If you havent experienced this brewery yet, now is the time. There is a reason this place has been getting rave reviews and I can tell you from experience I know why now. We went on a busy Friday night, greeted at the entrance, and was told the wait would be approx. 20 minutes. We were then told if we would like we could grab a drink at the bar while waiting, and we did so. Fortunately, seats opened up for us right away at the bar, and we ordered a few beers to start (smitty werbenjagermanjensen pale ale) excellent ale to start the night. The bartenders were polite and the service was quick. Soon enough we were approached by a member of the staff letting us know our table was ready. I decided to go with a classic fish and chips meal and ordered a few more beers. I can say I didnt come across a single beer there that I didnt like (pale ale/IPA/stout/belgian/double IPA) all were delicious. Although the fish was fried a little too long for my taste, it was complimented by a tarter sauce which also had a apple taste if, Im not mistaken, to it as well. Everything was reasonably priced from drinks to food. All in all this was an excellent visit from start to finish and we are looking forward to our next visit soon.

Been here quite a few times, however this past time I made the decision that I wont be back. It was a Tuesday night, the service was terrible. It was very slow. I got my food finally to find that I got a bread sandwich with hardly any chicken on it. The waiter came back, no problem took the sandwich back to the kitchen and made me a new one. It took forever! My friends were all but finished eating until it came out. I must say it was very good, however, in a case where the food comes out messed up the first time and it takes forever to get a new one, you would expect them to take it off your bill like any other restaurant would, instead of taking off the $11 sandwich, they take off the $3 cup of chili. That is Cheap! To top it off, the waiter, who I believe may be an owner, didnt even deliver us the bill and had someone else do it. Next time I will be eating at different restaurant in West Reading!

I went to this establishment for a great organization event. I never been before and I was excited about going because I was going to get to speak at this great event. However when I got there being that Im a BIG BLACK GUY I got no service. Finally after about a half an hour I was asked would I like something to drink I then asked for a drink menu which was bad because then I had to wait another 10 or 20 minutes. Upon ordering a drink needless to say I never got. Its ok. I was able to see some great acts and enjoy the evening. A place like this cant steal my joy. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

I had it brought in by the drivers from Delivery Guys. I have to say their service is amazing with all the resturaunts we have tried with themy all have been delivered hot and with a polite driver. Now as far as the food for Chatty Monks... pretty dang good! It was my first time eating their food. As a southerner we love a fish fry probably as much as the English enjoy their version of fish and chips. As this version goes Chatty Monks do a brilliant job! Would have been five stars if I had eaten there cant give service a star when I didnt eat there. Otherwise Ill be ordering again!

1st time at Chatty Monks. Had 2 beers. Dark ale was meh. Endoplasmic IPA was really good. I had the 5 way chili. It was good, not great. However, was more than adequate for a brewery menu. Honestly, I thought overall was strong. .. except for service. It took the server too long to say hi and also to get drinks. You would think at a brewing company you would get that 1st drink pretty quick. He tooK forever... and I mean forever to get our check. We even tried the put on Ur jacket move to get him to notice. If service was at least good this would be 4 stars.

Charming atmosphere and an Excellent menu. Beer is second to none. Great taste and selection of Beer they brew themselves. The Endoplasmic Reticulum and Galactic IPA were outstanding. Chef Dave has a great Menu and always awesome specials. Their Paninis and Nachos are to die for. Wings are great as well. The wait staff and Bartenders are all very friendly and knowledgeable. Give this place a try and you wont be sorry.

Its an amazing place. I am originally from Colombia where they have a lot of breweries and this place reminds me home. Great Place, Great Beer, Great Food, Great Service and a Great Atmosphere. I had the pleasure to do business with one of the owners Rob and he is a very cool guy who has a great view of what business should be like. Keep up the good work and I wish you a lot of success with Chatty Monks.

Im a beer guy with moderate experience, Im no expert but I feel this brewery makes some excellent beers. They have some really good food and its nice and chill during the week for lunch. Im not into packed crowds personally so this works for me. The bartender is a very kind lady and always has a smile on. This place is definitely worth a try if youre in the area.

One of two must-stop beer places when visiting family back in Reading area (the other being Barley Mow). Great atmosphere with a staff that has always been top-notch. Beers are unique and typically quite tasty. Im a big fan of most stouts they put out, especially the Thelonious Milk Stout. Some really good food dishes as well.

What a wonderful find! Service was great and informative, beer was excellent (recommend the endoplasmic reticulum and blonde) and the food was eclectic and amazing ! The chili was rich and warm with a hint of cinnamon and they should bottle the wing sauce. Cant wait to go back!

Stays open when it wants. Ive been living In reading during the week for the past 12 weeks and have tried to come here but theyre only open when want to be. The times that are listed open are not real, theyre open when they want to be. God speed having a fun time at Chatty Monks

Always interesting things and a variety on tap. Does serve cider and wine as well. Tje menu does vary so does change over time. The hoppy fries are a must and the nachos...they are impressive. Sometimes service is slow as is the kitchen, but is not overly slow.

I have been there multiple times since they opened. Their beer is excellent and very reasonably priced. Their food is very good, especially the fries, and I like that they now have local cider too. I highly recommend this restaurant, even if you arent a beer fan!

Aidan was the man. Let me sip on some samples before I tried it, recommended some of the best ales Ive ever had, and the tacos were delicious. Plus the gramatik music definitely made my night. Forever my favorite place to go to! Dubble Monk!!
