What stands out about La Famiglia is not so much the food, which comes across as quite adequate for an upscale, somewhat expensive restaurant, but more the atmosphere, which borders on creepy and may indeed come straight out of a scene from "the Shining" rather than an Italian fine-dining establishment. The wait-staff was equally as "creepy," as they have a penchant for standing around glaring at customers as they try and enjoy their meal. While the flavors were interesting and complex, the portions were small and inadequate given that the restaurant strives toward traditional Italian cuisine; we found the food overpriced and highly oversold. Probably wouldnt warrant a return visit.

We had our wedding here. It was incredible. We came in a few months before to eat and check the place out. My husband had wild boar, I had pasta, the food was simply outstanding, one of the nicest restaurants weve ever been to; the staff wait on you in groups, the second your water is low they refill it without asking and with you hardly noticing, they pour your wine from the bottle and leave it next to you, the food is low fat, not overly salted, and the cheff relies on skill rather than calories to make the meal taste astonishing. Simply the best place Ive ever eaten at. Also, they have the best wine list in Philadelphia, and you can ask for a wine cellar tour.

My husband and I dined here for our first wedding anniversary. We were in town visiting good friends and we were so glad to have received this restaurant recommendation from the concierge at our hotel. When we arrived, the owner greeted us and congratulated us on our anniversary. He sat us at a special table and every server who came by wished us a happy anniversary as well. The service was excellent and our glasses were never empty. I highly recommended this restaurant on all counts! You wont be disappointed!

Deliver claim they couldnt find my job worst customer service the owner came in and was fussing at me, when I told him the address and he was like its wrong its wrong just fussing and it was highly a turn off. I wont be ordering again that was a huge No for me. To top it off if you cant find my place of work then call and check and make sure that you know where you are going.

Just enjoyed my first meal here and I was blown away. Top-notch culinary talent, everything was cooked to perfection. The waitstaff was superb with a phenomenal attention to detail. Whether a special night out or if youre looking to spoil yourself for the night, this is the place. Absolutely wonderful! Highly recommend the gnocchi!

A fabulous surprise, we chose this spot based on the suggestion of our hotel concierge. The atmosphere was old-school luxury, the wait staff was attentive and the food was beyond compare. The wine cellar is huge and houses a historic fresh water spring. Lovely, I look forward to visiting there again!

I highly recommend their calamari! It was very good! The atmosphere is very upscale and the staff is polite. We went here during lunch and were out in less than an hour, which was very convenient. Their lunch menu was also very reasonably priced. I would definitely go here again!

Probably the best Italian food we have had in the United States. We were in Philadelphia for 4 days and we ate there twice because it was fabulous and staff so attentive. This is a true dining experience. It would be a mistake not experience it.

Old school decor, tuxedo wearing waiters, good service, though they seemed understaffed on a busy Saturday night. Pretty basic Italian menu. Well prepared, reasonably priced. Very nice wine list.

Large portions of extremely tasty food. Loved the filet mignon. Must try the mixed green salad! The mushrooms in the salad are AMAZING! I have to figure out how they are prepared.
