Rude Rude Rude!... I was there with my cousin for lunch and she ordered the8.99 lunch special. The special came with a cup of soup. When we received the check the 8.99 lunch special was on the check as 11.49. We asked the cashier( also the manager) about the error ( or so we thought) and was advised that there was an upcharge of4.49 for the French onion soup and that with the special its discounted to 2.00. We advised her that its not written on the menu or the receipt. She then proceeded to show us where it is written on their checkout screen and how it automatically does the up charge and subsequent discount. I asked her how would someone that does not work here know that, and her response was simply... "Well thats why I am showing you now". We then asked her whether or not she was going to make the correction on the check, and at that point she said it wasnt her fault and that the waitress shouldve told us ( as if the waitress was an independent contractor not employed by the diner). She then said she would take it off " this time" as if she was doing us a favor. There will not be a next time !! I would rather eat where people treat their customers with respect and own their mistakes as an establishment! Her tone was sarcastic and condescending and was quite annoyed when we asked for her boss information.

This place is OK. The area has really come up over the years. They have no booze which puts the Oregon and Penrose way ahead as far as diners go in my book. It was the craziest thing to they gave me the worst looking plate of slop in had ever seen. It looked like someone threw it up. I reluctantly packed it up and took it home, put it in the fridge and the next day ....omg... It was the best food Ive ever had. It warmed up so well. I put it over rice because there was a lot of juice and wow..... I could not believe it. Some foods are just like that I guess. This place might have actually gotten 4 stars if it were not for the rat rumors and the fact that it was about 37 degrees where we were sitting. Under a vent. Trying to drink shakes lol. Gotta love a south philly diner just this one is not #1 in my book.

This diner is the pitts!!! they want you to order what they want you to eat. I wanted to eat a small portion so I decided to order off the kids menu. And the waitress said I cant order off the kids menu because the cook doesnt like it. What kind of mess is that? I never ever heard of that before in all my years of dining out. Unbelievable, really? Then she informed me that she only makes $2 an hour, what does her wages have to do with what I want to order and eat? It became obvious to me that the workers here at this diner is Ignorant and rude. Me and my family will never come back here. I like to eat at places that gives me the freedom to order whatever i want.

I really love going to the Broad St Diner since theyve re-opened. It used to be somewhat of a dump back in the day, but its definitely changed since the makeover! I go at least once every couple weeks (during the week around 8 AM before work), and the staff is always very friendly and quick. Its never chaotic or crowded either, which adds to the relaxing ambiance. The food is a good deal for the money and its always a nice way to start the work day. Some of the nicest servers Ive experienced at a diner in a LONG time :)

The food is great, if you like to feel like crap after a meal and want to puke all night. The ambiance is what makes this a true dump! I loved seeing the pregnant waitress out back smoking in the alley, and tacky decor throughout. Definitely screams philly (since south philly in itself is a tacky craphole filled with the ugliest people in the world). DONT EAT THE CHICKEN PARM!

Food wasnt what I anticipated based on the reviews. I had the roast turkey with stuffing, not very flavorful at all, and they give you like one scoop of mash potato and plenty of the gross stuff like Brussels sprouts and weird stuffing. For $13.49 the food should of been way better its as if an old person cooked it had ZERO flavor and brussle sprouts is just nasty.

They do sandwiches and lunch items much better than breakfast. They make terrible hollandaise and always overcook/burn omelettes. They really need to step up their breakfast game. Coffee is meh. I mean, I realize its a diner and not a 5 star restaurant but I expect great things from diners. At least their Turkey Rachel is on point. Service is always friendly.

Broad Street Diner cures what ails you. Hot coffee, huge portions, and friendly servers. Food arrives fresh and fast, and the breakfast menu is comprehensive. Dont go here for fancy dishes or candlelit meals, but do go here for hot and delicious breakfasts that will fill your belly. Theres never a bad time to go to Broad Street Diner.

Have tried to give this establishment several attempts as it is so close to where I live. Food quality is awful and not even eatable. Service is average to what you would expect in a diner, but good luck on getting a refill. I would strongly suggest going the extra distance to the City Diner on South St and Broad.

Beautiful dinner with great eats, but I gave up on this place late nights. Why? This night manger (middle-age, glasses, FAKE red hair, Black) will not shut-up or stop hounding the staff long enough for me to get my meal before it freezes. Even then I cant even taste the food with all her BS in the background.

I loved the blueberry pancakes & turkey sausage I had there w/ a nice friend on 2013-07-15. This was my first time here since about 1992 when my parents & I went there somewhat often. Nothing fancy but this diner does the main job of making our bodies happy! :-)

Stopped in for breakfast on a Sunday, service was quick and efficient, ambience is as expected being a diner, and the French toast was perfectly done. Ill definitely be back when Im in the mood for a simple down-to-earth good diner breakfast.

The place is cute and our waitress was sweet but unfortunately my Greek salad was mediocre and my husband ordered eggs with toast that was black and inedible. The worst thing was that my salad had a long, curly hair in it (not mine)! Ugh...
