Ive been coming here for years and always loved it here! When my family comes from out of town this is where we choose to dine, I think this will change sadly. Something is different here and Im not sure what. The food is very good but the atmosphere has changed our waitress our last visit looked like she would rather be dead than working here she I think is newish I dont remember seeing her before if this helps short dark hair glasses. The gentleman that gather at the bar area seem ok but still grumpy and the woman (or I believe it to be no offense) whom walks around in the black chef coat looks lost and miserable with a face on that looks like she sucked on 1000 lemons. A restaurant isnt only about the food, the staff atmosphere and all around feel are important to. I felt uncomfortable to say the least.I had a minor mistake with a dish I order woman in black coat was approached and she seemed irritated and miserable which surprised me because the whole time I was waiting for food and enjoying my beer she was standing like a prison guard at the kitchen entrance in fact my husband made a joke that she would be amazing at poker due to her lack of positive emotion or any at all and that she should fill out an app for a guard at the Buckingham palace! so basically I didnt get her irritation or demeanor she hadnt lifted a finger since I had been seated I hope she isnt being payed to stand there n guard the pizza!!!! I can say a nice blonde waitress saved the day and the meal and I dont want to give up on you guys but I do know you can hire employees whom are talented in the areas needed and have people skills! Another thing that blew me away is when I asked one of the passing wait staff who the woman in the black coat was I was told a manager!!!! Insane. Really. Get it together federal hill get some employees that like working and work and make this place the upbeat happy place it once was and my family and I will be back!!

This review is actually from my husband who is a culinarian with over 20 years experience- I was so disgusted with tonights meal and service and sadly to say I will NEVER be returning. Long story short all Ive been wanting for days and days was a meatball and ricotta pizza from Federal Hill Pizza. Unfortunately what was served to my wife and I was a product that I personally wouldve thrown in the trash. First off visibly you could not even see any meatball on the pizza which eventuallythey took off our bill. Second you should offer your customers a choice of either shredded mozzarella or the Sicilian style which looks like theres no cheese on the pizza. I personally prefer shredded mozzarella on a pizza so sadly when our pizza arrived it looked like a big mess of dough and ricotta cheese with no meatballs on it at all. And to really get my blood boiling our server instead of trying to rectify the situation and make the customers happy he went on to blame the "new kitchen staff" which is the complete wrong answer when you are in customer service . All it would have taken to make us happy and we would not be writing this review right now that when we pointed out that there was no meatball on the pizza he should have said let me take that back and put some more meatballs on this for you but instead he went on to blame a poorly trained kitchen staff for the error. One thing Ive learned in my 20 plus years in food service, CONSISTENCY is one of the keys to a successful business. Tonight was a huge let down for me and Federal Hill Pizza you have lost 2 good customers from the East Bay Area.

Customer service was alright but that was sadly the only thing I enjoyed. I live on the same street and it took about an hour for my pizza to arrive literally directly down the road and it was cold once I finally got it. I immediately felt regret when I ordered and received the total for what I ordered because it was grossly over priced, but I stayed positive and assumed I was paying for quality and I was mistaken. The dough was flavorless and extremely thin with a watery, bland sauce that barely held the disproportionate toppings. Id had my heart set on good pizza and as a result of my experience I felt it was imperative that I give an accurate review because I dont feel the positive reviews accurately reflect this business. If youve never had a good pizza before and youre looking to overpay for a pizza then this is definitely the right place for you but if youre looking for good pizza I would highly recommend going anywhere other than here.

First time eating here tonight. Ordered the Niko and the Mamas brick oven pizzas both with added roasted red pepper. Total cost was $41 and change. Not worth the money, here is why: the pizza sauce sauce tasted like it was tomato puree from a can - no spices, not even the hint of salt or garlic...not even olive oil! Crust had absolutely no flavor...again not even the hint of salt. The spinach on the niko was meh and very stringy with too many stems. If two different pizzas were a mediocre meh I am not inclined whatsoever to try anything else on the menu. If they want to perhaps sway me back such radical moves like adding salt, pepper, garlic and a bit of seasoning to the sauce would be a good start. Positives about the establishment: very friendly wait staff, clean and enjoyable atmosphere.

Ordered a cheese pizza for pick up and was told it would take about twenty minutes. When I arrived to pick it up my order wasnt even started however they certainly made sure I paid before telling me. So I waited and waited and waited like an idiot until I asked what was going on. I was told "we make all the dine in customers food first then we make the take out orders." So I ended up waiting a total of 55 minutes for a CHEESE pizza. I was nevered offered an apology or any reimbursment for my wait. The pizza was only ok and not worth the hassle. I will never order from this place again and will continue to warm potential customers of their lousy take out service. I can only imagine how long a delivery or a more complicated order would take.

ordered delivery. was told 45 mins. I called after an hour and was told my order hadnt gone out yet. I was told another 20 mins. I was frustrated and the response was "I dont know what to tell you". When the food did come it was luke warm. I took the food anyway as we had waited approx 1 hr and 20 mins and were starving! I opened my salad to discover that the balsamic reduction it comes with was not included. When I called back and explained what happened I was told balsamic reduction doesnt come with the salad (it does, she had to read a menu)- then she said "well, what do you want me to do about it?" Its too bad the service is so poor because the food is good. Espically since the food is grossly over-priced.
