Bus boying at Tyler Point Grille was my first job. At sixteen years old I was excited to start working at a restaurant that I had dined at with my family for years. I consider myself a respectful person and a hard worker and have never known otherwise through my now extensive work experience at age 19. The hours that I worked at TPG were the worst of my life. If you are a regular at TPG you know there is a few staff members that never seem to leave, but have you ever wondered why most servers/bus boys never seem to stick around? The answer is the manager. I was never looked in the eye, never asked (always ordered) to do things, never trained by the manager (the first day I was yelled at for not knowing where the bar towels were), never complimented, never had any form of conversation besides work (save for a grunt when checks were passed out), and multiple times embarrassed in front of patrons that apologized to me saying I was doing an excellent job. Every night after cleaning I would say bye to the remaining workers congregated around the bar. Everyone would answer with a cheerful "Good night" except for my actual employer who would remain silent. I had been pinched (I am not sure that is legal anymore), yelled at, and ignored for one full summer (where three people quit because of working environments). John Thompsons review is extremely accurate to the nature of the managers behavior. The staff is excellent and everyone was extremely helpful to cooperatively cope with "her." And for those who think I am just being a whiny teen with no work ethic consider this. Three years after that summer I am writing this review. Three years later I still want to preach to not give this restaurant business. I have held two different jobs now for three years, became an Eagle Scout, graduated high school, and am attending a top notch university. I know how business and the treatment of employees, or human beings for that matter, should be conducted and this place represents the epitome of a person in "power" who will abuse it at all cost. I attempted to give my two weeks notice (I had gotten another job) but shockingly instead of being ignored I received a ten minute lecture about how I was a slacker for quitting and there is no reason why I shouldnt be able to hold the job while in school. (I hadnt told her my new job required me to drive to Maine every weekend.) She even told me and I quote to my memory that it was "the stupidest reason for quitting ever." This was the closest I have ever been in my life to telling someone older than me to "F@#$ off." Next time you go to the TPG order something nice, but do not partake in dinner time conversations. Instead watch the manager parade around like she is the Furher of the Third Reich (that would be Hitler for you non history buffs) emotionally, mentally, and yes sometimes physically abusing her employees. But when you leave be sure to leave an excellent tip for anyone who works at TPG deserves a way out, like a wrongly accused felon stuck in federal prison on a life sentence.

Service was horrible. I went on a date last night to here. We were sat at 630p we ordered drinks and said we needed a few minutes and we did not see our waiter again until 7p. We ordered the chowder, it was okay at best. The entrees were bland at best. The service was bad, I repeat. There was a table next to us, same waiter, who came in when we ordered, they were getting their check before we even got meal. I dont mind a long meal, but the service was horrible.

Food and atmosphere is great! Also, the price is not crazy. The have some decent beer on tap and a great wine menu. The only downside to this restaurant is that they close early during the week. I prefer a later dinner and some cocktails after. This restaurant is does not have that feel. It is Barrington so I am not surprised. Still 5 stars.

Great local place when you are looking to celebrate a family occasion. They have no problem accommodating reservations for groups of 10. The service is fast and courteous, the food is abundant and out-of-the ordinary! One of our familys go-to places!

Awesome setting, yummy food! Had the lobster roll-very good! The pineapple margarita is off the charts! I am also Vegan and GF and the chef was super accommodating- not the best tasting dish, but still very happy to be able to dine out!

5 of us had dinner and everyone loved their choices. I had the Chatham Cod and the ladies had salads which were good size portions. Loved it all. Servers were very good but not particularly sociable. I think they were just busy.

Good family-friendly option for a nice meal out. That can be a tough combination to pull off, but they do it well.
