This place is a m a z i n g. i couldnt possibly gush any further. Oh wait i can. i had the BEST sangria of my life here. the best, hands down. the amount of thought, care, and pride they put in their recipe is remarkable. go take a look at the pitchers being prepared if you can...they actually use a scale to measure out each component perfectly. truly a science, and it shows in the remarkable taste. ive never been a connoisseur of sangria, and its always bee refreshing and satisfying enough -- but this is truly remarkable. on to the food: omgness you can do no wrong with their tapas. good god, the amount of things i tried that were all sensory overload, and nearly equally. its been some time now, but i will try to remember everything we got: Remolacha + Queso Fresco - beet salad. (yum) Nuestras Bravas - potato, milk alioli, brava sauce (omg we all could have eaten a million of these) Croquetas - salt-cod fritters, smoked piquillo alioli (my least fav...but just because im not into the fishiness of it, others liked) Meloso - lamb shoulder, dry peach coulis, catalan beans (might have been the best lamb of my life. i stated it was borderline salty, but no...it was perfectly seasoned and everything worked) veal sliders (i didnt want to like because i dont order veal for personal reasons...but hot damn they are good) Paella Ataula - bomba rice, prawns, cuttlefish, musses, calamari, clams, saffron picada, lobster fumet (yes!!! delicious as well)

Incredible restaurant. I would stick with tapas, cocktails, and small dishes. Be warned about paella. We had the salad, quail egg, chorizo on a stick, and paella. Lastly we also ordered the seasonal dessert, which was a croissant stuffed with sweet cream of chocolate variety. Overall, atmosphere and food were fantastic. Staff was very friendly too. The reason for four stars is because of paella and dessert. It was not excellent and even slightly burnt on large parts of bottom of pan. The seafood paella was flavorful, but aside from burnt areas, i would still rate it average. The meats were indeed quite dry as a result of the overcooking. Price point is high but worth it for good quality ingredients, creative preparation. And mostly delightful flavors. Consistency of the quality across plate preparations was slightly lacking.

I dont normally write reviews but this place is so great I just had to. I used to live in Barcelona and since I moved I had yet to find a really authentic tapas restaurant, much less a really good Catalan one (which is in my opinion the best food in Spain). This restaurant is as authentic as it gets- it is totally traditional, delicious, and accessible. The owner is also totally lovely and always drops by with a small pastry for our toddler. The ambiance is fantastic and it is equally good for a romantic date night or a Sunday morning brunch. If you do go for brunch, be sure to have a xuixo- sort of like a Catalan version of a cream filled donut but infinitely more delicious. Couldnt recommend more highly.

A very very special dining experience. Highlights for us included squid ink paella with grilled octopus, albariño wine, a plate of extremely fine iberico de bellota, which is the best ham in the world, and croquetas made with the bellota trimmings (!!). I lived a year in Spain and this was, hands down, the best Spanish food since then. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and excited to talk about the authentic Spanish dishes. The chef/owner came out from the kitchen towards the end of the evening to greet diners and was even holding the door for us on our way out. Truly classy. Reservations here are a must- dinner will be a most memorable occasion.

Went for the first time last night and the food was amazing. The tapas selection and paella were to die for. Our paella arrived late because our server, who was new at his job, forgot to put the order through - we noticed because people arriving after us got their paellas before us. They were very accommodating and comped our drinks and paella making it very cheap for our first time there. We even met the chef who was extremely friendly and apologetic for what happened. Despite that mishap the servers were extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and the food was AMAZING. Will definitely return!

Jose Chesa is a great chef. The food was great! Nothing was what I expected. Everything was amazing. We were staying in a hotel close by. Decided to eat here based off of its location only. We were glad to discover an absolute gem. Jose is making wonderful choices with his attention to detail and unique approaches to Spanish tapas. Some dishes had subtle Asian influences like the ginger soy aioli or the brioche that was very similar to a steamed bun. Even with a slight fusion, the Spanish flavor took center-stage. Superb!

Worth the trip to NW Portland. We arrived during peak dinner hours on a Wednesday night. Waited for about 10 minutes for a seat which is fine with me and was expected since the time we decided to go to dinner. The dining room is small and cozy, I think it fits about 30 people or so? More importantly the food and atmosphere is above average and worth every penny. Delicious!

Great Spanish food (Tapas) restaurant, their take on Sangria is to die for, the tapas menu has the usual plates, but with a personal touch, so it is not your traditional tapas and is the only place I have found in PDX that serves Bellota(San Fermin), which is true Jamon Iberico Pata Negra. Highly recommended restaurant, nice ambience and top notch service.

Forever on the quest to find traditional Spanish tapas after living and traveling in Spain years ago, I have finally found the place. Beautiful fusion, providing traditional jamón (for a price) and tortilla, croquetas etc. The wine selection was interesting and compact, service was excellent, and ambience was great. Felt like home in upscale Spain.

This is a phenomenal addition, to an already thriving restaurant district in NW Portland! The food is fresh, unique, and of course, delicious. The space is beautiful, the artwork has tons of color and texture and it made me want to hang out there all night. The staff were friendly and well versed on the menu. This is a must for diners in Portland!

Jose Chea has created a true Spanish food paradise downtown Portland. Being from Barcelona, he brings the authentic dishes to life with all the right and intriguing flavours, locally sourced ingredients and a Wowing presentation. Everything we tried succeeded expectations. Service and staff is excellent too ! We will definitely return.

Great food, great service! Authentic; every bite crafted with care. The server took care that the experience was a food adventure for us, from explaining every dish in detail; making recommendations which all were spot on and even taking a dish back when he noticed it had slipped by missing a minor ingredient.

It was pretty decent food for sharing but too expensive and there was no vibe at all. I got tired of the meal halfway through but i wasnt about to throw away a small 13 dollar dish. Needs improvement. Also, the service was nice but lacking knowledge and discipline felt like a bunch of teens running the place.

So I am not really a biscuit and gravy guy but my daughter insisted I go. Then on top of that we sit at the grill after I ordered something eclectic. And I see these piles of crispy hash browns being made into wonderful creations and I did not order that. Man I was disappointed in myself
