My father, Claude Alan Benevento, and I, Claude Richard Benevento, went to Weis Market Store #63 on 441 West Main Street in Mount Joy, PA on 6-13-15 at 1:30 PM. We walked back to the meat department and saw a pre-packaged container of chipped beef steak wrapped in cellophane. This steak was discolored with brown spots and heavily aged areas. The meat in the package was horrifying to another young lady who walked up beside us and was appalled by the scene of almost rotten meat sitting on top of the rest of the meat. This product did contain a $3.00 off sticker, which slashes the original $5.99 price in half. However, this does not provide an explanation for why aged, discolored, and nearly rotten meat is being presented to the public, who unlike my father and I, are not chefs and are uneducated to what bad meat looks like. This product was a public health and safety issue. We brought the product up to the front and asked that it be removed from the stock. The meat manager, a middle-aged lady with broken english, refused to consult with us on the issue. The assistant manager, Steve, came over and claimed that he would eat that product. The store was hesitant to give us contact information to corporate, and told us not to disturb the other customers. We were NOT disturbing the customers, however when other customers witness managers of Weis Market defending the decision of putting nearly rotten meat on the stock, it might put a bad taste in someones mouth. It has been rumored that this issue is not an isolated situation. We ask that someone could please investigate the Mount Joy Weis meat management and ethics, including the actual product they are serving and the employees representing this branch of Weis market in the meat department. We are reporting this to help the public stay safe and so that Weis can ensure "Quality Service Since 1912".

I used shop at several Weis markets. Product selection and prices are good. However, its very frustrating to go to the checkout and bag my own groceries while the teenage employees are chatting. They act extremely annoyed to have a customer interrupt their conversation about last nights date etc. Weis Markets needs to put a new training program in place. Many people would like to have a job, and surely would do a better job with customer service. One time I had to say to the cashier "Excuse me, will you please ring up my purchases?" The response was "yeah, OK" She continued her conversation without even looking at me. I now shop at Darrenkamps- the service is great!

I find the prices to be lower then giant but there are things that make this place undesirable for me. If you want produce that was grown this year wise is not for you. If you would like to be checked out within 20minutes this is not the place for you. Old lady likes to double bag and tie knots in the handles to make your day that much more shi%%ty. Overall wise could very easily be a better place to shop then giant but chooses not to be.

We like to eat as healthy as possible. So what is " no gluten, no sugar, the healthy aisle , there is no aisle. " But they have been trying , ie- the natural foods are in the aisle, with the corresponding foods. :) The workers, are so helpful, friendly, thats the ambience of Weis Market here.

This is probably my least favorite Weis. They dont have the variety of things other Weis Markets has. Everything seems crammed. The store needs redone. They staff all seem like younger kids who dont care to be working there.

Very friendly people and rarely a wait but you do have to watch the prices. Sale tags are left up after they expire and things sometimes ring up for the wrong price. Dont be afraid to point it out.
