The food was very good. As a previous reviewer wrote, I hope they change how they run the place in terms of making customers stand in line twice: once to order food, and once to pay for it. When ordering food, it might be helpful for the employees to ask, "Who is next?" rather than, "Who is ready to order?" Because of this, 2 separate groups of people, who were a bit rude, got to order ahead of me because I was waiting my turn. Finally I had to then get in another line to pay. A second checker walked up to the the second register and started ringing up people who just got their food, rather than taking those who had been waiting in the original long line. So again, two other people got helped while I waited in line. This could hurt business. I left very frustrated. Either I will return and be prepared to be more assertive than I feel politely comfortable to be, or I dont return. Thats not a good feeling.

I went to Dolce Si as a treat and oh how good a treat it was. I ordered A bigne, a medium coffee gelato a slice of tiramisu, and a 20 ounce coffee. Along with my girlfriends small coffee gelato and a 15% tip it came to about 25 dollars and some change, so quite affordable. Now lets move onto the most important part! The food. Starting with the gelato. Thick, wonderful, the occasional coffee crunch. Perfect on an 85° day. Then I moved onto the tiramisu slice. The supplied plastic cutlery was more than enough to cut into the soft cake. Which was light and sweet, with a mixture of..i think amaretto along with the coffee? The bigne was likewise wonderful. The self served coffee was okay, but overall fell a little short in comparison to the rest of the meal. You add this to a Ruston points quite beautiful scenery on a warm day approaching sundown and you have a wonderful mid walk treat. Would recommend

When Im at Ruston waterfront I usually stop at Dolce Si for a bakery item and coffee of some type. Always a treat. There is also a nice seating area. My only complaint is their gaming card payment checkout. They have the display set up to coerse you to add a generous tip before you sign off. Since when do you signature a debit card? Apperantly the owner chose the card system set up so as to avoid paying employees a sufficient wage. I almost always leave a tip where I get coffee but when I see that type of point of sale extortion, I dont tip. Never. Zero Stars for the divisive checkout and 5 for pasteries.

Every time I tried some thing over there,- dont like the taste cheap and tasteless. Coming back thinking that I picked wrong baker, so I trying again and every time its disappointment. Absolutely cheap whipped cream filled pastry that taste disgusting ... And an other thing that everything incredibly over priced. Way too much. There is nothing that I would like to come and eat over there. Overpriced and very cheap pastry. No more wasting money over there. There is much more great places and with better view.

I dont have a bad word to say about this place. The owner is a very kind lady and always makes me feel welcome. She even gave me some free bread with my soup and it was flavorful all on its own. All of the food is delicious and authentic to its Sicilian roots. Great coffee and EXCELLENT gelato! I also really enjoy the environment and the location. The waterfront in Tacoma is always fun, but Dolce Si really kicks it up a notch and it is a lovely addition to the new Ruston development.

Great pastries and baked goods. Many times there not labeled and your not sure what they are. Also, they have good Gelato and coffee. They dont have an experienced barista so if they are busy you are better off getting drip coffee or youll be waiting for quite a while. I have high hopes for the place. Their products are great, and the location is great but the service and staffing needs some work. Hopefully they get the issues solved before long or customers could give up.

Cappucino without milk, all foam as I like it and feel it should be everywhere. Pastries were sugary, there were gluten free delicacies, and gelato was fantastic. Making the way to order clearer to customers and more efficiently done while maintaining customer service is a must if they want to keep locals returning during the off season. This would be frustrating as an employee and customer if the same scenario happened on a packed, warm summer night.

Baked daily by Italian owner, things are a work of art. Everything is 100% authentic. Friendly owners, as well as staff.BEautiful outdoor seating right on the water. Perfect for a breakfast mimosa, or coffee, and a treat sweet or savory, or real gelato also made fresh daily. Best place in Tacoma quality, price, location. Walk the waterfront and grab some coffee for the walk back- thank you for such a great independently owned place to enjoy.

La proprietaria Elisabetta è simpaticissima e la qualità dei prodotti è ottima, da gustare in unatmosfera informale e amichevole, con la grande possibilità di fare nuove amicizie. Consigliato

Way over-rated! Poor service, the staff look exhausted, the place was dirty, disorganized, garbage was everywhere on the tables which were not clean and even though the building is new there is lots of damage from the chairs all over the walls and has not been repaired. I order a 12 oz cappuccino, now tell me that this cap resembles a 12 ounce drink.

Authentic taste of Italy. Dont expect milk and sugar advertised as " coffee", this is authentic Italy coffee and sweets. Just returned from Italy and this is EXACTLY what it tastes like. Only improvement would be to have the baristas greet customers with a little Italian. Although this is America its fun to experience a little Italy.

The pastries were not worth the price in my opinion. $5+ for a so so canoli. A friend bought me another pastry to take home and it had way too much filling and the mascarpone cheese was so dense and heavy that I couldnt even finish half of it. Was hoping they sold Italian canoli shells or pasta...Nope.

Terrible service. Americans really dontt know how to serve a guest. In Europe you come, sit down and order from the waiter what you want. No tips required. Here in US you have to stand in line, two different lines here to be exact to get ice cream and coffee. And then they ask you for tip. Come on.

If you are in the area of Point Ruston and have a sweet tooth do yourself a favor and go! You can not go wrong with anything there! The prices for desserts are good for the quality and if you are on a date it is cozy extremely tasty so your date will love you for taking them there

Its alright. Pastries were dry and served by unmotivated, not so friendly staff. The barista admitted he didnt do a good job on my cappuccino, but he still served it to me. If youre in the area, its a nice place to stop. But I wouldnt go out of my way to come here.
