I just returned home from the City Avenue Corner Bakery Cafe. The date is Febuary 17th and visit was from about 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM. This was also the worker who had brought our food to the table. When bringing my food to our table (a salad and chili bread bowl). She practically threw the bread bowl at me and spilled chili and wasting it inside the plate plate. During our dining period she walked by several times and once said to my friend "what is you looking at" in a mumbling tone. Very disrespectful. At the time we laughed it off. Upon leaving the restaurant a female employee followed my friend and I out of the doors and threatened us by yelling profanities at us. We proceeded by walking away further but I couldnt go home without at least letting the manager know about this situation. When I entered back into the restaurant alone, I headed towards the kitchen to find the manager. Upon walking through the restaurant I was able to spot and confront the female who had threatened us on our way out of the shopping center about the situation. I approached her to sort out what may have been a misunderstanding and she came off as very hostile. First, I asked "was there a problem?" She responded "why did you keep looking at me, sir?" with a very threatening tone. I responded "what was the problem?" She then put her dish tray down and proceeded to approach me in a very threatening manner. and said "would if be wrong if i smacked you?" I then became very frightened of the situation and prepared to be struck in the face. A co-worker of the female then restrained her from making anymore threatening statements/actions. Upon walking out I witnessed a co-worker restraining her further from charging at me while I was on my way to the door. Will be consulting an attorney and requesting surveillance footage. I asked to speak with a manager which then I was told to leave.

My friends and I received very poor service on November 13, 2016. I came to sit and have breakfast with two of my friends at about 8:30am. Our experience started with noticing that the coffee containers had cold coffee in them. When we informed the manager, Elizabeth Hovanick, about the lukewarm coffee we were met with attitude. Our food was brought out by a server who had no interest in ensuring that we received what we actually ordered. When we told him that the order was wrong he quickly became annoyed, abruptly left and stated the he would inform his manager. After a few moments no manager came. We actually had to go to the manager our selves to notify her of the incorrect orders. At this point we were beginning to feel disappointment that our morning experience at Corner Bakery was seemingly becoming ruined. The explanation from the manager regarding the incorrect orders was lackluster and delivered with contempt. Due to the degrading quality of our experience we all decided to ask for refunds. The refunds were granted but at no point was the manager concerned with our satisfaction. She never made an honest attempt to make our situation right. No apologies made or attempts to reconcile. We frequent City Ave Corner Bakery often and have had mostly great experiences. Not sure if its the new management team or if it is simply a case of individuals having a bad morning. As a paying customer Id like to think we deserve better service and to be treated with proper regard instead of annoyance. Id consider my friends and I loyal Corner Bakery customers, not so much anymore.

I just left the Corner Bakery on City Avenue in Bala Cynwyd. The service was terrible. I waited for my power Panini for over 10 minutes. When the sandwich came to me it contain two apple chicken sausages and whole egg which were both cold. I then returned a sandwich to the counter and to the manager who brought it to my table initially. I explained that the sandwich was cold. She then told me she will bring it to my table and when she did the second sandwich contain whole egg and one chicken apple sausage. It was hot but I couldnt understand the diminished amount. Rather than complain again I ate the sandwich. The manager came around delivering food to other tables and she asked everyone who was eating in my vicinity "how their food was". She paused, looked at me, turned around and kept asking other patrons if their food was ok. It was obvious to everyone and me that that she chose to ignore him to ask me that question. In my opinion she should have come to me and asked me how was the second sandwich. Some manager! I would expect a manager to make sure everything is OK with the customer even if there was a complaint. Thats being a good manager.

Whenever a food service employee asks me if "I can just pick it out" in response to the question may I have this sandwich without (x) ingredient, it leaves me thinking that either they are too lazy to turn around for a second and ask someone who could answer that question, or if the chain is trying to sell an extremely overpriced item with flash frozen ingredients with little to no nutrients left within them. Overall poor service, it hurts my heart to visually be able to see your microwaves in the back, if I wanted microwaved food, Id go to acme and buy a frozen dinner.

Food is mediocre. Had the Caesar salad, which I couldve bought at for $4. The Mac and cheese was simply that, nothing special about it. I couldve bought a box of at a grocery store. Save your money and just go shopping.

Great food, atmosphere, and friendly staff. If you go for lunch, plan to arrive 10 mins before the crowd, because it gets busy. Its a great place to meet a networking partner for coffee or lunch for sure.

Nice location. If you need a place to sit and have a cup of coffee in City Line area, I would recommend this place. Ample seats. I never go to Corner Bakery for food so I cant comment on their food.

Great place to enjoy coffee... in summer they arrange for outside seating, thats very charming where you could also enjoy nature with coffee and desert. You can also park right in front of the shop.

I love the salads here. Always fresh and a decent variety to choose from. Dont like salad? Their sandwiches and soups are great and the baked goods are outrageous. The staff is pretty friendly.

First time here, its nice and cozy. You can have a sit and drink coffee and relax. Will come back to try the other coffee blends. I had the Bakers Blend, it was ok. I also had the baby bundit cake.

The mac & cheese is amazing -- the smaller portion is still quite a lot of food. Truffle latte is delicious. Food comes out fast and staff is friendly and efficient!
