some time under heat lamps being that the vegetables were hard and devoid of flavor. For the price of what you get, we wont be ordering from them again. If they step it up, perhaps well give them a second chance, as there is potential; but if not, its a definite no-go.

I never write reviews but Im disappointed. 2stars because they got my order correct and my food was nice and hot! The only plus...... My food is very BLAND. not much flavor at all! The price for one meal 2 piece of sushi and a coke was 30 dollars and Im not even enjoying this meal. The pricing is absolutely ridiculous. If my favorite Chinese place called difference wasnt closed today they wouldnt have gotten my business. Definitely the last time I order from here. Not to mention they did not provide any plastic silverware with my food that was delivered. I guess I should eat my soup with my hands. Thanks yall but never again. Yuck!

Wasted my money. After waiting over an hour for my food to be delivered I was missing half of my order. When I called back to let them know the employee insisted that I was wrong and that we received everything. Im positive that I know what 2 California rolls look like and they were not in my bag. I was spoken to like a child for 5 minutes before hanging up the phone in frustration. I will never order from here again. Save your money. On top of it all the food that we did get was not very good.
