Their coffee is great and the atmosphere is cute. They also have extremely delicious pastries, probably the best in town. That said, the fees they charge are outrageous and their customer service is terrible. Even if nobody else is in front of you, it will take at least 5 minutes to get your coffee, and that is a very conservative estimate. Additionally, they charge more fees than banks. Its 40 cents to get an iced drink, even though you get less coffee, so in essence you pay them to get less drink. No other coffee shops do that, and in fact some places give you the larger cup size for the same price to compensate. If you want a white chocolate drink, thats an additional 40 cents . . . a blended drink, that will cost you an additional 80 cents. Dont have enough cash? You will pay 50 cents to use your debit card. If they are really paying 50 cents per debit card transaction, they need to renegotiate their agreement or stop using it all together because thats excessive. Then theres the slow, unfriendly baristas who each charge a different price for the same drink. I will no longer purchase coffee there despite the fact that they make what is by far my favorite coffee drink.

I have been coming to Coffee Cottage for over 15 years, and it has evolved into a business with an inviting, comfortable, and friendly persona. A change in managment over the last couple of years as taken CC to a whole new level with frequently changing weekend menu items, coffee that is roasted on-site (so it is always fresh), employees who genuinely like their jobs, and decor on the walls from local artists and their own staff. I enjoy coming here to work on personal tasks, and their Wi-Fi is always on and fast. It is popular with the locals, and is located next to George Fox University, so it can get quite busy on the weekends and evenings. If there is not room inside to sit, there are great outdoor seating areas. For breakfast this morning, I came to the CC and had lemon ricotta pancakes with a lemon/blackberry topping, and they were absolutely delicious. I have not ever been disappointed with their breakfast or lunch items. And the coffee is something that some Portland roasters ride the coat tails of, IMO. Im not nor have been an employee here; this is just a humble customers opinion.

OK, for those of us who are espresso purists, home machine, etc., lets just talk plain espresso here. Im serious. If you throw away a $3 drink after one sip because it isnt good enough, THESE GUYS HAVE IT DIALED IN. I regularly use every shop or stand in town, and there is no reason to try any longer. About a year ago the CC had a big re-training, and changed some management, and it has made all of the difference in the world. It is intense without being bitter, never watery, better by far than Starbucks, and well worth getting to downtown Newberg. There is no need for a Mocha as the plain latte stands on (towers on) its own. Pungent, warm, rich, soothing and invigorating, both the drive-thru and the restaurant are very consistent right now. The memory of the quality warms you through-out the day....or until the next latte!!! From: The worst coffee snob I know :>

Catering to the locals and the college crowd, the Coffee Cottage is a Newberg staple. Its exterior has a manicured landscape that smells like lavender throughout the summer. The specialty at Coffee Cottage is, of course, coffee. There are several different blends and recipes from which to order. The small business roasts many of its beans on site, and you can smell a burned batch of beans for blocks. The interior of the coffee shop does resemble a cottage and features the work of local artists and the baked goods of a local caterer. You can order just about any coffee-shop drink imaginable and compliment it wish an always-fresh sweet or savory treat.

I absolutely love this place. I just want to really thank you guys today. As a Starbucks batista, I was highly impressed with how fast you two were in the drive thru. I wanted to thank you also for being so friendly at the same time! It really warmed my heart to see people working hard, being friendly, and oh, my, goodness, my gingerbread latte is amazing. Well worth my money and time to keep visiting this place over and over. Keep it up guys! Wish I could give you more stars!

The people are nice just their espresso is trash and overpriced. Paid $3 for a watery double cappuccino that I asked for dry and extra foam. Then when I decided to try their drip coffee they were out so I had to wait five minutes which wouldnt be too bad if I hadnt just had a bland cappuccino. Sorry to give a poor review but I was REALLY DISAPPOINTED IN THAT CAPPUCCINO. Also for only pouring double shots they are the smallest double shots in my life.

DONT GET THE ESPRESSO! Now that Ive said that, this place is AMAZING. They have the best scones, they have a heavenly smoothie/frap selection and the staff are super nice. Its a great spot to meet friends for a chat, has a ton of fun books that feature local authors, and the music selection is a nice mixture of oldies-but-goodies. Try this place out. They rock. Just dont get the espresso. Go to Dutch Bros for that. But everything else is delicious.

We ride our motorcycles out here from Tigard back roads as a wonderful way to have a date. We come to coffee cottage for about a year and just love to get coffee and scones. The best scones Ive ever eaten! The snowdrift is my favorite. The staff is young, hip and friendly. The atmosphere is a cross between a diner and a library. Theres usually different artwork on walls that rotates. Theyve got it going on!

Stopped through passing by. It was a deliberate visit. This was a favorite and a must stop for my late fathers trip to the coast. My decision was not only sentimental, but culinary as well. Great coffee and will now be a tradition for me. On top of that, I would much rather support a small town business with a superior product than a megabucks chain with an inferior product.

One of the single greatest coffee shops in all of Oregon. Vegan & Gluten Free food, fresh real smoothies and bakery goodies. Friendly atmosphere, homy, cozy, quaint, an nice outdoor patio. Great night life shows and open night mics. Great Art, books to read and buy, and friendly staff. Stopped by from Chicago, then visited it several times again while in area.

Coffee Cottage, with its rustic charm and vibrant atmosphere, is a fundamental piece of the Newberg experience. Fair-trade coffees, fresh deli and baked goods, live music events and material from local artists. Its a great place to relax and enjoy a cup of tea. Or you can get together with coworkers/classmates to get things done.

I used to come here all the time when I was on a 6 month internship at a-dec to read or watch educational videos. I was living out of my truck lol so this place gave me a great place where I could spend time learning. The culture was always study friendly and friendly in general. I have so many special memories here!

The prices are a bit higher than other places in town but for all of the effort that they go through to provide their customers with amazing coffee, its worth it. They have an on-site roastery where they roast their hand selected beans from all around the world. Not to mention the baristas are a blast.
