I went to Nicks this past weekend with my boyfriend, we were looking for a quick, different place to eat. We went into Nicks which is a very small space on Gay street, easy to miss. There are only a few tables in there, but we sat right down and ordered. The food took a while to come out, but it was wonderful. I got spinach pie (comes with a greek salad), and my boyfriend got the chicken gyro platter which came with the chicken, pita bread, and a greek salad. The portions were huge, and we loved everything. We paid about $8 per lunch, which we thought was great for the amount of food we got. We highly reccommend Nicks if you like Greek food!

The Good: Fresh, innovative, Farm to Table menu. Delicious. Great Bloody Mary - Highly recommend. The Ugly: $2 for ONE slice of rye bread cut in half? Really!? I know everything is super organic and fresh and thr best of thr best, but two bucks for one small slice of bread? Um, no. Also, its small. Like, really small. So, if you dont do crowds or wish to linger over your coffee without feeling eyeballs staring at you to hurry up already or you like conversations to be private, this may not be the venue for you. Also, the waits - especially on weekends- are insanely long. Id think twice if going with small children or the elderly.

This place is a hot ticket for Sunday brunch. The only reason for not fully 5 stars was the confusion around getting a table. The staff was a bit overconfident on being able to seat us in a reasonable time. The dining area is small. Dont expect to get a table quickly with any group larger than 4. Not taking reservations doesnt help either. The food was very hearty with a good selection of traditional brunch fare with some stand out alternatives. I had the quiche of the day which was very hearty and a big portion for the price.

I am by no means a coffee connoisseur, but Ive had one of the best, freshest cups of coffee Ive ever had here. Food is made with good, fresh ingredients and is often worth the price. Unfortunately one of the male baristas, who seems to be the one that is always there when I go, has a tendency to treat customers with more than a bit of contemptuous superiority. Unless, of course, you happen to be a young, attractive female. Can kind of ruin the experience, even though the rest of the staff is congenial and genuine.

Ok, so the food is really good, but Ill probably never go back. After being told there was a 10-15 minute wait, we were seated 50 minutes later. The hostess was either incompetent or really dislikes her job. Then, the waitress at the next table spilled a drink all over my purse and leg, but failed to even notice that I was grabbing every available napkin to soak it up. When I asked for a wet cloth, she could barely manage an apology. But the food was really good....

Good beginnings for this small space. Menu very interesting with items that can attract all and a good service staff that keeps things moving without feeling pushed. Lunch very nice. Soups and chili excellent. Salads very good. The Cubano sandwich delicious but too greasy. Even though I liked it, Ill pass next time. Buttermilk pie great. Has some work to do but very promising. Worth the try.

New to town but welcomed with open arms when stepping through the door. The staff here is happy! Definitely a great sign. The pork belly breakfast is amazing. Great portions, and all ingredients help support local farmers. Even though the have featured beer, wine and spirits they honor a BYOB Thurs-Sat. Theres great balance here. Looking forward to coming back soon.

Roots catered my Holiday party at my home in WC for the second year in a row. The food could not have been any better. Tremendous selection and so tasty. My friends, family and workmates all were raving about how great the food was. The owners themselves were the servers and they were so very warm and pleasant!

I LOVE eating here! In a nutshell: Great food, healthy, local, sustainable, etc. (the way food should be) but, fortunately its also not crazy-expensive and "bourgeoisie", the staff and scene here are very down-to-earth. Highly recommended.

Roots is our favorite place to eat in West Chester, both for breakfast and dinner. They have an awesome space, friendly staff, and excellently crafted plates from locally sourced food. Plus they now have a liquor license, BONUS!

Best brunch in the area! Their drinks and food options are always delicious and I love the healthier farm to table options! The place is a little small but the outdoor seating in the summer makes up for it.

The food is delicious and interesting. Id like to linger and chat with friends, but theres always a line and they need to turn the tables. Noisy atmosphere; tables are very close together.

Delicious menu with locally sourced foods where possible. Flexible kitchen can adjust to your dietary requirements. Cozy dinging areas, so expect a wait during high traffic times.

We were told that there was a 30 minute wait and that they would call us. It was over a hour later that they called. This has happened more than once.

Wonderful flavors, particularly the Roots Burger and the Cuban sandwich. The prices are a little on the high side however (around $20/person).
