Very small, but cute restaurant located in the rear of large shopping center. Very easy to miss if you are not aware of its existence. Decor is very colorful, which is expected of Mexican culture and the staff is equally as warm and friendly (also very typical of the Mexican people). Restaurant offers a great variety of Mexican plates, combinations, and typical antojitos mostly popular from the Guadalajara area of Jalisco. Great flavors! Best plates would include the fried fish, carnitas and tamales smothered in a rich and tasty Tapatio sauce. Full bar is available, but the margaritas dont pack too much of a punch. Overall, very popular but exceptionally busy on the weekends with live Mariachi music on Fridays. José Madrid and the other Mariachis are very entertaining, making the evening very memorable.

If youre reading this and thinking of going its a winner. I take my family here exclusively since 2006. I have never had a bad experience in probably 50-60 visits. The staff, atmosphere and food is authentic and better than any Mexican place I have been to. I have never got bad food, waited too long or not felt good about the staff. Order the Fajitas if you dont know what to get. Its good for anyone. Wish I could give more stars. Im leaving this after a huge disappointment at the Mexican Post.

Good food service but bad customer relationship from manager. Never ever recommended my community and friends. I was there august 12 around 6 pm. They give me table for 7 people. But I95 was accident. They came little late. Manager lady came 4 times to table and asking when coming? I told her wait if not coming I will pay all table expense. She did not give me chance and bad talk and behaving bad.This United States America a lots of place to eat.Thank you

I want it ALL to myself! We are from AZ and this is the ONLY quality Mexican place in Delaware. The service in fantastic and makes you feel at home. The food is off the charts and authentic, just like southern AZ. If I were confined to the state of Delaware and could only eat at one restaurant, this would be the place.

The true test of a restaurant is if the quality remains consistent when the restaurant is busy. We went here on Cinco de Mayo, and the food was as good, if not better, than usual. I also have to say the margaritas are great. As someone who enjoys a beverage from time to time, these margaritas are the bees knees. A+

The pineapple fajitas were absolutely perfect. The menu has a nice variety of enchiladas, fajitas, quesedillas, and chimichangas. The restaurant is also beautiful on the inside. It had very festive decorations and colorful tables. This is a very nice restaurant and I highly reccomend it.

This is the perfect place to go when you just want a really big plate of amazing mexican food. The service is always great. My family and I have been going here my whole life and just thinking about it is making me hungry for their beef tip burrito mmmmmmm :) deffinitly check it out.

Good atmosphere, not authentic Mexican cuisine. The chillaquiles were a joke, other stuff Ive ordered were good though, just not "authentic" this coming from a someone whos Mexican. Id still recommend anyone to try it though. I got back even after the chillaquiles fiasco of 2016.

Five stars for service and food. This was my second visit to el Tapatio and if you are looking for some fantastic authentic Mexican food and hospitality this is the place to go. Mere words cannot express the flavors and atmosphere of this quaint restaurant in an unassuming place.

My family and I love this place!! We go many times a month. There has nit been anything that we ordered that we do not enjoy. I am from southern california and I have not found anything around here that tastes as authentic! Friendly staff and the place is always clean.

Ranchero steak was not edible. I now know what the term "shoe leather" means! The restrooms did not have soap. If I knew that first, I would not have eaten there. I asked the waitress if the kitchen staff has soap in the Kitchen and she didnt respond

Best Mexican food in DE. Wife and I go here almost weekly, you get tons of delicious food and the service is impeccable. If you like Mexican, you have to try this place. Their fried chimichangas are Heaven on a plate, along with the burrito de lujo.

Been coming here for years. Usually on Wednesday for the margarita special. 2.99. cant beat it and they are strong. Love the fajitas with chorizo. Also the chicken nachos are covered in cheese sauce. Great food, great prices, good service!

I was very disappointed in the Fajitas. I had chicken, shrimp & mostly beef. Beef was so tough I could hardly chew it. I left 2/3 of my dinner. Wont go again
