Very nice, antique cafe: This cafe has a log cabin type structure and feel to it and consists of two storeys. It is also simultaneously a gift shop as well. I ate here one time only and based on other reviews of this cafe -all of which are extremely favorable- I take it that I must have simply ordered the wrong item: The "veggie pizza" which I ordered was -BY FAR- the worst pizza Ive ever had in my life. It was absolutely terrible! The crust was very bland and of extremely low quality; the cheese was extremely greasy and unsavory to the point of being practically unedible. The toppings were okay. I consider myself to be an "amateur" chef; VERY amateur. The few things that I do know how to cook...I feel that I do a pretty good job -given that I am an amateur. This pizza at Zigzag had an "UBER"-amateur quality (or lack of such?) and I mean that in a bad way not a good way. If I ever return to this place, Ill try anything other than the pizza.

Stopped by after a morning hike in the snow. Just wanted a piece of toast and some tea to warm me up. Instead, I ended up with the Mt hood scramble. Perfectly prepared wirh sausage and onions, topped with fresh avocado and creme freche. It was "put your fork down, roll your eyes, clear your head" and mutter something about it shouldnt be this good! Followed the scramble with a melt in your mouth biscuit and strawberry jam that tasted like they had just picked the berries fix morning. And finally the country potatoes. Thats usually a throw away item, served as a plate filler. These potatoes were incredible. ..perfectly seasoned, tender, with a hint of crisp on the edges. Five star breakfast, no doubt!

Very nice inside compared to what I remember when it was a dark little convenience store. Theyve done well to give it a log cabin or rustic lodge feel. Lots of windows to look out at the woods and stream. +++++++ The $4 breakfast was just right with 2 eggs, sausage or bacon, potatoes(fried wedges with peppers), and a fluffy biscuit. +++++++ The Skillet Scramble was excellent. I thought for just over $8 it would be 3 eggs instead of 2 but with the yummy potatoes it filled my big appetite just about right. Also $8 would have seemed like a good price if it had not been served right next to their $4 breakfast. ++++++ Well be back.

The food is amazing. The setting is peaceful. The service is joyful and sincere. This is our go to place after a long hike in the Mt. Hood Wilderness. The dishes are surprisingly complicated for such a simple setting. Nearly everything is made from scratch, yet the service is quick. The pies and cobblers are wonderful. Ive never been disappointed with a single thing Ive eaten here.

It was nice finding a place to eat. I had the chicken fried steak with Italian sausage gravy. Not to bad. My issue was with my friends order. He ordered bacon and eggs. He got 2 bacon, and 2 eggs. Period. No toast, no hash browns, just bacon and egg. Ive never come across that before. His meal was 9 bucks. I guess if you eat there you should read the fine print. Lesson learned.

I ordered the Welches Eggs Benedict breakfast. Superb homemade Hollandaise, perfectly poached eggs. My partner was very happy with his Mt Hood scramble with sausage, cheese, etc. excellent homemade biscuits, too. Very well could be the best breakfast in the area. Prompt, friendly service. Creekside dining available for several tables. Casual NW cabin decor.

I ate here while driving the Mount Hood scenic loop. The setting for the restaurant is beautiful, and the interior of the place is beautifully rustic. The scenery from my tables window was of a brook flowing at the bottom of a wooded ravine. I ordered the blueberry pancakes, which were delicious.

After being on the road for a month we decided to treat ourselves to a breakfast diner. A ranger told us about this place and wow was he right! Sit by the trees and order a coffee, and take in Oregon. Then explore the menu, all the food we ordered was wonderful especially the chicken and waffles

Pretty pricy for diner style food, but seems worth it to be in the middle of nowhere having a decent breakfast. They do add some extra spices and nice foodie touches to the meal. Dishes could be bigger for the price

Awesome breakfast. We all tried various omelettes and I wouldnt have changed a bite- I personally had the Tostado omelette with southwest leanings. Cute comfortable restaurant. Quick service. Friendly staff.

Great food amongst nick-nacks of local roadside mountain cafe (shirts, books, coaches, hiking permits). Staff knowledgable about every hike within 50miles while serving best scrambles within 100miles.

Charming service in an old roadhouse. Burgers are tasty -- try one with peanut butter and bacon (Im serious). Strong coffee, good banter, and a great stop as youre going up or down the mountain.

Good hometown country store with great burgers and fries and veggies options. The 4 dollar breakie before 9am (eggs, bacon, bisuit, potatoes) will get you fueled for a day of fun in the snow.

Service was sub-par, the owner is very nice, but the food was not cooked well at all and the wait was over 45 mins. This is the second and last time I will spend money in this cafe.

A very nice experience. Friendly service, good food, nice rustic atmosphere. Not a destination in and of itself, yet a pleasant find on the spur of the moment.

Good food. A little pricey for what you get and service was a little slow. Ambiance great and location is cool. Parking is limited. Overall good experience.

Have a delicious soup & sandwich, in an amazing old wood & stone building along the creekside, before you roll one up for the road... Enjoy your trip!
