I would have left the stars blank-since they dont even deserve one, but I needed to put at least one for this review. My family and I recently went to the Piper Tavern to celebrate several occasions. Two engagements, an anniversary, and a birthday. Yes I understand that with recent weather conditions that more people are going out since weather permits it, but that is NO excuse for the poor service and HORRIBLY cooked food. Reservations were made for seven adults and two children. They sat us all at a small table where we were crowded next to each other and the hostess could only say "This is the best we can do with a full house..We didnt know that there were going to be nine people in your party." Last time I checked my math, seven adults and two children equals NINE people. The service from the waitress I WILL NOT blame on her. I Blame it on the manager or hostess. The waitress even said that she was new, and the last time I checked, its not a good idea to let a new server handle a large party on their own an a busy night. It took our actual entrees to get to us about an hour and forty-five minutes to reach our table. THEN we had to play musical plates. My oldest sister had to switch plates with my other sisters fiance, and my fiance had to switch plates with my middle sister...and my mother and I should have switched plates, but didnt. The only reason we didnt was because we ordered the same thing, only cooked differently. These cooks, and yes I say cooks because they DO NOT deserve to be called chefs in any way, CAN NOT COOK! My lamb that was supposed to be rare, was medium, and the lamb that my mom ordered was supposed to be medium, but was well done. Lets just say that after the UNCOMFORTABLE THREE HOUR sitdown at the Piper Tavern just plain flat out sucked! I told my waitress that I didnt want another lamb dish cooked, since it took soooo long for it to come to the table in the first place. We asked for it to be removed from the bill, and they would not remove it, but give me a gift certificate for the amount of the dish. Why in the hell would I want to go back to this place?? Unless it would be to talk to the manager in person and maybe the owner to say that they overcharge for the worst service I have ever had and crappy food.

Dinner Service 11.21.15 Great service, with fourteen people dining, celebrating a Mom / Grand Moms 80th. Entrees are served with salad, a square crispy roll and mixed veggies. The plating presentations reminded us of Mondrian compositions. Prices were reasonable; the filets ordered medium rare arrived at their requested temperature. At a distance, from the side, the filets resembled huge double burgers. After cooking the steaks measured about an inch and a half high by 5” diameter. Everyone enjoyed their seafood meals from Crab Cakes, Flounder Stuffed with Crabmeat thru Shrimp and Pasta. The bright white square and rectangle platters were accompanied when requested by large wine glasses nicely filled, followed by a small carafe. We brought a specially prepared cake which was sliced carefully. The extras were generously divided into very nice boxes for family members to take home. Tax tags and title the bill was just over 60 per person including tip. . Thanks to the Pipersville Tavern / (Inn) for helping our family enjoy a Significant Birthday Celebration for a special lady!. I have been a fairly frequent patron of this place and the food for the most part has been pretty good. I am a Prime Rib eater and tend to judge overall quality by the Prime Rib, (call me crazy). My wife has always been a moderate fan, usually going for me. Im not sure if the management or ownership has recently changed, but a remarkable difference. Service was less than great, understaffed and in a hurry. The Prime Rib was about as bland and chewy as I have ever eaten. Cant remember the last time I had Prime Rib with a pronounced taste of Italian seasoning....not good. My wife was equally disappointed with her dish, the Chicken Marsala. To top it off, because we left quite a bit on the plates, there were no bags to put the "take home". So we walked out literally with 5 small boxes and a half drank bottle of wine, corked. Felt like a homeless vagrant. Would not recommend and will not return. Too many other good places to go. Looking at the other reviews, we may be in the minority here, but check out the dates of the visits. I think they have changed something, management, chefs or both.

On New Years Day night with friends from out of town, we experienced the Pipers Tavern for the first time. Needless to say, we were hoping that the culinary experience would be relaxing, warm, friendly, and the cuisine exceptional. The experience was all that we hoped it would be and even more. The "even more" part was our exceptional waitress Ann. Her warmth, friendliness, humor, and professional manner were the catalyst that made possible a perfect dining experience. We have since returned, and the second experience was as delightful as the first. We once again had Ann as our server. I think we will consider the Pipers Tavern first when we are planning to dine out. And, of course, request Ann as our server. David and John

My husband and I went for the second happy hour to have a light meal. Service was ok and the food was fine. When we went to present our Piper Tavern Club card for points we were informed they no longer are having that program. I asked how would I have known since I have been a member for several years. I was told it is printed on their menu. I told the waitress, I had looked on line at the menu to check the website and nothing was there and as a courtesy to loyal customers, I feel a notices should have been sent. She told me, sorry, but maybe you can use the card to as a paint scraper. Not likely to go back here.

Great food and excellent service. Their snapper soup is the very best around. The menu is great and its hard to find a better value for an excellent meal with quality ingredients freshly prepared. Great price point from appetizers to entries to deserts. Im looking forward to taking the family there for Easter Dinner. Gregg and the whole team are dedicated to provide fine dining at a fair price. Kurt G Preston Heckler Liquid Disposal LLC

Ive been to the Piper Tavern several times for lunch, but never for dinner. They have a fantastic cobb salad and one of the best snapper soups Ive ever had. Ive always sat at a table by the bar which was very comfortable and the service was just fine - some wait staff better than others - I enjoy a friendly server instead of stoic professional, but all-in-all, not bad.

Excellent experience. The menu was extensive. The timing of soup, salad, entree was perfect. I did not feel rushed and had plenty of time to just enjoy. My steak was excellent. I really liked the peppercorn horse radish glaze. My wife had a crab disk that was quite tasty. Not only was i moved to make a review, Ive also shared my experience with others. Great job!
