First with the good. Friendly staff, great environment, excellent service, and really good chips and salsa. Now the bad. There is nothing authentic about the food served here. The cheese used for enchiladas, quesadillas, and any other dish with cheese as an ingredient tasted like american cheese. This is offensive for anyone who knows Mexican food. Beans tasted like Rosarita canned beans and lacked the greasy lard you find in good beans. I ordered a carne asada taco and the waitress looked at me like I was crazy. When the taco arrived it was in a flour tortilla and covered with lettuce and sour cream. Carne asada tacos are traditionally served in a corn tortilla with onion and cilantro or pico de gallo and lime. I would suggest taking a trip to Mexico or the west coast before claiming authentic Mexican food. If you have been spoiled by REAL Mexican food I would not suggest this place but if youre used to the east coast take on Mex then enjoy. There was ketchup on the tables...... enough said. I will never eat here again.

Decided to take my son out for Mexican food that wasnt Taco Bell. Thought this would be a nice mother/son experience. Wrong! We waited nearly 15 minutes to be seated and there were several empty tables. Strike one! Our waitress brought us chips and salsa and forgot to bring our waters until we were done with the chips. Strike two! We then placed our order. Nearly an hour later we ask someone about our order. The waitress informs us that she forgot to put our order in and was going to do it now. She then admitted that she lost the order ticket and asked what we wanted. Strike three! We got up and left even though we were absolutely starved by now. Tried to talk to the manager, but he didnt even seem to understand what I was saying. Wound up at Taco Bell for a lot less money and better service.

We decided to try something different , that was our 1st mistake Felt like an outsider, the waiter avoided us when we were trying to get his attention, no employee would make eye contact with you? The waiter didnt even ask us how our meal was , the manager didnt even ask any one I could see how there visit was while he was out on the floor, and when we were leaving the hostess didnt ask us how our meal was, really weird , I left the guy a tip but he didnt deserve it. My wife and I will never go there again, it was weird, never experienced that before, and I went in with an open festive mind. Good luck if you go.

Was always great . Miserable waiter tonight . Never even checked on the table after food was delivered by expediter . They must be cutting costs , we ran out of salsa with 1/2 basket of chips left . Appears they are cutting back on salsa , small ramiken . Waiter never checked on us to see if we wanted more chips and salsa . Place was t even half full . Ill go back ... Maybe just an off night . Was never going to go back but just did, Sept 22. Must have new manager , place was totally squared away from being seated to check out . Im glad , as I always enjoyed this place .

I use to LOVE this place and go out to eat here so much until my last trip. DO NOT order the ceviche!! It use to be good but I ordered it and it tasted like ketchup! WTF? GROSS!! Did not eat it and when the lady came back she was like Ill box it up for you.... I said no thanks. Took forever to get us our drinks. I asked for a refill and she kept forgetting. She just seemed to be bothered by us. Like I said I really use to like this place and go here A LOT but after my last trip no thank you!

Im originally from NY and after a long drive to PA, I decided to stop by this spot for some food I ordered a double burrito -- one with beef and one with chicken. It was nothing special. The chicken tasted like it was simply boiled and shredded and the beef tasted awful -- no flavor at all! And the worst part is after eating this, I had an upset stomach all day and stayed in the bathroom for hours. You guessed it. The food gave me the bubble guts. Ugh! Not going back.

This food is great Mexican and anyone saying it isnt authentic has lost their marbles. The staff is pretty much all Hispanic and if youve gone anywhere else in the world you would know that their food is definitely up to par and authentic. Such great people and food! Also they are always very accommodating, Im vegan and they have offered to clean the grill before cooking my meal, checking all ingredients, and molding my order to fit my needs! Great atmosphere!

Absolutely love this restaurant, my fiance and i have lived in Texas for a few years and have dearly missed the amazing Mexican cuisine. Tonight we have gained a new favorite place to relive and satisfy our cravings for the amazing food! Service was great, Everyone was very polite and helpful and service was quite fast. Food was amazing and brought back wonderful memories. So truly look forward to Many returns with and without friends!

Service was great and food was good. UNFORTUNATELY THE BUST BOY STOLE MY WIFES PHONE. Manegment handled situation poorly. My wife informed managment she was going to the police to file a report. My wife made the police report and tracked her phone which was in route back to the restaurant. We ended up getting the phone back being told it was an accident. It was a blatant lie and very disappointing. We will never go back.

Go to La Tonalteca in Scranton, PA all the time. Much better than the faux Mexican "La Tolteca" in Wilkes-Barre - which is MUCH closer to me as well. Real guacamole, tasty dishes and great prices, complimented with speedy service. Weds is $2.99 for a Lime Margarita - yum! Dont be fooled by sub-par Mexican with burritos that still have frozen cheese. La Tonalteca is great!

Food was quite bland. Burrito had no cheese in it, but menu said it would. Fajitas were also very bland and only came with 2 tortillas and had to choose between rice OR beans unless you want to pay extra. Also there seemed to be carrots in the fajita vegetables. The service was fine, but the food was a major letdown.

Best Mexican in the Northeast!!! Nachos supreme is amazing and the queso fresco is perfect. Prices are very good. Everything is fresh! The decor is completely authentic and beautifully detailed. Quattro amigos is my favorite, chicken, steak, carniatas and chorizo Service is average

Not sure what is going on at the Clarks Summit location. The last 3 times the food has been taking extra long to come out. This time about 50 minutes to get our food. Manager did not even come over to say sorry for the delay or discount. Not sure if we will go back again.

I had to wait for my food longer than expected, but it was very busy on Wednesday night. They have margarita specials and good food. I gave five stars to be generous, but they should make sure customer service pace keeps up properly. Good food though.
