This is one of my FAVES in Portland. Not only for the bakery, but also for the mini-deli they have. I like their Vietnamese sandwiches and the options. I specially like the "combo" where you can get coffee and a sandwich for a FANTASTIC price..!!! I also like the baked goods and the availability of French baguettes and Hum Bao at the same time..! Theres always some new special like "Guava Tarts" and other traditional baked goods. They are so good that you can find several of their breads and confections at many supermarkets in town. I visited the other day and had to wait in line.. It was a busy lunch day. I was positively surprised on how the clientele knew their dozen-different titles of sandwiches available and the incredible mix of French, Chinese, Vietnamese specials. Hope you can come to SE Foster and try some of their goodies..~IR

This is one of my favorite less-touted places in Portland. Their pastries, breads, and desserts are comparable if not better than some of the fancier bakeries Ive been to in town, and they have an awesome selection of food for any time of day. Some highlights: One of the best (and only) places to get bao. Their bahn mi are super tasty as well. The fillings are pretty basic, but the bread is to die for. Their pastries are awesome, and they have lots of small treats, which I like because Im one of those people that will eat the entirety of the thing I buy and I prefer to not feel like bloated death after. They have tasty iced coffee to pair with it all, and the best part is that a good meal will rarely break above $5-7. Theyre super nice, and its awesome to be able to support them.

I placed an order cake for fathers day, its suppose to say happy daddy day. I came to pick it up and i senses there was an issue. Most like likely the order was not entered/made. the owner play it smooth gave me a generic cake. Saying oh she fixed the wording because she thought it may have been a mistake, didnt give a big deal at that time. But realized she must have taken me for stupid. The whole thing was just very dishonest. I came from Beaverton to pick it up. She could have just said it was not made and would I mind taking a generic one. I would have been not so upset.

I LOVE this place! Thought I had had good Banh Mi before, but it was nothing compared to this! Their baguettes are so fresh and cooked perfectly. They have a wonderful blend/balance of meat to bread ratio and I really love the seasonings/sauces they put on the sandwiches. I also tried their salad rolls with shrimp as well as Hum Bow. Both are amazing! The salad roll dip was sweet which was great to cool your mouth off after a little spice.

Ask any Vietnamese person where they like to get their catering done and theyll most likely say An Xuyen. Professional, punctual, and consistently tasty, theyve always managed to satisfy me and my family whether it be lunch or a huge catering order. They make the best Vietnamese sandwiches in town, and their pate choux is also the bomb! Come in for lunch and youll walk out with more treats than you had expected.

Delicious banh mi--super cheap, and they have several vegetarian options. They sell lots of baked goods as well, everything from donuts to moon cakes to steamed pork buns. An Xuyen is the perfect place to pick up picnic food and drive to nearby Mt. Tabor for a cheap summer afternoon. Plus, whenever Ive visited, the same young woman is serving, and shes super friendly and efficient.

Alright this place is awesome. Dont be tricked into buying $10.00 banh mi by a white girl named kelly when you could be getting the real deal here for a little over $3.00. Crispy french bread, pickled toppings, tasty caramelized pork belly.. need I say more? Pork bao and avocado shakes were good too. Id give the food 4 stars but the low price makes it an easy 5.

This is one of the best hidden gems on Foster. Well, I dont know how hidden it is; its usually quite busy, and for good reason. The banh mi are perfectly savory and spicy, and the vegetarian options are great. The pastries are hard to resist, and the bread is fresh-baked on site. Oh, and everything is super affordable.

One of my favorite asian bakeries and sandwich shops! They have an iced coffee + sandwich deal for less than 4 bucks. Amazing. Their meat pies are so good too, man theyre delicious! Make sure to call ahead to ensure they are open, ive driven all the way out there to be greeted with a closed sign.

Ive been eating here for years and theyve never changed. Now, that may sound negative, but why change something that works so effing well. They have some of the best tasting food that you can get for under $5. Go here. Do it. Put your phone down. Go get a sandwich.

$3.50 for a Banh Mi (Vietnamese Sandwich) and an Iced Coffee. What a deal! Why you would want an inferior "5 dollar foot long" or $5 starbucks coffee is beyond me.They also provide most of th Asian baked good for all the Asian supermarkets in the Portland Area.

Small bakery and not the cheapest prices around but food quality is excellent. Lemongrass chicken banh mi is delicious; bread is crispy but not dry and meat is very well marinated. Pistachio macarons are large and are perfect in texture and taste.

Great sandwiches and baked goods, their french bread is perfect. Im a big fan of the "veggie meat" banh mi, as well as their lemongrass pork and bao. I used to get sandwiches at the nearby Subway; no more. Theyre better here, and cheaper.

This little bakery supplies Asian baked goods for Asian grocers from Eugene to Bellevue. Also serve bahn mi at good prices. I recommend going early and getting a loaf of milk bread. It makes the best grilled cheese sandwich youll ever try.

Great place for reasonably priced lunch options. More of a to go type place. Theres a small table inside and a couple of picnic benches outside. Some of my favorites are the pork bahn mi, spring rolls, BBQ pork bao and the sesame balls.

Absolutely delicious bread and sandwiches and I loved their lavender tea macaroons. I was going to show pics of both sandwiches but my husband scarfed his before I could finish writing this review! Will definitely come here again.

When it was my 1st birthday, my mom ordered a birthday cake at this bakery. It turned out that the decoration is bad; people in the bakery just rush to get the cake done, not decorate the cake carefully. Never going there again!

My favorite bahn mi restaurant. They are a bakery in addition to a sandwich shop and sell their bread to other local restaurants. Try the bao and the palmiers! Lemongrass chicken is amazing but try all the sandwiches!

Nice neighborhood spot for baked goods. I sometimes wish their baguettes were more dense. Decent binh minh, interesting pastries in the French direction, and sweet and powerful Vietnamese coffee.
