Employees create and selectively enforce rules. I attempted to enter via the exit/ return because I was heading to the pharmacy. I was nearly to the registers when the woman checking receipts at the door yells loudly "Sir, Sir, you cant enter this way." She rudely directed me back outside. I now had to explain myself to the guy checking memberships at the door because my wife and grandmother have the membership cards. I explained, "Im just getting a prescription." He let me in and kinda seemed puzzled I hadnt just gone in via the exit. Of course dozens of other people have been allowed to enter via the exit and some of them are now in the outrageously long prescription line in front of me. Wow. Nearly an hour later (this prescription was already filled, purely wait time) I finally got my grandmothers prescription. On the way out the same woman who didnt allow me to enter via the exit insisted on looking at the prescription receipt, then un-stapled the bag and looked in the bag. Ive never seen another person with just a prescription get stopped at the exit, and now the bag has been un-stapled and looks like Ive messed with the prescription. That is just one example of a bad experience at this Costco. They also need to monitor people holding spots in the checkout line. My wife and I had a few dozen items to checkout. We got in line behind a woman holding a few items in her hands. Several minutes later a man walks up with an entire pallet of several thousand dollars in merchandise to purchase and walks right in front of us. Turns out the woman holding the few items was his wife, holding his spot in line. Of course every other line is very long now and we are stuck waiting for thousands of dollars in merchandise to be rung up, and get stuck behind the same guy in the exit line to check receipts. What a nightmare once again. Why do I keep going back to this place just for cheap toilet paper. Im letting my membership lapse, goodbye Costco.

The first Costco Ive ever been to that Ive been treated so badly. I came into order glasses (something Ive done at other Costco stores). Ive previously had an eye glasses and contact prescription done at he in store optical. Prescriptions for both contacts and glasses. When I first got there, there was customers taking up the whole aisle of glasses, which wasnt a huge issue but was very frustrating to me. When I finally picked frames and got help I found I brought my older membership card with me and was told that theyd wait for me (which was highly unlikely to me) until I got it. I left my second wallet in my car and it was pouring rain. They told me without my ID Id have to answer all these questions. A few minutes later they hand me a temporary. I was under the impression theyd print me one and could have gone out to my car and gotten my ID if that wasnt the case. Frustrated and slightly over it I go back to the optical to find that they are slammed (as I figured) and pull a number to wait. I eventually get helped and told that they dont have my newest (most accurate prescription on file) and that they can only do my older prescription. I tell them my new prescription hasnt had glasses ordered under it and that the other Costco should have the prescription. They tell me I have to call them and bring it in or have them fax it because she doesnt know about the Costco I speak of. Im done. I dont want to lose my calm so I walk out. I wasted an hour of my time to be told they didnt want to do the work for my service. As a business this effects you not only because you lost business but because a good reputation is needed to be successful. I will not return to this Costco again. I would suggest you to drive the extra few miles to the next Costco over.

COSTCO is a mixed bag. Ive shopped there for twenty years, give or take. Meats are superior. Fresh baked bread was until recently when the ditched a set of successful recipes. But, its liberal return policy doesnt substitute for quality control when it comes to fresh fruits and vegetables: I couldnt find a bag of tangerines that didnt have bruised fruit in it, for the last year, avocados from Mexico, Central and South America all show signs of soil born bacterial disease that makes ripe fruit unpalatable. Costco deliberately shuffles its inventory in the store. Its what it calls the treasure hunt effect that it hopes increases impulse buys or to the "discovery" of hidden new product. For the serious, time starved shopper. its frustrating and off-putting. The same is true for inventory control and decisions which, to the shopper seem quixotic. Even products that have been staples in Costco come and go. Some of us shopped there for the quality as much as for the pricing. If they continue to replace the good brands, or fail to keep vendors honest when it comes to packing and handling, well probably give up the savings and shop elsewhere.

Today Monday afternoon, I had finished shopping at your Clackamas/ I went to my car and loaded my groceries in the trunk of my car. Put the basket on the corner of the curb and left. I was almost hone, when I realized that I didnt have my purse. I also realized that I had left in my basket. So no cell phone, it was in the purse, I headed back to Costco. I checked the parking lot where I had parked, the basket was gone. So I drove the front door, and at that moment one of your employees came out to retrieve baskets, and I guess the look on my face told him something was very wrong. Because, he came to he driver side of the car, and asked me if there was something wrong and could he help me. I explained the situation and he said " dont move, stay right here! He was gone. After about 10 minutes, out he came with my purse. His name was Al, and he certainly made my day. I wanted all of you at Costco, to know what a wonderful employee you have. But you probably already knew that! Thank you all so very much. I wish you all a very Happy Holiday, especially Al! Sincerely, Sally Aul

Enjoyed going here, food area, photos, and eyeglasses have been the highlights of this place. Waiting can be timely, but these places have been through. The parking lot is easy enough to navigate, and the inside of the store is clean. Recently unimpressed with the front end people. They chat amongst themselves about nonrelated-work things before assisting customers. Please help a customer first before continuing your conversation! Highly disappointed in cashier Ethan/guy with an earring/tattoos (?). Found him particularly rude (shouts at helpless customer "We cant do that-SUPERVISOR!" & then ignores them) and always looks annoyed the past couple times I have been there. Hire people who are more considerate and put on a better game face. They can at least make an effort to be patient and helpful.

People in these positions just throw out time estimates that they think people want to hear. I was told my prescription would take 30 minutes and it ended up taking 90. I know it sounds like Im just whining but this is absolutely unacceptable for any business and shows a total lack of care. Being 3X your estimate is unforgivable. The staff was nice enough but just clueless as to the time frame of the real world. I finally just asked the lady if they were working on some other clock I should be aware of. To top it off the pharmacy wasnt even that busy. It was just a random Thursday afternoon. It just really sucked because if I had known it was going to take that long I would have just left and run my other errands and come back. I wish people would just be REALISTIC about time.
