BEST BEER IN LANCASTER. END OF STORY. Amazing fish tacos. Fries are ridiculously good. When Chef first came to East Petersburg I thought they were crazy, even maybe mad? I knew they better be packing some good brew if they were going to pull people out of the city, and they were. Chef his avant garde approach to beer profiles and combines it with a very controlled and systematic brewing process. The result is amazing beer with incredible taste that you can not find anywhere else. Another great thing about Chef is that they roll through the beers at a nice pace so theres always something new to try. I have never had a bad beer from Chef. Lastly, it seems almost a shame to put this at the end but his food is great too. I really love the fries and my wife loves the fish tacos. I really like that the whole kitchen is open so you can see them make your food.

Fantastically new English pub-style (order at your leisure from the bar) brewery with a dozen standard pub features. Fresh food crafted right in front of you, friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere with 2 televisions and high top tables. My husband and I enjoyed a bucket of hot, fresh pommes frites (French fries) with delicious dipping sauces, and I was delighted that my tasty Italian sandwich was served panini style with warm marinara sauce on the side. My husband had the Reuben--quite crunchy, but very good! Quiet on a weeknight, but they have a music lineup on the weekends, so Im sure it gets feisty! :)

First time visiting Mad Chef Brew Pub was more than shocked to see far more children than adults. An entire Under 8 girls Soccer team brought by Parents and Coaches were there at Saturday Lunch. Although you must be 21 to enter their Website, you can be as young as newborn and still come to the bar. Also Ridiculously Long Lines for the "Order Here" at the Bar. Very Confusing. ON THE OTHER HAND, the CRAFT BEER and Pommes Frites were Pretty Amazing. If I return it will either Late Night OR will take my Beer and Fries to Go.

Had a great lunch here. Beer was all good and they had a good variety of the lighter colored styles (IPAs, Saison, etc). They didnt have any stouts or porters though when I went, maybe because it was the middle of summer. The food was also really good. I admit I was a little disappointed with the Cuban sandwich, it was good but nothing special. The chicken and waffles were delicious though. The other food sounded and looked good (seeing what others ordered) and I would definitely stop in again if in the area.

Cant judge their beer or food as I wasnt offered any. Stopped in a few minutes after 6. Sat at the bar. It was fairly busy but having sat waiting over 15 minutes watching others being tended to without so much as a "hi, aould you like a menu?" Was enough. I walked out and drove to Friendly Greek where Im greeted and served in seconds. And their selection of beer is huge and food is very good. Maybe being alone young and the only Hispanic in the place had something to do with the nonexistent service.

What a refreshing experience we had at Mad Chef! We have been there several times now and each time we are greeted with a smile (usually from the owner Greg) ..the place is super clean and comfortable..the beer is full of flavor and well balanced...the food is fresh and made to order...and the staff is friendly and perfectly attentive! This is a great place for all to enjoy. Thanks to the team at Mad Chef for bringing a awesome brew pub to our community!

Just stopped in for a drink after a work gathering and I must say I was impressed. Beers were extremely good and although we didnt order any food, having eaten at the aforementioned work party, everything I saw passing by our table looked amazing. There is live music every Friday and the band playing this particular night was pretty good, making for a nice atmosphere. Id also describe this as a kid-friendly place with kids menu items available.

First off anyone writing a bad review is just trolling. One bad review on here states they have been going to Mad Chef for 5 years when the establishment has only been open for 10 months. So obviously trolling. This is a great place with awesome food and great beer that is more than reasonably priced. Been here a few times now and the live music and industrial atmosphere is such a great setting to just sit and enjoy a night out.

Ive been here a couple times. Good beer, excellent food. One time I got a Jamaican jerk sandwich that was phenomenal and most recently got a bucket of fries to share at the table. Do yourself a favor and get the fries! 3 sauces come with a bucket and theyre all delicious, especially the truffle ketchup and ghost pepper ketchup. Atmosphere is relaxed and casual with a friendly staff. I look forward to going back again.

Great food, good beer, cool vibe. I would give 5 stars but they have open table seating , no hostess or list of who is next in line. This can be frustrating on busy nights. There seems to be no sense of order. Some people wait near the door and queue up, while others wait near the bar area. Competition for an open table can get crazy. But the food and beer are worth it. And the servers are pleasant and attentive.

This place is one of my favorites to visit in PA. I know brewing is in their name, but the food really takes the show here. They have rotating specials, and my friends swear by the chicken and waffles. The beer can be hit or miss, but its cool just how many styles they try and it usually augments the food very well. Certainly worth a stop if youre in the area, and I would probably even travel a bit to visit.

Obviously Danielle doesnt even know where she was at. This place has a great staff. Everyone is knowledgeable, smiling, upbeat, pleasant and friendly. The beers are awesome. There is a style to fit everyones taste. Every thing on their menu is fresh and made right in front of you. If you dont have a good experience here, youre one of those people that just cant be pleased, no matter where you are.

Pitiful selection of appetizers. I got a bucket of fries that were quite tasty yet the three sauces werent pointed out. I then ordered a flight of beers to taste test their craft. None of the beers was identified for me so I had to guess what they were from the menu description. I would nevrr buy the full size version of any of them. Lancaster Malt Brewing Co. is by far a better establishment.

Not happy - been going to the mad chef for 5 years. The people who have taken it over use substandard food. 2 super thin slices of cheap sandwich ham on my sandwich. Full of half frozen grated cheese that was an inch thick. Just awful. Had to find a new lunch bar - they are the same price as mad chef but 100 times better quality!

Friday night, very busy and fend for yourself to get a table/seat. More kids than I expected. Beer is excellent and reasonably priced. Order everything at the bar and people run the food out to you using g tin numbered buckets. Fun loud, not obnoxious loud. Live music was fabulous. Ill definitely come back.
