May 15, 2017 I came down to wooden nickel for a drink by myself to enjoy my Mother’s Day drink, unfortunately the boss lady has been nothing but rude to me as soon as I set foot in the place and I have NO CLUE WHY. I ordered my usual and what a gross drink after #1 I half to go watch my drink be made to only find boss lady fills it mostly with Orange Liquor, GROSS I knew the head server had done something not so cool, I was a server for 15 years I am not blind nor an idiot, REVIEW TIME…I DONT APPRECIATE AS A CUSTOMER BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE ESPECIALLY IN FRONT OF UR FACE….I have been a customer at this place many times and I would say it is a 50/50 chance you will get good customer service depending who you get. Would not recommend the head server she has very rude customer service skills...My server that came to the table and served me the second time after I ordered a drink at the bar was very nice regardless and I left her a 10 tip and wrote on the back of the ticket "I appreciate your awesome customer service skills "THANK YOU." June 24, 2017 UPDATE: IF YOU WRITE A BAD REVIEW SUCH AS THIS YOU WILL BE 86D. I WAS a returning customer TODAY and this is what happened. So, I returned today and they told me I said F#### ### on a napkin last time I was there? SERIOUS ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!! I am sure they ran across my review and were not happy! Well let me say, I am happy to admit how horrible I think your customer service was lead lady!! IF YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN DOING YOUR JOB CORRECTLY THIS REVIEW WOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN WROTE!! I may of been unhappy about your drink and you know it because you know exactly what you did when you made it, I WATCHED YOU!! who in their right mind would do that. APPARENTLY, YOU CANT READ IF YOU MISTAKED F YOU FOR THANK YOU!! the last time I was there I made sure I wrote thank, excellent customer service on the back of that ticket and thank you very much even with a 10-dollar tip to my server. I cant count how many people you have ran off and this is another perfect example of why you lose customers!!

We moved into the area about a week ago. We have visited the Wooden Nickel quite a few times, and we absolutely love it! The staff is always polite, quick and provide excellent customer service. One time we visited, I noticed on my receipt that I was overcharged for one of my beers. Kelly, one of the awesome bartenders, was quick to change it for me. Overall, the atmosphere is a wonderful country-feel, the food is fantastic (I recommend the country-fried steak with the country gravy, it is DELICIOUS!) and the pricing is great. They have daily specials on the bar side, in which we particularly like the special on Wednesday, which is $1 PBR or Coors Light and $1 Whimpy Burgers. Friday nights are Karaoke, and trust me, at first I was nervous about walking into the bar, but when I heard everyone sing, it was like I was listening to the radio. I was STUNNED at how great of voices everyone had! We love the Wooden Nickel!

The atmosphere is old fashioned but it is a low key bar & restaurant. They have a good sized selection of foods and a full bar. Its not quiet & not especially FOR children except when they have dinner with the family but they dont cater to children. The bar is separate from the dining area. Its not party central for younger adults but every age can go there for food. It offers meals like old fashioned meals people in a small town would consider the usual...like chicken fried steak & items that arent especially contemporary but are good & fresh. Its usually busy but not packed. People might go to the bar on a regular basis...they have music on certain nights and different events. You never need to wait long...and the wait-staff are friendly & helpful. Prices for dinners seem to be reasonable for what you get.

Nothing special about the Rhino burger. A tiny bit of onion, barely any tomato and pickles. No lettuce or condiments on it. The "bun" which is like a hoagie roll was soggy. The patty was super greasy and burnt. I live in Bend and traveled to Wooden Nickel just to try it as Ive heard so much rave about it but for the same price, Ill stick to eating at Bend Burger Co. I pay for quality and quantity there. Wooden Nickle burger is comparable to a fast food burger just paying a higher price. The only thing I can say was good was the salad that I opted for as a side instead of fries.

There used to be a time this was the best restaurant in the Sublimity/Stayton area. When I first arrived here 17 years ago it was great food, great service and great atmosphere. Last night I was very disappointed. It wasnt crowded but ... We had to seat ourselves No one came to even take drink orders until 10 minutes later Dinner arrived at our table an hour after we sat We were only checked on once during the meal I ordered a steak medium rare and it was too rare My steak looked and tasted like a bad cut with way too much fat on it Tater tots felt and tasted too greasy

Overnight stay on our way to Bend from the coast. Compared to what we have paying for food on our vacation, this place is an absolute bargain for what you get. $3.75 for a good craft beer. $14 for a very good pulled pork platter that I could barely finish due to the amount of food. It was better tasting that the $24 tri-tip BBQ I had at Pelican Pub in Pacific City the night before with ok $7 beers. Wife wasnt as thtilled with her quesadilla, but it wasnt bad, just not as good as mine. The bacon, jalepeno mac and cheese was outstanding as a side.

We were disappointed. We arrived about 4:50 Sunday pm. There was one table of about 10, another of 6 and a couple tables of 2. There were 3 waitresses I could see. We sat ourselves and waited, and waited. In 7 or 8 minutes, we were never greeting, never told theyd be with us shortly, never got menus or even water. After our wait, we just got up and left. Wed stopped there before and found it was OK. Sorry for the food and decor ratings. You have to do them to post. Based on prior visits.

Ok place to go for a beer, but the BBQ was not what they say it is. I ordered smoked turkey and got Smoked Turkey LOAF, not sure where the loaf is on a turkey, maybe between the stuffing and the rolls. The coleslaw came out of a bag and was un-inspiring. Did not have corn bread w/ meal (said they were out maybe at 6:00 they run out) got bread loaf, consistent with the turkey. Been scared to order there over several visits, will not order again. :-(

Went in for their last crawdad feast- horrible service. Bad planning to have a new girl be waitressing (second day, 1st week in town) but she was a delight. Her supervisor was cranky, mean, took forever to get anything like plates, silverware, napkins, extra order of food, etc. She even asked people already sitting to move so that other people could sit at that table because they had a larger party. Not impressed.
