You had me on hello Do not go there at 6:30 AM - they have decadent and delicious warm almond and chocolate croissants and out-of-this-world sour dough bred...hot! If you make the mistake of going at 6:30 AM...you may find yourself unable to control yourself. I hope folks can appreciate that this is a real-down-to-earth bakery just as those found in Europe. They make bread here in the mornings and you can have something which is rare in the U.S... warm-just-made bread. Truly fantastic! And if fresh-just-made-bread was not enough, it is some of the healthiest bread you can buy. Youll have to ask them the science of flour making and how they are unique. Their service is friendly and welcoming. I wish Michael the best and I am a grateful customer appreciative of his effort to provide an exceptional bakery.

Lousy Pizza. I live in West Philly and have yet to find a decent, reasonably priced pizza place. Dock Street is great, but a little frou frou and breaks the bank. Colonial is only ok, and overpriced. Fiesta, Accu ... are terrible. 4 worlds recently started making pizzas for pick-up on Sundays only. We ordered two xtra large (which are not particularly big). They were not cheap - coming in at about 32 bucks total. The crust was good, but not what youd expect from a bakery: about on par with Trader Joes pizza dough. The pizzas were WAY undersauced and undercheesed, both pizzas were burnt, and the toppings were ... adequate. The baked goods here are still good and we hope the business does well, but we will not return for the pizza unless something changes.

Visited Four World Bakery for the first time; two differnt bakerys in one week. Anyway, I heard about their famous Croissant and Baguettes. We purchased a loaf of Baguette and a half dozen Croissants: Three plain for me and three almond for my partner. When I took a bite, I yelled, Oui! Oui! Crispy outerlayer of plain Croissant flew all over the table but the inside was buttery and chewy. Wow, It brought back memories of being in France. Okay, let me calm down for a sec... Their Baguettse were just as good, a crunch followed by pillowy soft and chewy on the inside. We have to do another Four World Bakery run very soon. TIP: You have to get here early or youll go home with an empty bag.

Ive been getting bagels from Michael when he was still making them from his basement. But now that he has his own store (only a block away), its hard resisting the temptation to go there everyday for a fresh Almond Cream Croissant- possibly the best pastry Ive ever had! And I have tried others in Paris and New York. Theres no competition-truly the "Challahman" has magic when it comes to baking. I wish him the best of success. You should go there, now if you can! :)

Excellent sour dough bread. Note that they close quite early. Prices are OK, but not great. After they close, you can still buy many of their breads at Maripossa.
