New to the area, I went out tonight looking for a good Mexican place, only to be sorely disappointed by La Lupita. Let me preface my comments by saying that there was a large table of 15 or so people, which always throws a wrench in any staffs work, and there were only two waitresses for about 18 tables, so they were trying their best. Nevertheless, we sat down and it took us 15 mins before we even got menus. We ordered quickly and the food came out fairly fast; however, it was woefully subpar. I had a cheese quesadilla, beans, rice, and taquitos, all of which tasted exactly the same and were all extremely dry. It was a desert in my mouth. The only flavor I could discern (besides "fried") was a salty white substance that they allege is cheese (but I am not so sure). Food and service aside, the restaurant lacks air conditioning and is a mostly barren, cement block interior, save the odd sombrero and multi-colored Mexican blankets (a la Juan Valdez) hanging on the walls. Long story short: I had a bad experience and would return only if I was crawling down the street and, due to weakness from weeks of starvation, collapsed in the arms of one of the kindly waitresses who force-fed me some beans.

My husband and I were regular customers. We really enjoyed going there. However the last few times we went the food would come out cold. Sometimes it was overcooked. I cook authentic Mexican food so I know what it should look and taste like. In addition my husband ordered a soda. When he looked in the bottle there was a fly in it. He mentioned it to the waitress who responded that when she gave it to him there was not a fly in it. He responded that he did not bring the fly in with him. She brought him another soda and then charged him for both when he asked her about the charge she said you ordered another soda. He mentioned that it was a replacement for the soda that had a fly in it and with an attitude she removed it from the bill. We went back again hoping that the experience would be different but this time the waitress charged my husband $4 a piece for two cups of coffee. When I looked on line there coffee on the menu was listed as .99. Needless to say we were very disappointed with the service. We have not been back since.

I am a vegetarian with benefits, chicken, fish, eggs. My colleague took me to La Lupita and the food was great! It was fresh, and clean, and the taco shells were tasty, not dry. I had one of the smaller fares, garnachas (sp?) which were wonderful. I was introduced to the restaurant by a strict vegetarian (from India) and so she was very pleased too with the food. Not a busy night so the waitress had time to spend with us as we practiced our Spanish. What a treat. I recommend it highly.

My fiance and I are always in search of a great mexican dinner. La Lupita ranked #2 behind Los Amigos of Atlantic City. The wait staff was very friendly. We had the quesadillas and two enchilada entrees. The food was very good with lots of flavor along with homemade freshness and taste. It is also a BYOB, which is always a plus. Even though the ambiance was only average the friendly wait staff and great food made this restaurant a must try!

Very mediocre food. The taco shells were definitely store bought, as well as the flour tortillas. Had a very bland taste. The food cost was overpriced compared to the quality. Maybe this is why there was absolutely no one in the place on a saturday night. Not recommended unless you are starving to death and need simple nutrients for survival.

Although the service was fine, the food was really substandard. It had little flavor and virtually no authentic spice in the food. It was served barely warm and was flavorless. Neither my wife or I even finished our meal. I truly dont believe I have ever had such terrible Mexican food. Do not eat here unless they have a kitchen change.

I went there thinking it was authentic Mexican food order some chicken quesadilla and it was disgusting the salsa was sweet never mind the chicken fajitas that my sons girlfriend order was awful. They put sugar or ketchup in everything. It didnt taste fresh either and their prices are high for what they serve you

Food was awful! It had 0 flavor, Im Mexican and make mexican food everyday so I can tell you the good is not authentic but that wasnt the problem so much as that the good wasnt good. The waitress was not very polite either, needless to say my family and I wont be returning.

Great Mexican food! Very nice portions for the price. It is BYOB. Service is very good. Family friendly. The evening we dined, there was live entertainment which made the dining much nicer. Would defenitely recommend it if you are looking for casual dining.

Just started a low/no carb diet so I really wasnt at liberty to explore much of the menu. We were there with a large-ish group of 10-12 people. Service was friendly and prompt, and they let me pay for my entree separately as I was the only person without cash.

everything we ordered was totally flavorless. they put parmesan cheese on everything. the beans were whole instead of refried (which I prefer). overall, would not recommend.. but staff was friendly and atmosphere was nice.

Food was amazing and so was the staff. It was my first time there taking my mom for early mothers day dinner and we both loved it. I will definitely be back very soon! So much flavor and fresh food.

Great food, nice service. We Love their tacos, they are more authetic than most of the ones I had in the area. The only thing missing are tacos al pastor. Ohh and their flan is amazing.

I absolutely loved this place. Great food at good prices. They had live entertainment on the night we went. What a great time. The fact that it is a BYOB place makes it even better.

Authentic food with some rare offerings (tongue taco, etc) Sometimes they have live music of some sort as well. Visit the place if you have a chance!

Great food with a very accommodating staff. I had my first "too spicy" moment there and loved this place (as well as spicy food) ever since.

Its a great restaurant, food is always good but price for portions could be tweaked up or down on some items. But its sure not to disappoint.
