This is the first restaurant my family and I got to experience in our first visit to Cape May. First impressions of the facility was all around ok. Its laid back, beachy and the wait time for a table of 5 was relatively fast. We were able to get drinks during the wait while we played a game of Corn hole on their beach. We got an appetizer that was served with all paper utensils except the silverwear. The crab dip was ok. Different but definitely got eatten by us all. Our waiter was friendly. Plenty of people working there. The meals came out fast but all around stunk. We all wanted to like it but the 3 outta 5 dinners were not up to par with other seafood places we have eatten that were similar in style. Two of the 3 that were unsatisfied were their dinner specials. Too pricey and people are right. The location is what I believe to be their selling point.

Harpoon is the quintessential beach-side seafood shack for Cape May. It certainly isn’t high scale but also doesn’t pretend to be what it isn’t. From the large porch with plastic tables to the big bar and live music sometimes, it’s a great place to be for dinner with a view of the sunset over the bay, the sea breeze, and some pretty good seafood. The coconut shrimp were tasty, but not quite as shrimp flavor forward as might be expected at a seafood place. Similar was the coconut grouper, though a little less focussed on the coconut and fried flavors, so the fish came through a bit more. They even offer onion rings measured by the foot. Service is decent, but nothing too special. The beer selection has a few local craft beers which is nice, but the choices seemed a bit odd for a warm summer day with seafood as several were fairly heavy.

After reading several negative reviews we were leery of trying Harpoon Henrys but since it was within walking distance from where we were staying we thought we give it a try. Boy are we glad we took that walk. The place was great the service was quick and friendly, our food was delivered quickly and was hot and tasty, all in all we had a enjoyable evening. I had the signature crabcakes string beans and mashed potatoes. The crabcakes were awesome the string beans were farm fresh and yes I had real mashed potatoes with lumps. Im not sure where the negative reviewer ate but I dont think they ate at Harpoon Henrys because the food we had was fresh and very good. Definitely a must stop if your in the area. We will be returning real soon

We walked out after finally getting drinks, we were there an hour and watched some come and go without even getting waited on. Did they get new owners? There were also people who got waited on right away and ate and left. Perhaps its only for locals and not vacationers. After throwing some money on the table and leaving the waitress said she had put our order in but by then the family had had it. Walking to the car in their parking lot we see a guy with an apron walk out of the kitchen and go over to pay the dominos guy who was I guess delivering his lunch. At least he got to eat. Used to love the place but I wont go back again. ever!

A local legend! We recently had the pleasure & honor of being married on the bay across from Harpoon Henrys and held our reception at the impeccably located venue. Teresa is quite experienced + skilled in organizing such events and was a delight to work with. All the staff was incredible, the DJs recommended by Harpoons were perfect (and Im not one that generally cares for DJs), the food was hot + delicious, and Ive never seen people having more fun at a wedding before in my life. If youre looking for a super laid back & friendly place just to relax or hold one hell of a party, look no further. You wont be disappointed!

The food was pretty good, not amazing but still good. The waitress was really nice and attentive. The ambiance was great, love the layout, simpleness and location. The talent that night was Michael James- Truly enjoyable The only complaint I had were the bus boys. There is not an abundance of room to move around so having 4 of them walking is close proximity to our tables with their dirty dish buckets was pretty annoying. Have them stand off to the side (not blocking the scenic views) and then only go out to remove dishes when needed, not stroll through the tables constantly. Aside from that we will certainly be back again

We were not aware the outside 8 tables were for families with dogs. There is no notice on the website, at the hostess stand on on the railing. Once we sat down and ordered 3 other families sat down with dogs. One little yippie dog and 2 big white Siberian dogs. As we ate fur flew by and we lost our appetite when the dog started washing its balls. We are animal lovers, but do not think it is necessary to bring dogs to a restaurant. It is not sanitary and is against the law in many places. You lost us as customers.

Live music nice, not too loud. Great view of sunset. Crab cake DOES have filler, but the bigger problem is that they are bland at best, lacks seasoning. Onion rings excellent, burgers excellent. Had both Maryland crab and crab corn...they were ok, crab corn much better. The homemade chips did not even have salt, (or none that was detectable) otherwise they would have had a real winner. Fish and chips also very good. Service was fine. Locals bring dogs to outside dining...Very cool.

Terrible food. Husband got wings, they were the worst hes ever had. I got chicken fingers. They were terrible. Maybe the seafood was better but apps were gross. The flies are abundant too! Pricey for poor quality. Only thing good about this place was playing the "corn hole" game while waiting for your table. Also wondering why the owners only respond to positive reviews, they should really address the negative ones, too!

Over priced food. Started with house salad and was about to give my 3 year old the cucumber and it was mushy and covered in clear slime. Had a party of 6 adults and 3 kids. Mother in law got a kale salad and was only kale and pieces of carrots. Father in law got same salad and had veggies with kale. Told hostess and she seemed like she could care less. It was disgusting and over priced for what we got.

Probably hands down the best seafood I have ever had. I had the crab cake stuffed mahi-mahi with the chipotle cream sauce. Absolutely amazing. The staff was great, the atmosphere was fun. There was a live band tonight which added to the excitement and ambiance. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who asked. I hope they still have this dish next year when we come back!

This place is really in business because of their location. Its the only bar/restaurant on this strip and they take full advantage of that. Zero customer service, food was .. Gross and greasy at best and the bathrooms were disgusting! We were warned by various locals but decided to take a chance, how badly can they screw up wings? Well pretty badly. What a dump! Stay away
