The place has potential for being a real hit. The coffee is really good, you can even buy the beans and have them roast them for you. The pastries are definitely well above average too. That is all I need in a coffee place, so I cannot say much of the salads or sandwiches. However, I cannot go above three stars for several reasons. First, a better job must be done to keep the tables neat and clean: There is really no good reason whatsoever why a customer should sit at a table that has been soiled by whoever sat there before. Second: It is really not that beneficial to have good bread and pastries, if most of the time you are alreday all out of the most popular ones at mid morning. The chocolate chip muffin is the best Ive had in a long time. But its tray is empty, most times. Same thing for the cream cheese turnover or the blueberry muffin, or the plain bagel - were not talking about "exotic" delicacies here: These are the most popular items, you want to make sure your customers find them all day long. Id come in a lot more often, if I trusted they wouldnt disappoint me so often on the above.

Me and my girlfriend went here a few days ago on our anniversary and we had a very unhelpful experience with their employees, first we waited on someone to show up front for a good while, when the guy finally arrived we told him our order very clearly, and that i wanted mine iced, we paid and waited. They ended up making mine hot, which i thought was just a misunderstanding however the guy who took my order didnt seem to care about any of the details when he said to the girl making it what i wanted, (Iced) The girl really seemed like she didnt care what she was doing and missed the iced part. It was a bit frustrating to me since it was a simple ice order and we were the only ones in the cafe, however i looked past it, until i had told her i wanted iced instead of hot, She let out this huge groan and made an AWFULLY mixed iced coffee, We were not happy.

Ava is always there for me. It took me a year to realize they have a community meeting room which I have used. Ask the manager! In Oregon it can be very dreary! Because Ava at the Platform has a lot of South Facing Glass it is a place that even on a rainy day I can go or meet a client at and recharge. The coffee is terrific and they have a roaster and grind fresh beans at the new espresso bar. WiFi is super high speed so be ready to hang! I take my boys and grandson there often and grab real hot chocolate with White, Dark, and Mocha chips whipped in! This is a fun spot and the service and atmosphere is perfect for staging an adventure by jumping on MAX light rail which stops in front of AVA! This is just a really cool spot!

Full disclosure: Im a big fan of the central Beaverton and Cedar Mill locations. I used to live off Barnes Road and visited my local Ava a few times per week. The Orenco Station location, however, leaves something to be desired. The baristas are friendly and well-meaning, but seem largely inexperienced. The café is usually a mess by 10am on the weekends, and they always -always- run out of stuff. And fair warning: Orenco Station is a planned community geared towards pedestrians, cyclists, and those utilizing public transit. Parking during peak hours is... less than ideal.

The location is pretty, but hard to find parking (like, often impossible), it wasnt terribly clean even though it was slow, and the baristas are... new. I hope. My coconut milk cappuccino was pretty awful. They overheated the milk and it tasted bitter. The coconut milk latte was better, but not great, and they took much longer than they should have. Their array of pastries did look inviting, but Im not sure they are worth returning for. Oh, and the whole time we were there, it smelled burnt. It got really bad at one point, and it didnt really go away.

I ordered a sweet matcha and a salted caramel cupcake. The matcha was far more bitter than I was used to, no matter how many pumps of sweetener I put in it afterwards, and the cupcake was only kinda alright. I couldnt bring myself to finish either one, and I largely consider the visit to be a waste of money. I also had trouble being heard by the cashier and had to repeat myself a few times. I dont recommend this place.

Super slow and not so friendly service. I use to come every day in the mornings but then the girl does not work in the mornings now and the service is slow. Today I had to leave without my coffee even though it was paid for because the max was there and I had already waited 10 minutes. I live very close to this location so its convenient but I WONT BE BACK.!!

Drip coffee is not very good equivalent to gas station coffee. Their espresso was slightly better than that. Id rather get it next door. I went here for almost every day for a couple of months when they opened. Havent been back since. Its popular with the people that need to do homework tho.

This Avas location is very spacious and well lit with natural light. In nice weather, the plaza outside is a nice space. Beverages and food are high quality. My favorites are the poppyseed muffin and Iced Dark Chocolate Mocha...made with real dark chocolate chips!

solid coffee, has two small batch roasters on site if you want a custom roast. pastry selection doesnt match some other places, but they make good sandwiches. Sometimes I feel like they could use just a bit more staff.

This place has a great environment. The good is priced at its quality! There is wifi!! It is a great place to meet, and a great place to take your kids. There is a water fountain right across the street!

Everything about this place is the bomb. The drinks are delicious especially the blended ones their coffee is amazing the sweets are okay but not the best nice cafe to sit and relax for a day or study.

Best plain coffee! I even bought a pound of beans to make a cold brew at home. Seriously, while my friends all order lattes and fancier drinks, Im very satisfied with their AVA blend with heavy cream.
