The Saloon used to easily be the best place in the Red Lion area to eat. However, a few months ago, they changed their menu, and now they are offering basically the same food at significantly increased prices. They must be embarrassed of their menu because they dont even publish it on their website! For example, chicken pasta dish which used to cost $11-$12 now costs $15-$16, they just tweaked the sauce a bit, or substituted mushrooms for peas in the dish, or something like that, but its basically the same dish. They also got rid of many of their more affordable sandwiches, like $7 wraps, and replaced them with just a couple more expensive sandwich/burger options for $10-$11 or so. Its very disappointing because we used to go here regularly, but have only been once this year (back in February, which is when we found out about their menu change). The food still tastes good, but Im not sure why they think they are entitled to a 25-30% increase in their prices when they are still putting out the same product, and most of us arent making 25-30% more salary due to inflation.

I love the saloon. Its such a great place to eat. Ive never had a problem getting seated as some other reviewers have mentioned, I never had to wait more than two minutes. I usually get a salad, fried shrimp, broccoli and mashed potatoes. The salad is good, but annoyed they do not have french dressing. The fried shrimp are large and they have no problem bringing extra horseradish (I like my cocktail sauce to bite lol). The best part is the mashed potatoes.. theyre thick and solid, not all creamy like KFC and the gravy is absolutely awesome. I wish I could have a bottle of their gravy to keep at home for when I make potatoes :)

Really, REALLY good, I love this place! Ive had the penne rustica, the taverna chops, and texmex eggrolls, and I could go on and on about them. The penne rustica is my favorite comfort food, but the taverna chops with redskin mashed potatoes and gravy are a close second. We always split an order of texmex eggrolls, I recommend these to everyone. The scotch eggs look interesting, I want to try them but always chicken out at the last minute! Service has been good and fast every visit. Gini was our server last weekend, and she was so friendly and kept checking in on us. Well be back for sure. Probably this weekend!

Most of the time the food is good- particularly for Red Lion- IF you get the right order especially in take out. Literally EVERY time we have ordered from here in the past 3 years they have ruined the order. The last time and I do mean the very last time I ordered (or will ever order) from here they messed up 3 items in the order. As one other reviewer noted- at this establishment the customer is NOT always right and apparently is rarely right because even with a phone call to complain about the order no attempt was made to correct the burned chicken and 2 other mistakes on the order.

An unexpected find in an unlikely part of town. This restaurant gives you the feeling it belongs in downtown Denver, CO or Dallas, TX. Weve eaten here over the past 5 years or so and nothing disappoints. Well, Im disappointed they no longer have the Crab Stuffed Mushrooms as a starter. Luckily there are plenty of other great items. My wife will tell you the Seared Tuna here served on a slice of pizza pineapple is the best way shes ever had this dish. Is it too much to ask for the Firt Post to deliver their Seared Tuna the same way?

The ribs were awesome. I loved their Honey Bourbon BBQ sauce, and they served a full rack (no skimping) with 2 sides for $16.95. Service was great. The only complaint that I had was my wifes Chicken Breast was a bit salty when I tried it. Not worth picking on, I doubled up on the BBQ sauce which covered some of the salt, and it tasted great. Another member of my party had Salmon, and spoke highly of it. Ill definitely be back, but it will be hard for me to try something other than those ribs. They were great.

My husband and I always eat at the bar. The best service. Never had a meal that was bad. We really miss Deb she was the best. Alway made you feel that you were like family, made sure all at the bar were taken care of. The best bartender weve ever had. Sometimes it was 3 deep just waiting for a place to sit. Everyone we sit with have said they miss her. We all wish her the very best. She an Ryan made a great team. Ryan is also very good. Atmosphere is great. Id totally recommend The Great American Saloon

My beautiful woman had the French dip sandwich, when she gave me a taste,I stole half her meal. That was a five star meal( Im more pickier than a cat). I had the sausage rigatoni which seemed standard to my liking. The atmosphere was nice, but the servers and waitresses were not so welcoming or friendly. The seat I was in reminded me of my frat brothers couch..I was submerged and my 51 lady was towering me.Would I eat there again? Absolutely (for that meal). Hopefully Ill have a better booth seat.

Horrible service took over 20min just to get drinks! Ordering food and getting said food took another 45min! Saw waitress maybe 3 times in over an hour. When food arrived the waitress didnt know who to give what food to, or if it was even the right table. After the disaster of getting out food it tasted like garbage. Refused to take the leftovers home even to feed to the dog. Would avoid at all cost not to mention the 20$ a plate. Save your money and go to McDonalds across the street.

As it is one of very few restaurants in the area, Ive been here numerous times and every time its the same - horrible service (although pretty tasty food). Ive never had a quality server here - they always seem miserable and their performance shows it. From not getting drinks refilled to not ever getting the appetizer ordered....its always disappointing. Their food is pretty tasty and they have a large menu, but regardless the consistent poor service ruins the experience.

I had the Crab and Corn Fettuccine. It was completely delicious. The crab was succulent the corn tasty and the sauce and noodles dreamy. Our service was fantastic too, we didnt have to wait for a drink. Or the bread which was fantastic with the butter they make. Their prices are pretty much along the same lines as Applebees or Ruby Tuesdays BUT you get twice the amount of food AND its made fresh. I will be going back!!

Breakfast at Lions Pride is awesome at a good affordable price, as for lunch we are not impressed! However now over dinner the Saloon is the place to go, awesome steaks, ribs, and a great seafood menu to boot, and yet its still affordable for a family of 5! HIGHLY RECOMMEND BREAKFAST AND SUPPER AT LIONS PRIDE AND GREAT AMERICAN SALOON

The food is good but horrible customer service! Beginning from the hostlers all the way up until management. The logistic that they use to sit their customers doesnt make any sense. The order of people coming in does not seem to matter. One time I want there an hour before they closed and it just felt that I was rushed to leave.
