This was the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. I was there with my friend who was celebrating a big win for himself and his company. First we were greeted by an angry hostess, yelling at other employees to get several tables ready. As we sat down excited about the view and food of course, our waiter "J" greeted us and immediately me and my friend thought something was off, he was speaking very slowly and was difficult to understand in fact because my friend didnt understand him regarding the different sizes the prime rib that was available ( the prime rib he convinced my friend was better than the filet) My friend said jokingly " I’m sorry "J" maybe I’m not understanding you because I had a drink before I got here". Apparently this was the only thing our waiter understood. My friend then ordered 2 glasses of wine and when ordering a shot for me and him the waiter said that he was cutting him off........ A waiter cutting someone off? Didnt make sense. Regardless he wouldnt serve him any more alcohol even though we both were sober and confirmed that we had taken an Uber there and plan to do the same to go home (sober enough to remember what happened in detail to write this review). So on top of it all the prime rib came out and it was the worst cut of prime rib I have ever seen. It was nothing but fat and I know prime rib is fatty but this was more than anyone should present on a plate. NEEDLESS TO SAY THE SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE, THEY BELIEVE THEY ARE MAKING APPROIATE JUDGMENT CALLS REGARDING AN INDIVIDUAL’S ALCOHOL INTAKE BUT IT SEEMED MORE LIKE DISCRIMATION TO ME. I WOULDNT RECCOMEND THIS RESTAURANT TO ANYONE. UNLESS OF COURSE YOU WANT TO HAVE YOUR CELEBRATION RUINED BY THE SOBRIETY PATROL AND INEDIABLE FOOD.

We had our anniversary dinner at the Chart House in Philadelphia on 8-27, 2016 for our 36 year wedding anniversary at 5:00 pm reservations. The atmosphere, parking, managers presence at the table a few times and food was all outstanding and exceptional. The only major problem we had was with our waiter, "Jeffery". Problems with horrible waiter were: Did not give us any bread - at the end of the meal, I said doesnt the restaurant give bread anymore and then I got it and he said he forgot; gave us our check while we were still eating and said sorry, they were overbooked - like that is my problem; charged us for 3 stella beers and we only had 2 so the bill needed to be corrected; rushed us through dinner; never asked us if we wanted dessert; was sloppy dressed; said to order the chicken which he orders a lot because they get 50% off of food and thats the cheapest thing on the menu. I felt like all they wanted to do was push us out so the meal was less then one hour. I was hoping for a more relaxed dinner out, especially after we drove 1 hour away to get there. In spite of all that, I graciously gave 20% tip because thats who I am. The waiter was not professional looking or acting at all and felt very stressed through the entire dinner.

The Staff was pretty nice and attentive.. The food wasnt that good but fine. The valet though was horrible. The charthouse really should invest in business with another company or hire new workers. So we pull up for my boyfriends birthday and is approached by the man working in valet... he never asks us could he park our car or anything but just tells us we have to park all the way to the back. So at first my boyfriend pulled off to go park the car but I told him to ask him isnt he valet. So we back up and my boyfriend asks him isnt their valet being as though the sign is sitting literally smack in our face but he never offered. So he rudely asks do you have a reservation ? We respond yes so he then says we work for tips in the most rude way. For one no one asked you that. And technically the valet was "complimentary" so to tip while expected it is still up to the customer. So because I had no intention on tipping him after how he handled us we went to self park at the total end of the restaurant. The woman was also running through the parking lot hollering at customers about where they were parking. I will not return.

We have been to the Chart House several times and we have always had a pleasant experience. The atmosphere is lovely however the service on the night of September 18th was horrible. We sat down and it took the waitress 15 minutes before we were even acknowledged. I ordered Prime Rib well done and it came out red and bloody. I had to send it back. It came back again and the outside was brown (hooray) but when I cut it - you guessed it - it was still red inside. I just left it on my plate and ate the potatoes. Service was sooo slow. I ordered coffee and it was cold - back it went. Then dessert came and I ordered an apple and cherry crisp and it tasted like someone dumped a shaker of salt in it. Our total bill came to $130.00 which we normally would not mind paying but when you have to come home and get something to eat because you are still hungry - $130.00 is a lot to pay. We will now find another restaurant to go to. This use to be a gret restaurant but has not gone down hill.

I made a reservation three week in advance for 15 people just call to make sure they can accommodate us when we arrive, because maybe 17 may show. A guy name Rick answer the phone I explain to him the reason of my call he was so rude and ignorant telling me he needed to talk to his host this reservation shouldnt been made i need a contract and a deposit he was so nasty to me I asked to speak to a supervisor, he said Im the only supervisor here and everyone going to say the same thing and he hung up right on me not once did I get smart or talk to him nasty my boss was sitting right in front of me heard the whole conversation he heard my boss in the background asking me whats going on Im like a mess he said no mess i will cancel your reservation. Im so upset right now cause its my husbands 45th birthday and I have people coming out of town. We come here often and this is how they treat their guest . Thanks Rick i hope this made your happy not once did I get smart with you.

My family and I went to the Chart house yesterday for an early dinner to celebrate my graduation from Temple University. We have been here before and were looking forward to returning. The food and drinks were excellent and we had a beautiful view of the water. However, our server was very off. The restauraunt was empty, but he was running around and perfusely sweating and looked very pale. He had trouble communicating and made us all very uncomfortable. It was clear he was on some type of narcotics. We did not mention this to the manager who stopped by to check on us because the food was great and we did not want to make the server feel uncomfortable but for a high end restaurant we expected high end service. We have celebrated many special occasions at the Chart House and hope to continue to do so without that kind of service. It was very disappointing.
