Im sorry to do this publicly, but I couldnt find an email address to send this privately. I have a story to tell about the service at Beaverton Bakery and it goes like this: I visited your bakery about a week ago to purchase some cookies for a gathering I was headed to that day. I had never been to your Beaverton store before, but I was a frequent customer of your Lake Grove location before it closed. Anyway, when I entered, there were about 4 people already there so I waited by the counter. Finally, the last person ahead of me left, but so did the person who had been waiting on them as she want back into the back as soon as the last person left. I was left standing there alone in the shop. A few minutes later, another woman entered the shop and someone came out from the back and called “Number 1”, to which this new woman responded. That’s when I realized I needed a number. (The Lake Grove location did not use numbers.) So I took #2 out of the machine. Again I waited as this woman had ordered a cake and was busy discussing cake things with the girl at the register. Another woman came out from the back and called “Number 1” to which the woman already being helped responded and told this new employee that she was already being waited on. I kind of held up my number, hoping she would move on to #2, but she turned around and went back in the back and never returned. Again I waited. Something was wrong with the cake #1 ordered so it was sent back and she was still waiting for her cake when a third person came out from the back and called “Number 1”. This time I said, “She’s number one. She’s been waited on, how about #2?” She looked puzzled for a moment and then said, “They didn’t change the number yet" and turned to leave, but stopped and then said, "Oh, there, they changed it now.” and she took my number and proveeded to get my order. I ordered three each of four different decorated cookies and I paid and left. It took about 3 minutes. When I got to my destination, I discovered that she had shorted me one cookie (the most expensive one of the batch, I might add). I suspect she was getting even because I had been a bit short with her, but I had apologized when I paid her and tried to explain why I was a little miffed before. The crux of the whole thing is, I will never go back to that bakery again. I know there is a shortage of bakeries in this area, but I don’t much like Beaverton anyway and this place has the rudest employees Ive ever dealt with. Either that or theyre just too stupid to figure out what comes after the number one until some machine tells them. And the fact that they cheated me was really uncalled for. I loved the Beaverton Bakery in Lake Grove, but this "original" one sucks big time!!

Ive ordered cakes from Beaverton Bakery for a decade and have had wonderful experiences with them until I met their owner, Carrieann, today. Im not sure how I lucked out in avoiding her before, but had I met her before, I am sure I would not have been a decade-long customer. I had a question regarding the differences between a "Deco" and "Custom" cake ($7 price differential) as one of the newer employees, Jon, wasnt sure about the differences, but offered me an erroneous explanation anyway: "Custom cakes come with seasonal flowers, and deco cakes only come with 5 flowers or less." The owner came out of her office red-faced and incredibly defensive: "If you dont think our cakes are worth what we charge, you can leave!" Nowhere was I trying to suggest that the cakes were deficient or of low value, I just wanted to understand what I was paying for as the cake I was ordering seemed more expensive than what I had paid in the recent past. She exclaimed that the prices I had been charged in the past were incorrect: "Anytime you want more than seasonal flowers and text, its a custom cake, even if its one paw-print" and seemed to imply that I was trying to rip Beaverton Bakery off by trying to save $7 on a cake. While the owner agreed to give me a price break for "this last time," Jon said that the total would be $33.50 "unless I wanted to back down." What?! Back down from what? I didnt ask to pay less than what was owed and I definitely expect to be treated like a customer and not an opponent of some sort. The last thing I expected was a confrontation from ordering a cake, something I had done 3-4 times a year for a decade. The information that Carrieann provided was what I needed and I am happy to pay the right amount, but I didnt need the offensive attitude from the owner suggesting that I was trying to steal discounts from this longstanding bakery which was my go-to bakery for cakes and cupcakes. I now understand the declining ratings for Beaverton Bakery and will not be returning here. Luckily, a Market of Choice has opened in nearby Cedar Hills and they were able to fulfill my order with a delicious champagne cake without the attitude.

This review is strictly based on the experience I had with the cake ordering process. In the beginning of August I went to order a cake for my sons first birthday. The day I ordered the cake everyone was so helpful and I have no complaints. The cake was to be picked up on August 22nd at noon. We called the bakery on August 22nd hoping to be able to pick up the cake a couple hours early, but the lady on the phone said they were really backed up and confirmed with us the cake would be ready around or after noon. No big deal. After running errands all day in preparation for our sons first birthday party the following day, my husband went to pick up the cake at about 5:45pm. I wasnt with him when this happened. He started texting me and calling me saying they could not find the cake, nor could they find the slip for the order of the cake. Basically, we had no cake, and they didnt know what happened to the slip in order to make the cake. After a while they found the slip and told my husband to wait about half an hour so they can make the cake for us. The taste of the cake was wonderful. However the lack of organization and professionalism is unreal. We had ordered our wedding cake from the bakery 6 years ago and had no issues. I had no reason to believe that I would have any issues, even after reading some of the negative reviews. One thing is certain. I will never ever order for an important event from this bakery. Their product is great, however, as I said, their lack of organization, accountability, management and professionalism has convinced me this is not the kind of headache I need or want when planning an important event. This is an experience I will never forget, even though I really want to. Big fail.

Ill start with the ONLY good thing about Beaverton Bakery... The cake was really tasty. Everything else... HORRIBLE. We ordered our wedding cake and cookies 3 months in advance, like they suggested. We went in and tasted cakes and chose which flavors we liked. We also decided on what we wanted the designs to be on the cake, how we wanted to flowers to be placed, and how we wanted the cookies to be shaped and designed. We were extremely rushed during the entire process and the lady who helped us was very rude. The night before our wedding, they called to say that the cookie order did not have enough details and they may not have enough time to make them, and we put plenty of detail on our order sheet. Now, the day of the wedding.. the cake didnt get delivered to our recpetion until 5 minutes before my husband and I arrived. They delivered a plain white cake. No designs, no flowers, no ribbons, nothing like we ordered. My mom had to run out and get flowers to put on it before we showed up. We even paid extra for them to put the flowers on for us. When we cut the cake, all of the layers were messed up and nothing was in order. I was very disappointed about our cake at our wedding. Beaverton Bakery embarrassed me at my wedding, I would not reccommend getting anything from them. And to top it all off, we didnt even get our money back.
