As pointed out by other reviewers, Happy Restaurant is a typical old-style Chinese Restaurant. It has great food at reasonable prices. I always have to have their crab puffs even though they are not on my diet. I noticed some people complained about its condition. I checked, the Countys last inspection score was 95 and it has maintained consistent high scores. You may have noticed, many neighborhood restaurants can be a bit shabby. Most such restaurant owners work long hours and dont make a lot of money. It is extremely expensive to redecorate. If you want bright and shiny, go to McDonalds or Red Robin, but you will be missing out on some great food and the opportunity to help some very hard working, deserving families.

Replacing a 20+yrs favorite! Omg! <3 Read on if you want proof just trust me go here! Definitely a "ma &pa" owned & operated place <3 <3 dining room is simple an clean. Menu is run of the mill BUT THE FLAVOR is every where. Food (even the rice) is fresh! we are not small eaters by any means! Our family of 4 (with one in eat EVERYTHING growth spurt mode) we ordered a 3 person family meal an still, no lie left with a 5lbs doggy bag! We where 1 of 2 families for an hour and a half but this is definitely a neighborhood secret! There was at least 15 people in n out grabbing to go orders!

The last time we had take out there. My sweet and sour ribs tasted like there had been burnt. Along with the sauce. Used to be a good place to eat at. Now I go to "Kwang chows" on 80 th. And Johnsons on creek. Or "Rainbow Dragon" good food , authentic and huge servings. I can never even eat 1/2 of my serving. Sorry "Happys" my my said it was as if you measured serving sizes froze them and zapped them when you needed them. Not me no way. Bye bye for good!

Whenever me and my family think of Chinese food, we think of Happy Restaurant. My family and I have been eating there for over 16 years, and we have never had a bad meal or bad service. The food is a always hot ready to eat in a minimal amount of time, and the friendly staff are always "happy" :) to see you. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Been coming here for 25 years. A little rough around the edges, looks wise? Yeah, so what. How much do I like Happy? Well, I moved to Vancouver a few years ago and couldnt find anything up here that comes close. So, when I want some Chinese food, I drive the 20 minutes South to get some. Yeah, that much.

Excellent food. The kind of place that still smells of stale cigarette smoke even though no one has smoked in it since 2009, cheap wood paneling, heavily accented English; best kind of place for Chinese food. $28 for pork lo mein, fried rice and orange chicken and the bag felt like it weighed 28lbs.

Horrible service. First time that I didnt give a tip (usually tip 20 percent or more!!!!) She had attitude and completely ignored us. We are simple people but I shouldnt have to ask for soup that comes with my meal. Very upset with the service and I will NEVER go back. :(

Food isnt very good and overpriced for what you get. Just go somewhere else. They dont seem to understand what chow mein should be, their chow mein and lo mein are identical. One time I called 15mins before closing time to place an order and they wouldnt even answer.

The combinations are a perfect amount of food for really cheap, no joke it took less than ten minutes for the food to come out. Food is always amazing. Perfect place and perfect food with an amazing price.

Not the most horrible Chinese food Ive ever eaten. Sweet and sour sauce had WAY too much soy sauce. Bit of a musty smell when you walk in. Cleanliness is about a 3 on a scale of 1 to 10. Wont go back.

The worst food weve ever had. Dripping in old smelling grease and even the noodles were mush. I gave them 1 star only because they did help us with paper plates and silverware. DONT GO HERE!!!

A little hole in the wall place. The service was sad & soda cost $1.50 with a charge for refills. Home made food but not to a standard I would recommend to anyone. We will not be returning.
