Three words: Hemp milk Chai. Oh my word. Soooooo good. They make their own Chai mix and they sell it. After trying it (with whatever milk you like or even water!) You will definitely be wanting to grab some! If you have ever been to Insomnia you know that their coffee is some of the best in Hillsboro/Beaverton/Portland area. I would say the closest contender is Stumptown. I recommend going out of your comfort zone and trying the whole menu. I bet you will find a new favorite you didnt even know you would like! The Hillsboro location features live music sometimes (not sure about the orher locs) and the baristas are friendly, prompt, and I would go so far as to call them drink artisans! Writing this review makes me want to go get some Insomnia first thing in the morning!!! ☕

I was assigned to a security detail next to this quaint little coffee place. A nice little oasis that opens at 6 am, and when you been out in the cold unforgiving N.W. weather all night long, you develop a deep appreciation for that. They have a great selection of all your favorites, including fresh local baked goods brought in daily by local area merchants. let me not forget the friendly staff either, as one of the several cute girls that works there was very accommodating in letting me charge my dead cellphone. Not to mention their fast, and friendly service with a genuine smile on their faces.

I meet here with friends to study and to hang out, and its extremely rewarding either way. I highly recommend the chai latte, aztec mocha, and jasmine oolong tea (with a splash of honey for me). A million times better than Starbucks! Even my Starbucks-loving dad enjoys Insomnia coffee, especially the cappuccinos. I havent really tried the food, but the couple of times I did it was pretty good. The service can be a little slow, but dont let that stop you. Theres also live music Friday nights and local art displayed on the walls. Great coffee, great people, great shop altogether.

This place is really good. They have close ties to a local coffee roaster called dapper and wise. At one of their locations the roaster is right next door. The coffee and drinks are always good. I wish they had some more specialty drinks, the ones they have are really good though. They have the best selection of food for a coffee shop. All their pastries are fresh and seem hand made. The portions are legit to. They have really good cinnamon roles and pie on Fridays. They also make killer breakfast sandwiches and paninis. My favorite coffee shop.

Really great coffee and amazing chocolate chip cookies. They also offer yummy kid friendly drinks. I dont go inside much, but the decor is definitely different from your regular old Starbucks. Its worth checking out. I personally use the drive thru most of the time. You can pay with your phone using Android/Apple pay and they make your drink super fast! Also the staff there are spunky and friendly. They make you feel like they actually liked making your drink and that make me like it a little bit more.

Ive been coming here since I was in 7th grade, and it proves to be one of the best hang out spots regardless of age. The coffee is delicious (my go to is a blended black and white mocha with half chocolate whip and half white whip), but theyve also got tea and italian sodas for those that dont care for coffee much. There are some food options too, and I personally like the bagels or coffee cake.. Family friendly with entertainment on occasion, but overall just an amazing coffee shop!

We really like Insomnia, fantastic coffee, good other than coffee drinks, teas for example are fantastic. These guys are an example of a local business that gets it. Great atmosphere, people who ask your name, get to know you instead of parroting some corporate-speak "hows your day going?" Hillsboro could use more establishments like this model business. I wish they were open Sunday, their competition is so dull, and their coffee is so mediocre in comparison.

Generally I love this place, coffee is great and the majority of the staff are excellent with the exception of Natalie who should never be allowed to communicate with customers, extremely rude. I personally avoid the baseline location because of my experience with her. Wish the owners would do something about her bad behavior however they have yet to seem interested in my complaint. The other locations have amazing staff I recommend going there.

I have no idea how I ever drank coffee from anywhere else, and I mean that. Insomnias coffee has a depth and complexity of flavor which is miles beyond anything Ive found in the Portland area. The staff are the friendliest people I have found at any business (they also have great taste in music!), and the atmosphere is great for hanging out or getting work done. Their food is also superb, which does mean it runs out quick, so get in early.

I am from Corvallis and had grown up on the local coffee shops. One of the many disappointing things about living in the Portland area is that there are almost no good coffee shops. The people are friendly, the food is yummi, coffee is fabu, and I love the decorations. It is the only place that I can go to and feel comfortable just hanging out, play a game of chess, or read a book. Its like being home. I refuse to go anywhere else now.

Ive been going there since they opened, and have never had a bad experience there. They have cheap hot chocolates for the kids (with whipped cream AND marshmallows), a variety of drinks for adults, ranging from teas, coffees, chai, frappes and good pastries. Theres live music most weekends, and several times on weekday evenings as well. The wifi is solid, and there are a few places to plug-in to extend your battery life.

Went here two days in a row because it was so good! First day had a bagel sandwich and it tasted great. Matcha latte Id highly recommend. Second day I tried the cinnamon roll and it was perfect. Cinnamon and lightness to the dough. The drip coffee was amazing tasting and they even put steamed milk in if asked. I chose hemp milk (allergy friendly place!!!) And it tasted great. Recommend here for the cinnamon rolls alone.

I really like this place Its well decorated and have good variety and great coffee and I love that Its not Starbucks and the employees are actually nice here. Also in one review where this place was given 3 stars I say dont write a review on a freaking coffee place give it 3 stars and then say oh I dont drink coffee but if I did I would rate higher wow what do u expect its a coffee place says so in the name.

LOVE this Insomnia! The decor is always quirky and changes often, the coffee is great and cheaper than many places, local art is displayed and sold, and board games are available for use. My boyfriend and I had a great time playing scrabble and sipping coffee here. The location is also great for those with kids as there is a soccer field and park right next door. I would reccomend this Insomnia to everyone!

This is a great place to kick back and relax. The coffee is excellent, the food is good (amazing bagels!), and the atmosphere is really nice. They have board games to play, which makes it a nice place to bring the kids as well. Theres also a little stage with occasional live music. If youre in Hillsboro and are looking for a nice coffee shop to hang out at for awhile, this is your place.
