I had been a customer of the Bagel Shop for number of years. Up until very recently only for the bagels, and occasional sandwich all of which were excellent. My son and I went for dinner: the experience was quite different and unpleasant. I ordered a Prime Rib medium rare, it was well done with not a trace of pink, I sent it back. Its replacement showed up also well done. When I asked for something different the waitress said "thats the best he can do." So I ordered another dish. The waitress was attentive and doing her best.. My son had ordered the Manicotti, took one bite and thought it was bland and that the cheese mix was tasteless. He went and got the waitress so he could order something else. At this juncture a man sitting table away from me told us that was the way they got it. I responded quietly that didnt matter to me, the food was not up to par. He then told us in a loud voice , "You dont like the food, all you do is complain, just get out of here." I did and I wont be back. At no time in talking to the waitress did either my son or I raise our voices. The quality of the food was sub-par. The attitude displayed by the owner was horrible, instead of finding out what we were concerned about and solving the problem, he escalated a complaint from a long-time customer into lost business.

Good food, Great & Kind Neighbor - I have dietary restrictions and I love the fact they server breakfast all day. When the wife is at work and the kids are hungry, well go there and its always been a good experience. The owner is also very kind. I work in NYC and drove home in a blizzard. I made all the way but couldnt get up union mill as the highway plowed a berm as large as my car blocking the way. I thought I would have to back track and look for a hotel. (3:30am). I saw the owner plowing lot. I ask if I could park & sleep there till morning. He said yes. When he finished the lot, he offered me a ride home. He went out of his way to help me. Ill be returning the kindness as much as I can and be going to the bagel shop a lot more now.

The owners of this fine establishment took my band in like we were family when our vans transmission exploded and did everything they could to make sure we made it to our show in Amityville, NY on time. Not only is it a great family restaurant, with amazing portions and good food, but an amazing new family when we are on the road. We will stop there whenever we can on our way through. - Just A Memory

Very fresh and very friendly service! Also -- great prices! I ordered a sympathy basket with tons of items in it for half of what I wouldve paid in Scranton.

Delicious diner faire with a bagel twist. Each entree is served with a large bagel chip. Good food and owned by a great lady.
