This is one of the last two A&W drive-ins in Oregon (the other is in Sweet Home) where you can still park and order from your car. That said, we usually eat inside in one of the large booths in the back. From the inside booths you place your order via an intercom phone. Our kids love the place, especially in warm weather as there is an outdoor play area out back. A negative are the single-occupancy restrooms - you can be in for a wait when the restaurant is full. The menu is large with choices that include burgers, chicken sandwiches, hot dogs and a large selection of various ice cream desserts and smoothies. Currently they serve all-you-can-eat shrimp dinner on Fridays and breakfast is served daily. We placed our usual family order: Five Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger combination meals, which is an ongoing "special" that includes a burger, fries and a drink for $3.99. We like to substitute for the drinks by ordering milkshakes, freezes, smoothies, etc. As usual, the service and food was good. The burgers are not gourmet - I would say they are most similar to what you find at Dairy Queen. This is our favorite area fast food restaurant as visiting is just a good experience for the family.

This business has been here since forever...It has good food & usual prices for a fast food restaurant. It has a good atmosphere, good for kids & has a playground. Every menu item has been fresh. They offer a Veggie-burger. About 50% of the time their French fries are soaked with grease but nearly 50% are edible. The sandwiches are great so I dont usually buy fries with them. They offer a lot of different items so you wont get bored with their menu. A&W root beer is made on the premises & its always good. Soft ice cream is great & they offer a lot of different ice cream treats. You never have to wait for more than a couple of minutes. They have a drive-through & a car service just like the old days. All of my life Ive heard of people who live from 12 to 20 miles away that its well worth the drive. The other fast food places in the small town dont compare to the A&W.

here is what I dont understand you guy`s sponser stayton football team with that card you can buy and get discounts with buy 1 get 1 free papa burgers here is the ticket every time I use it there your staff mwke me feel like im doing some thing wrong and get the crappiest put together burgers I have ever seen if you dont want to do it then dont then dont sponser them that way cause thats just bad customer service

Weve eaten at this A&W restaurant many times in the last 5 years and have usually found the food surprisingly good. The onion rings are the best weve ever eaten! The prices are very reasonable for the food, and they also offer discount punch cards for frequent clients... The only downside I can cite is that the booths are not suited for ample-sized people - the benches are very close to the tables.

Great place to go for burgers. They also have amazing cheese curds that you must get! Its way better than McDonalds because it actually tastes like real meat! Also, the staff is always friendly. I like to get the Awesome Burger with mozzarella in a combo with their A&W root beer (apparently they make it in the store) and cheese curds! Tip: Get a punch card for your combo meals!

We live in Keizer and weve been going to A&W in Stayton for 20+ years. We DO NOT go to any other A&W.... ever. The ones in Salem are disgusting. There is absolutely no comparison. Staytons A&W is an original and has always stayed the same; delicious, fresh and great customer service. We stop on our way home from Detroit often. I highly recommend it.

The food is always consistent, and of course the amazing Root Beer. If you need *fast* service, you can go to McDonalds. A&W has significantly longer wait times, but the food is always much better, even if it does come at a relative premium. Never had a bad meal, though and thats what matters.

Brought my Daughter to get some food just before they were closing. It was our first time visiting. They were diligently working like they had planned on staying open for a while after. What a great place, and excellent attitudes. I will definitely be back, but earlier next time. Thank you!!

Food is good & hired staff has always been friendly. Only exception is the owner could use a few lessons in customer politeness & service, how to address his staff, and he has an attitude problem. Hes always been a jerk in those ways in every encounter with him at the restaurant.

Love the experience, sat in a big round booth, ordered by phone, frosted mug of root beer and great fish and chips. Service was quick and helpful, made a few extra requests. Order was done correctly and everyone was happy with what we got.

Absolutely the best A&W restaurant Ive ever been to. The food is delicious - always tastes fresh, and always made exactly how I want it. The fries are crispy, burgers juicy, and bacon actually tastes like bacon.

They dont freeze their beef so the burgers taste great! Booths are NOT for people with size and almost no table options hence 3 stars. Not all A&Ws are the same and this one is the best!
