Went to Treaty of Paris a few weeks ago for my best friends birthday and it was a horrible experience and I will never be back. It was a group of five of us and though it was not that busy (there were plenty of empty tables) it took us TWO HOURS to for us to get our entrées. There were people who came after us, were served, paid, and left before we got served. When we asked the waitress (a slightly overweight brunette woman in her late 20s/early 30s) when our meal would be ready, she said that that the kitchen wouldnt begin cooking our food until our appetizers were cleared from the table. My friend, who was the guest of honor, was the only person eating an appetizer - a salad that he had intended to eat with his entrée. One of the parties at our table, who had managed many four and five star restaurants in NYC, informed our waitress that that was not standard restaurant protocol and that he had never heard of such a thing. She didnt apologize and made no attempt to remedy the situation. In fact, she ceased serving us the rest of the night and the bus boy serve us our food and bring us our check. Though the kitchen staff and the bus boy were very kind, it ruined our experience. I felt awful that I took my best friend to a restaurant with the purpose of celebrating his birthday where he was treated so horribly by our waitress. It would have made a world of difference had she just apologized for the delay and had given us a time-frame of when our food would be ready, rather than blaming my best friend for delaying our table because he simply didnt have his salad cleared from our table. Though I hesitate to hold an entire restaurant accountable for the actions of one waitress, I feel as though they endorsed her behavior by failing to take any remedial action, even after one of the parties at our table walked into the kitchen in an attempt to locate a staff member who could help us.

an absolute shame.... While I never write scathing reviews, I feel that this is needed in the hopes someone will take notice that Treaty of Paris is riding on its Laurels & historic significance & not being managed to any potential. In detail, on the culinary talent, the food was bland. Rolls may be of a colonial recipe, but literally had no flavor. The steaks came out rare, but one was ordered medium and politely sent back only to come back the same...after slicing it open and putting on a separate plate it was sent back again to be finished correctly. the pasta entree came out cold and untimed with the other dishes. There was effort in the service, but no management. They served men 1st and had to ask about the placement of 2 of the entrees. The saddest state of affairs was that its Valentines Day weekend which is busy night in food service industry & at 7:30 pm we were only 1 of 3 tables in the place. This place is a landmark from when I grew up in Annapolis & its a true travesty that those in charge have let it fall the wayside as it has.

When you wait 20 minutes at your table and are never served you figure something must be wrong that night - a restaurant cant make money if this was the norm. But we walked in off the street and asked if they had any tables since we didnt have reservations. They said "no problem" and promptly sat us. No one served us until 10 minutes later we were given water. We were assured someone would be right with us. I made eye contact with one of the waitresses to get her attention but was never seen to. After another 10 minutes went by we got up and left. On our way out someone politely said "Thanks for coming!". There was another table nearby similarly looking around for servers. We wont want to try this place again for a long time.

The Maryland Inn, and its restaurant the Treaty of Paris, was (and still is) our main go to place for special occasions... New Years, Fourth of July, Valentines Day, etc... Historic. Classy. Clean. Crisp service. Excellent food. We usually go to Treaty of Paris for Sunday brunch. It is not a large restaurant, so you have to time it just right in order to get seated within a decent amount of time, and you need patience. Pricey, but then what isnt in the Annapolis area? Worth saving up for. We plan to keep coming back for years to come.

I was sat at the poorest table and no explanation on breakfast, or coffee or anything, while a group of 5 arrived and got the waiter drooliing for attention...I had to force my way to get bread and butter and some food, which was okay but very plain. The apple juice was industrial. The bill was very reasonnable, which was a relief after this, but the quality of food and service is certainly not to the level of what the Treaty of Paris pretends to be. Will find another place to have breakfast for the rest of my stay.

There is a reason that on a busy Thursday, Friday, Saturday night other restaurants in Annapolis are hopping and the Treaty is empty. One look in the window should give you a warning. If you are looking for a quiet bar to enjoy a beer, then this is a great find. If you are looking to eat, you should continue on your walk. The Treaty used to be a place known only for its brunch. Now, its known for the Starbucks that shares the basement.

This place should be better than it is. It LOOKS like it should be better than it is. I have been here twice-- one time for cold food and poor service, the second time for better food and poor service. Highly recommend to order the "special" because that does seem to be the only thing to get to the table in tasty warm condition. Dont bother with any wine or juice-- nothing special. Go for water.

To eat where our Founding Fathers ate after signing the Treaty of Paris is wild. The food was quite good, if not on the "so what else is new" side. The service was outstanding. We could not have asked for more of the wait staff. The place is decorated as a museum and we enjoyed looking at everything, including the "tunnel." We recommend the brunch. Its a keeper.

Cozy, provincial atmosphere for serving some of the best crab bisque I have ever had. Staff is friendly and attentive, anticipating your needs and accommodating your requests with smiles. While we did not reside in the bedrooms, I anticipate a stay very soon.

I had a good experience here. It had a nice atmosphere & reasonable prices. We went after the lunch rush at 1:30. I got the seafood sampler & really enjoyed it, especially the crab rolls & shrimp. My wife got the crab cake sandwich and enjoyed it as well.

Good food, horrible service. Reading other reviews they all say the same thing. Went for brunch on a Saturday. The place was empty, yet they gave bad service. The food was good. If you have a choice go some place else.
