After reading so many good reviews saying "best chicken wings on the west coast", I was very excited to eat at Fire on the Mountain with my gf. I was expecting very high quality meat with amazing sauce. Im not going to lie and say the place was the worst experience of my life, but it definitely wasnt noteworthy of quality. We purchased the 18 piece meal and got the mild, sweet BBQ, and the Indian summer sauces on the chicken so we could try a good variety. The employees were nice, not talkative, laid back. We received our food within 15 minutes, we actually expected it to take longer. It was served on a frisby. The chicken was very poor quality. Simply freezer bought chicken that you can make at home in your microwave. It was soggy, and somewhat small. The chicken was layered in sauce, almost to the point of having to rename it soup. However the sauce is probably what the company is known for so we gave it a chance. The mild sauce was still very spicy for my tastes and didnt have much flavor. The sweet BBQ sauce was run of the mill flavor you can get from your grocery store, and the Indian summer was good but extremely painful from the spice. We gave the El Jefe a taste as well since we were curious. It seems like they just ground up habanero pepper seeds and mixed it with tomatoes. Tasted boring to be honest. All in all the chicken was nothing like we expected it to be. Its not barbecued over an open flame, or even high quality farm-fresh chicken meat (we even asked them about that). The food was mildly overpriced for a meal you can make at home. I wont be going back, not because the place was terrible, but because its just not really worth it or memorable.

Im really not sure I have ever been to a restaurant that more than one of the people working there were so rude to me. I sat outside for about 15 min with my dogs as waitresses go in and out and not one of them made contact with me. I finally peeked my head in the door to ask if someone could help me and before I could say anything one of the women behind the counter yelled "you cant bring those dogs in here" I said yes I know. Can someone come out and take my order, then another girl from behind the counter in a rather rude tone said we only have counter service here. My thought was really? Thats okay but, I see you going in and out taking people thier food and taking drink orders for them but, you cant walk 10 feet to the door and take my food order? And you have to be rude to me to boot? I have only been to this location 1 time before and I will never go again. You might want to tell you help there that there are ways to tell costumers things without being rude. And it seems to be a theme there so I would guess its poor management. I managed restaurants for 16 years and if I ever heard that one of my employees was that rude to a costumer I would make sure they understood that would never happen again. And in this case given there were 2 employees with the same bad costumer service. I would look into and talk to the person in charge of training and managing those 2 people. Unfortunately its costed you a costomer. And I will be more than happy to share my experience there with my friends so, that they do not go there and have a similar experience.

We ordered 18 wings plus fried pickles and two beers. About 28 bucks with a three dollar tip. 6 wings with the hottest sauce, six with the Jamaican Jerk and six with Barbeque. The wings were hot- my wife ate five but shes superhuman. I ate only one and had to blow my nose twice and most certainly felt the heat-induced high (Im sure the beer helped). Hot plus flavor- thats good. Bread or rolls would have been nice to cool the fire. Jamaican jerk was good but didnt mix well with the other flavors. BBQ wings were delectable. It was wings and drummettes half and half. My wife loved the fried pickles which came with a sauce that was spicy. These were served first while we waited (15 min.) for our wings. The beer, an on-tap pale ale, wasnt very cold. The food did not taste artificial and was hot and fresh. Our server was NOT friendly and did not exhibit any effort but I heard other servers giving good service. Bus your own tables and order fish counter style- parking is on the street or in a free overflow lot down the way. Napkins should be provided at tables (I know its a "green" establishment but wings are a messy food..). Great ambience and healthy hippie decor!

Scale of 1 -5 (1 being worst rating - 5 being the best rate) Atmosphere: 5 Lively and fun!) Cleanliness: 5 Very clean as I could see. Even in the kitchen which is in view from the dining area.) Menu: 5 (Amazing menu of custom recipes and sauces. The sauces are even available for purchase. Keep in mind it is a bit spendy, but you are paying for the flavor not the food itself. Although the burger with fries combos will be sure to leave you feeling full.) Service: 5 (Amazing staff, very kind and attentive. Will answer any questions you have about their product.) Sustain: Great tasting sauce made in house. Improve: N/A Unique: None of the fries or other products are cooked in the same fryer as they wings. This leaves them with an original uncontaminated taste. Fail: Small area during busy hours makes this popular location hard to find a place to eat. Especially when it is cold outside.

This place doesnt disappoint. The claim to fame is the el jefe wings which are the hottest wings on the menu. I opted for the chicken sandwich with the el jefe sauce. I love the richness of the sauce and flavor. A lot times with hot sauces, to get the extreme heat the flavor is sacrificed. But the el jefe had plenty of both. Also, the chicken was cooked perfectly. Amazing food. The interior of the place is like an explosion of chalk because of the chalkboard menu and diverse murals on the walls. Its not a large place but they do have a large table that was able to sit 10 of us. There are booths and 2 seaters all around to accommodate most parties. Next time I go, Im definitely getting the stand alone wings with the el jefe and challenge my heat tolerance.

Great service! So they accidentally brought us fries when we ordered tots and we really wanted tots. They let us keep the fries and brought us some tasty tots. Everyone at the table enjoyed their food. Its a pretty small and busy place so it seemed popular. They let us try the sauces that go on the wings before we got the wings which is awesome. Also... I uh dipped my tots and fries in the wing sauce when I had finished my wings... It was amazing. I got the Buffalo hot sauce or whatever if that makes a difference. The wings were very tasty, a lot of flavor and dripping with sauce. We really enjoy the boneless wings here. Finally, I bought a mint brownie on my way out the door and did not regret it. It was sooo good. Recommended.
