I have been here several times and highly recommend this place if you are looking for a relaxed atmosphere where you can enjoy happy hour or a meal with a friend. Every Tuesday they have an amazing deal on their mussels: only $2 for a dozen (and you can get as many dozen as you like at that price)! This deal goes all day and they also offer $4 wine throughout the day as well. In terms of food, their pizza is delicious! If you are a fan of flat, crispy cracker-like crusts, then this is the spot for you. Along with the pizza, their crab cake sandwich is a big thumbs-up. For about $12 you get a good sized sandwich that has plenty of crab (well picked through, no shell). The side salad that came with the sandwich was really good too; their house vinaigrette was one of the bet house dressings Ive had in a long time. This is a great place to go for casual, intimate dining with family or friends and an equally good place for the solo happy hour goer.

cold & racist staff, although I am white many a friend had an offensive & poor experience. Very weak drinks not worth it. Place you go with your girl if you want to share her with six likeminded bros all in salmon color variant shorts. FB review said "best place to get drugged by your bartender" I believe it with signs out front like "I like by beer like I like my violence..domestic", how you gonna spend 100 on make up and let a broke dude *** on your face?" "dont send nudes send a pic of medicine cabinet so he knows what hes dealing with (sweeping gender assumptions, as if those pricks arent the 1st ones sending out their genitals), something joke about a rag smelling like CHOLORFORM, and something about naming a daughter paul since no dude will want to hook up with her.Guess thats their personal choice, but mine is to not waste money on subpar beverages and service from venemous people.

While I have at times with friends frequented Smiths, we wont be coming here again. As people in Phillys LGBQT community and women, were exhausted of the bars cheap misogynistic and sexist shots at women and queers on their sign in the window. Even though the owner has been kind in saying it wont happen again... Its been five years of "It wont happen again" Five years. Smiths, clean up your act. Take responsibility for your staff. Its old. Youve chosen self preservation over community. And wether or not you agree, today Philadelphia enacted a law putting tougher penalties on businesses that discriminate against people based on race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, and class. This has been a long time in the making, organized by people who have risked their comfort and safety for something much larger than themselves. Please think about that.

I was in Rittenhouse looking for somewhere to dine and passed this place. It seemed like an option until I saw the Caitlyn Jenner "joke" sign others have posted, which was grossly offensive to say the least. I actually called them about it the next day and they said theyd taken it down after the first complaint and apologized. I thought they were sincere but Ive since come to learn that they put up a new "joke" every day, and they are often incredibly offensive. Numerous ones have been rape jokes, like: "Pick up line of the day: ask your date, hey does this rag smell like chloroform?" So this lets me know they ARENT sorry, and they think this kind of thing is okay. Obviously I will never set foot inside.

Watch your drinks here because the staff sure wont. Im not sure if theyre all so ignorant or if they truly enjoy abusing their customers and anyone who might pass. The owners and staff encourage violence and misogyny with their decor. They clearly spend more time thinking of insulting phrases than keeping the restaurant up to par. This terrible excuse for a bar/restaurant blatantly displays their lack of respect for all of humanity. Signs like "I like my beer like I like my violence, domestic" and "now that were married its technically "our" vagina" do nothing but encourage and stimulate rape culture.

Dont feel safe drinking or eating in a place where the staff think domestic violence and demeaning women is, "funny and meaningless." By the managers own admission, the staff choose what to write on their front window advertisements... so when they write things like, "I like my beer like I like my violence... domestic," these arent staff I trust not to turn their head or even be complicit with violence occurring in their establishment.

This place is great. We were traveling through on thanksgiving and couldnt find any place open. Just happened to come across Smiths. Decided to try it and are so happy no one else was open. Heather, the bartender, took great care of us. Top notch. Crowd in the bar was very easy going (were Detroit fans in a Philly bar - could have been bad for us) and we had some great conversation. Would highly recommend.

Avoid this place at all costs. Aside from the lack of decent service, the staff forgetting youre even there, and not even mediocre food, if you can get past all that, youll see the promotion of domestic violence, racism, sexism, classism, and the management thinks its all great because its funny. Its vile! I would hate for someone to visit this place and be triggered by the signage.

Having walked by a ton of times, I decided to finally go in and Im so glad I did. Everything Ive tried on the menu was delicious and cooked perfectly. Definitely dont miss the guac! As a self-prescribed beer snob, I was really impressed with their selection. I also went to a wine tasting with really good wines and the food there was also fantastic! Highly recommended!

Ive never eaten here so I cant speak to the food, but I never will eat here because they think violence against women is a cute marketing tactic. "I like my beer like I like my violence: domestic" was their sign out front. I dont think joking about something as tragic and ugly as beating women should be acceptable.

This is a Pats bar on Sundays and it gets PACKED. They have great game day specials ($10 pizzas and $5 boneless wings) and their food is actually really good (but skip the calamari). Their servers sometimes get overwhelmed but are always pleasant and really do their best.

Smiths is basically a sports bar, but they have above-average food. The turkey chili was fantastic, and the guacamole and wings were good too. The beer selection wasnt huge but was pretty good. Was great for hanging out, eating some good food, and watching football.

a nice place and pretty low key. It was mostly men in there the day i went. I liked the chillness of it all and the food was good. If you want a nice place with sports on the tvs this a great place and very few of the citys uptight whiny woman.

I ordered the nachos which was more than I thought for the happy hour price. The Whiskey Flight is a nice chance of pace basically $12 for 3 whiskey shots. The mesquite wings were very good.

Quite good food, nice atmosphere, standard beers on tap. Friendly service, too. Its a little noisy, but the Eagles were kicking some butt, so the noise level might be related to the game.
