This was my first and probably my last time visiting golden corral. We normally go to Ryans but my daughter asked to come here for her birthday and despite all of the negative reviews I chose to come anyway. When walking in the door we were greeted by the cashier. When it was time to pay, the woman at the register, Lisa Kelley (who wore a management team shirt) decided she needed to finish her conversation before ringing us up. Some plates and silverware werent completely clean and being that most buffets dont wash dishes by hand I excused it. The food was horrible. The food was hard as if it had been sitting out since lunch started. When leaving, I asked for the number to corporate, Lisa immediately caught an attitude. Then she storms off to go talk about me to another person on the management team, Dave Cook. She wrote down the number of corporate on a card and threw my receipt away. Im no fool, I know what that was about. He was much easier to talk to. He told me that fresh food was being put out but by this time Im annoyed and ready to go. It seems like what happened is that they were waiting on the dinner crowd to come in before changing the food. I was very disappointed in my first visit here. The best part of my visit was our server, Leroy. We wont ever return, at least not to this location. Save your money and go elsewhere. Unless of course your coming during the dinner rush.

Usually I do not write reviews on restaurants, but today Golden Corral pushed my buttons. For starters, whenever I have visited Golden Corral in the past, the food was usually pretty good but today the food along with the customer service was horrific. I came to the restaurant along with my two-year-old to have a mother daughter lunch, but it turned into me giving my money away because I couldn’t eat anything due the quality of the food. I went to the manager, and asked for a refund and she simply told me no. I even took her to my table, so I could prove to her that I barely touched my food. But she looked at my receipt and declined a refund. Her excuse was that we sat longer than 30 minutes. My receipt said 2:59 and she got to my table at 3:31pm. She gave me a free meal pass for next time. I am furious because from the time I paid for my meal, took my baby to the restroom, washed our hands, found a seat, fixed her food, fixed my food, and got settled at the table.. their “so call” 30 min rule was already depleted. I will never give Golden Corral my money anymore. If you want bland/stale tasting food, I have a FREE meal pass for you because I will never go back to that place again. Any takers?

Ate at Golden Corral yesterday spent a little over 18$ Even upgraded my drink. I had half a plate of food my drink was empty an no one greeted me. No one asked me if I needed anymore drink. No one paid attention to me the entire time I sat an waited. I tried to flag someone down but no one came. I then took the attention to a manger but having to find one of them made it more difficult. Then after speaking to someone I asked for a manager she replies with Im a team leader. by this time Im just ready to leave I tell her how I felt and left then after wanting to leave she trys to get the manager to help. I asked for him awhile ago and now youve pissed me off enough to where I want to leave I didnt wanna talk to a manager or anyone after all the trouble I went threw for a half plate dinner of 18$ dont waste your time going to a place that doesnt care about u or how ur treated they only want your money!!!!

Worst Buffet in Columbia SC. We went to one at Mrytle Beach and loved it but the one on Forest Drive is terrible. I wanted a steak cooked med. The cook took a piece, slice it sideways (made it thinner) and put it back on the grill. mmm, I just walked away. The same cook along with the others did noting but make flirty comments to every African American woman that walked by. It made you feel you were at the local bar. Onion rings, freshly put out were like eating breading (Wheres the onion?). Same with the breaded shrimp. The taco meat, well, was suspicious looking and no fresh was ever put out. The only highlight was the fried chicken and desert bar BUT that was not worth the $35 for 2 we spent. Do yourself a favor and avoid this GC off Forest Drive

My all time favorite place to go to just "Pig Out!" There is always a great selection of food and it taste great. The price is also very reasonable, taking that it is an all you can eat buffet. Youd pay more for an entree from another restaurant. Anyways ... try it and I am sure it will become one of your favorite restaurants as well. I cant go often, because I am trying to maintain my weight and I simply cant help myself when I go here. I am simply not disciplined enough. This is my review and I hope you enjoyed it.

The food just not good, not for the price. This is $8 buffet food at most, not $14. We paid $30 for two of us. All the food tasted overly greasy, most of it tasted like it came frozen or in a box. Especially the pie. That was disappointing. The price we paid was the same price we paid for an amazing sushi buffet where you watched actual chefs make the food. This place was dingy. And many employees had these glaring looks that just made you uncomfortable.

Not what we remember. Honestly, if youre going for QUANTITY over QUALITY and/or you need a place to spread out for your large gathering, then this is the best place to do so on Forest Drive - else, you will be disappointed. The only redeeming aspect of our Thursday night visit worth mentioning was the ever-attentive waitress we had (Bianca). Aside... this restaurant has really fallen from its former days 10 years ago.

This my first time eating at a Golden Corral. I can honestly say its NOT what I expected. The food was terrible. Some of it was over cooked and some under. I.e. The meatloaf and the stake. It was also very dirty. The mens room looked like it wasnt clean in days. The cooks seemed more concerned about their conversation with each other than the customer. The manager was nowhere to be found. What a shame.

Food is usually very good and well seasoned. My experience with staff has been very positive. The only deduction is for lack of crowd control (sometimes you must do battle for your plate), and parents who let small kids lean over the buffet (kids can sneeze and stick hands into the bar). G.C. makes announcements, but people arent great listeners. Bar need to be higher and individually monitored.

Selection of dishes better than most restaurants. Average taste. Service excellent, the lady that had my table was a sweetheart, and engaging in conversation, and kept my drink filled and plate cleared. Silverware washed, but not all cleaned. Price too high, dining room temperature a little hot. Not my favorite place, but when I want a range of veggies, this has the most.
