I usually dont write reviews, but I was so utterly disappointed with this meal I felt the need. I have always liked Olive Garden.... After today I will never be back. Shrimp Alfredo looked like they used a teaspoon of alfredo luckily It came with soup so I could add it to the my dish to make it consumable. My daughter ordered the tilapia and shrimp, 4 shrimp and a fish the size of two silver dollars, luckily she had 25 pieces of broccoli to fill up the whole plate. To finish off the waitress was one of the rudest servers I have ever had in my life. I had some questions regarding the soup and the lady rolled her eyes at me and the feeling I got through the entire meal was as if the lady personally loathed her job and if at all possible she would like to burn the place down with me inside. I always tip 10% and above, it took everything I had not to pay exact amount. I really regret that I tipped at all. Literally go to any other restaurant besides Olive Garden for a better experience. Olive Garden you have gone from a decent place to have a meal, to less than Mcdonalds sit down. If it would let me give less stars I would. Btw used to eat at Olive Garden all the time about 10 years ago and loved it. WOW have they let this business go down the gutter. You have good breadsticks and all you can eat salad/soups thats it! Way to go by cutting your menue in half and swindling people with those tablet games at the table. You do one thing well and that is fail.

4-star prices with 1-star quality. Im not a food snob. I can eat anything. Ive given a Mcdonalds a high review. A few things to note: 1) whats their obsession with cheese? It was very polite of the servers to ask - but cheese on every plate? This isnt factored into the review, since this is probably a common Olive Garden thing. 2) The servers I had had this fake-ness about them. Big smiles while delivering plates, followed by sadness/bitterness when I ask questions. Smiles with the mouth, dead eyes. I dont know if theyre being forced to give smiles, but its incredibly unsettling. The food runner had the same empty expression. That alone made everything else incredibly uncomfortable. 3) Food is drenched in flavor. (in a bad way). You know how you can tell how cheap a steak is by how much bbq sauce its drenched in? This was all of their food. Everything is coated with flavor. 4) My alcoholic drink barely had zero alcohol. Granted, I ordered a pina colatta kind of drink. But it was so tamed, I could have given it to a 5 year old. It was incredibly crowded and there was a wait. im not exactly sure why. Maybe because Salem lacks a high-end italian food experience. Im glad I experienced Olive Garden so I know to avoid it in the future.

My gf and I go there frequently. Every mistake made by the staff was taken care of ten-fold. Example 1: I ordered the Chicken fettuccine while the endless pasta was going on, and they brought me fettuccine with no chicken. I asked, and they let me keep the fettuccine, and made a 2nd order for free. Example 2: It was a very busy day, and very loud in the bar where we usually sit to avoid the wait. We ordered our meal. My gf got endless soup and salad, and I ordered the chicken and shrimp carbanara. They ended up bringing out my gfs soup and salad very quickly, but my carbanara was nowhere in sight. I waited for about 15 minutes with no meal. So, I flag down my waiter, and he apologized profusely, and got me a double order to go, and a drink for free. There will always be issues with any restaurant, but Ive never had a bad experience that the Olive Garden hasnt fixed, and they made me feel like they gave a damn about my patronage. That is service you cannot beat.

We ate lunch at Olive Garden in Salem yesterday and were very disappointed. If I was the waiter I would have been embarrassed to bring it to the table. We have been going there for a long time and have watched the prices go higher and higher which I understand with costs on the rise but to both increase the costs while at the same time make the portions smaller and smaller is not right. I ordered a Tortellini dish for $8.49 that was tasty but my wife and I could not believe it when the waiter came out with a very small saucer type dish all by itself and set it in front of me. It wasnt even setting on a larger plate and it was about the size of the saucer we feed our cat on. There was eight small pasta shells on it covered with some alfredro sauce. My wife had the soup, salad and bread stick lunch which is worth while but it will be some time before I go back there again, if ever.

This place always seems to be quite busy so make sure to ask for call ahead seating so the restaurant knows ahead of time. If you dont youll end up waiting 30 minutes to an hour. After the remodel, theres more space in the waiting area before the lobby was a total mess and families with children would have to wait while standing and carrying theyre child until a name was called. Now that they added more space theyve regained regained a 4th star for timing and service as well. From my last visit the food has been consistent with taste and flavor. And do not be afraid to ask about the food and flavors. Ive never had an issue with the staff, after seeing numerous hiccups that were honest mistakes Olive Garden management will try to make things right. 4 stars from me to this restaurant it would have a fifth but that would need to exceed my expectations.

Came at 5 oclock on a Thursday, they let our drinks sit empty for over 15 minutes. Stingy at first with bread stick, brought one per person. The rest of our group arrived and they got more generous. A potential big tip changed how quickly we were looked after. 2 in our group had their order messed up. I ordered a soup with my appetizer which is what I had for dinner. They bring a trough of salad, but I ordered soup, so they said I couldnt participate in the salad trough. Come on a party of 9, a potential big tip, and your going to deny one person a small bowl of salad? Well I had one bite from my wife, and thats all I wanted, but still come on. Going home to watch the Soup Nazi episode of Seinfeld.

Server, Justin was great very friendly and relatable. The food was even good for the most part, but Olive garden has lost a lot of its appeal and feels more impersonal than it used to. There are these tablet/machines at your table where you can add things to your order or make adjustments without a waiter. We asked them to take it off the table. It ruins the experience. They promptly removed it, but it was still blinking away at other tables. Their menus are designed like an Applebees and everything feels kinda cheap even though the prices are at least 20% higher than they used to be. $90 (including tip) for two people, no dessert, and you just dont feel like it was worth it at the end.
