Maryellen did our wedding cake back in 2009, which included another top tier for our 1st anniversary(no freezing the top layer then throwing out year-old cake with freezer burn!). We chose a vanilla top layer, red velvet middle layer, and pound bottom layer, with blackberry fill between the layers. She even made the whole thing, cake, fill, and incredible icing using Splenda instead of sugar. Everyone raved about the cake...and no one could tell it was made with Splenda. We also had her make the 1-yr. top tier and later an Easter cake using Splenda too. Im calling her today to order a Splenda Easter cake for this year, too! Her cakes are amazing! I generally dont like icing but her buttercreme icing is addictive!

We love Maryellens Cakes & Candies, we got married about a year ago and she made a Grooms Cake for us that we loved more than our Wedding Cake. And now we are having her make us our 1st Anniversary (Top Tear - Remake) because we did not want to keep any part of our Wedding Cake which was from another Baker. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND Maryellen!! The custom Grooms was very creative and original, she make a mountain with a snowboard on top, it was delicious weeks later, the best buttercream icing. We stop by and get cupcakes and candies almost every time we pass her shop.

I was referred to Maryellen by my sister-in-law. We ordered the cake for my sons birthday, but had to cancel the party at the last minute. Our plan was to freeze the cake for the following week, but Maryellen wouldnt allow that! She made another cake, free of charge! There are so few businesses that treat their customers with such kindness. The cake was beautiful, delicious, and just what we wanted. I can guarantee she has a customer for life with us!

We used Cakes and Candies by Maryellen for our Sept 2015 wedding and the cupcakes/cake and they were wonderful! Normally at weddings no one touches the cake but by the end of the night, there was not one piece left! I also loved how my husband and I were about to custom make the cupcake flavors- so fun! Well decorated, great presentation, highly recommend!

Maryellen did our wedding cake. She was very overbearing during our tasting. We asked for white flowers with greenery on the cake, because she insisted on us not going through our florist for the flowers for the cake, she put pink flowers on our cake, not white. Cake tasted fine.

Staff was very friendly and the cakes I ordered for my daughters 6th birthday party were tasty. However, one of the cakes had the wrong flavor of cream filling and the colors were not what I requested. I travelled too far and paid too much for those kinds of mistakes.

Friend had a "rainbow" themed wedding and Mary Ellen provided cakes of every flavor and color. AH MAY ZING!! I also had her Baileys Bread Pudding at the West Chester Restaurant Festival. TO DIE FOR! What a yummy place!
