Large selection of flavored moonshine, beer, and liquor. We only had mixed drinks and a couple shots but they were poured using those shot jiggers which I hate. The drinks werent strong at all, not that we were looking for the strongest drinks in town, but when you pour an ounce of liquor in with ice and 12 oz of soda/mixer/juice, its really a waste. The bartenders were friendly but it would have been nice to see them pouring drinks and shots without measuring every single ingredient. Literally poured my shot into the jigger and then poured it into the glass. May try this place again and try the moonshine since it is called bootleggers and there are probably 15-20 flavors. Hopefully they live up to the strength of "moonshine". Being from an area that real moonshine has historically been made for generations, I hope so. Was just turned off after the first round of drinks to stay any longer. Lighting and atmosphere were nice, but I just couldnt get over the drink making having been a bartender myself before. Message to owner: dont have your bartenders using a jigger to measure liquor in a bar. Have them practice with water until they get their pouring down if its that much of a problem. I didnt know if I was in a bar or an Applebees....

First off theres no one greeting people at the door. Secondly, Im writing this review as I sit In regret that I even ordered food from this place. The atmosphere is as dry as our waitress (Katie), who forgot to even mention her name. Shes dropping stuff off at our table like a drive by which I could understand if there were a ton of customers demanding service. It doesnt take much effort to deliver half decent customer service, or so I thought. Every waitress seems lost like theres nothing to do but check Instagram feeds. The catty nature of the waitresses is super apparent as they talk about one another as one walks away. None of this I would have cared about if my drink was here (its been 15 mins easy). I promise that even if the earth opens up its mouth and swallows every restaurant ever made, that I wont ever come back here. Ill hunt animals first. Steer away from this place unless youre not in the mood to hear your waitress voice. P.S. the drinks are finally here and theyre TRASH.

Ive been here a few times before and had a great time. However, because of the Mayweather McGregor fight we were told we had to leave before 7:45 if we were eating. To put this into perspective, we arrived at 6 and were told to pick a table, but it took close to 20 mins for someone to serve us and waited an additional 15 mins for the drinks to arrive even after asking multiple times. We also waited for and asked several times for water, that again, took the same amount of time as our other drinks to arrive. The bar wasnt packed by any stretch of the imagination either. This wouldve been forgivable because we planned on getting food, but we were told (by around 7 at this point) that most of the bar was reserved, and that if we ordered food we would need to leave by 7:45. Nothing was posted outside of the bar other than a poster for the fight, but nothing indicating the bar was reserved. So we left and took the rest of business to 2nd Story Brewing. Go there instead.

I had a groupon for this restaurant/bar for $50 worth of food. We got there late on a weeknight so the place wasnt crowded. There was a dj and though the bar is pretty dark the atmosphere is ok. You seat yourself and the employees attend to you. So we ordered sat there enjoying the music. Twenty minutes go by and nothing. Not even the drink I ordered. The drink comes like ten minutes later and is weeeeeeeeeeeak, didnt taste a drop of moonshine. Waste of $12. The food comes in another fifteen minutes. I notice other people are waiting too and even sending food back. The dj packs up around 10:20pm so were staring at the walls. The food is ok. The salad I ordered was good but overpriced and the Mac and cheese hardly had any crab on it. The steak kabob was chewy and dry. If I didnt have a groupon I would have left. I do not recommend this place. Poor service. Mediocre food. Overpriced.

This place is the worst. I won a FREE bachelorette party at this venue through 96.5 radio station. After a month I did not hear from the venue I contacted 96.5. They informed me that I should hear from the venue regarding the party (basically they did their part so dont contact them anymore). I then called the venue 3x to speak to someone and their staff has no clue what Im talking about and advised me to call back at 6pm when the "MANAGER" was in. I did that I was on hold for 20 mins waiting for someone to come to the phone. Then on December 18th I received a call from someone at JJ Bootleggers regarding the party and that I should receive an email from them. Well here it is January and still no email. They are full of ****. Moral of the story if you dont want to give out "FREE" events dont do it. 96.5 needs to stop promoting this place it makes them look bad also.

Went for the food bank bar crawl and was a little disappointed with the "specials" that were being offered. In addition the written draft list was not up to date but the digital one (that cycled through) was. So you had to wait till it came up, read it, remember it, and then order (slightly annoying). Connect four at the bar, which is a great crowd pleasure, and adult sized jenga (which was annoying when all the pieces of wood fall down). Good amount of tvs for watching sports.

JJ Bootleggers provides a novel experience with poor execution. Not being a moonshine person originally, it excited me to try something a little bit different in Old City. Accordingly, JJ Bs lists about a dozen moonshine inspired remixes of your typical bar drinks. If only the creativity continued passed the concept! The food is par for the area, however, the prices are not. Its as though we are paying more for the imitation of a bar, rather than the original.

Went here for lunch one day since I was always passing by on my way to work. The lightning lunch special has a decent selection of things that you can get for the $9. Each thing comes with fries and a drink. Server recommended the chicken tacos and I was very impressed with the quality of the food used. Everything tasted fresh and the Chipotle mayo was really good! Definitely recommend coming here if you have a half hour or so for lunch!

Loud country music was the only jarring note. My wife read somewhere to try the cheesesteak egg rolls. I was suspicious, but they turned out to be amazing. We each had cocktails as the waitress was kind enough to say, "Happy hour ends in 5 minutes. Want something?" The beer I wanted turned out to be out if stock. Brussell sprouts were great. And a cheesesteak sandwich was passable. Overall, a good experience.

We went on the day of Bar Crawl Nation and honestly this place had the best atmosphere of all the bars. It was lively but in a good way and everyone had a good time. They have a wide selection of drinks and games for the tables to play at while they drink and eat. There was a group having a bachelor party dressed in different video game character costumes. It was an awesome time.
