If you lived or spend time in Japan and fell in love with Tokyo street ramen this is the place for you! This is 1 of 2 ramen places in Portland(the other is Afuri, they have a more trendy industrial vibe as apposed to the warm comfort of Ramen Ryoma) where to noodles actually absorb all the nuanced flavors of the broth the way ramen noodles are supposed to. Everywhere else(yes, I I have had ALL THE RAMEN) the broth is good, but the noodles are plain and flavorless. If I could give this place a 6th star just for their noodles, I would. I had the shoyu basic ramen, and it is EXACTLY what I have been looking for since I got back from my last trip to Japan. At first I thought I tasted a bit porkier than it should, but then I realized there was just a layer of extra flavor on the top from the chashu. Once that was mixed in it was like I was back in the basement of 東京駅(I wonder if that shop is still there). I wish I lived closer to Ryoma, so I could go all the time. I also got the gyoza, which were pretty good, their gyoza sauce is legit. One thing I wish they had on their additional topping menu is menma. MMMM menma

Arrived for lunch on Sunday. I ordered spicy ramen with shoyu broth and my wife spicy ramen with miso broth. Of course we also ordered an egg each. The shoyu broth was ok, not much flavor outside of a meaty taste. The miso was far better, strong tasty miso flavor. We ended up mixing our broth to balance it out since my wife thought the miso was too strong. The noodles were similar to top ramen so nothing special. The pork just tasted like boiled meat. It was definitely spicy enough for us. Service was nice and fast. Floors were greasy, especially in the restrooms. Overall ramen was OK not great, good price and portions though. 3.5/5.

We really enjoyed this place. The menu is fairly limited, but this is a good thing: its a ramen place and doesnt try to do everything. The ramen broth is very well done, the noodles were good and had a nice toothsome quality, and the chashu slices were flavorful and generously portioned. The ramen bowls come in three sizes: regular, large and supersize. I had the regular and thought it was plenty! The gyoza werent the best weve ever had but werent too bad. Well definitely be back. Its a nice place for basic, satisfying bowls of ramen.

The first time I came here they forgot to place our order. When I confronted them they apologized but 20 mins later they served a party of 9 instead of expiditing our order (party of 2). Then we saw the manager pick up something off the groung and bus dirty dishes then, without washing his hands, grab our clean food bowls. Needless to say we walked out. We have tried the place 2 more times because everyone rants about the ramen and it is actually very delicious. So I will continue to add a star everytime our service is clean and pleasant.

This is my favorite ramen place! The chashu is so soft and flavorful, the noodles are good and chewy and broth has excellent flavor. Portion sizes are good too. The servers have been attentive and accommodating so far even when it is busy. The only complaint is the egg quality is inconsistent and theres no takenoko. Then I can give it a true 5 star rating but alas google doesnt do half stars. Overall though the ramen is great, one of the best in the area.

From right when I walk through the door Im greeted by a friendly staff, the atmosphere is very laid back. My second time coming back in a week and its a definitely a pleasure coming here. The price point is perfect for the simplicity of the menu and the flavors explode in my mouth. No matter what you order, if you enjoy Ramen you should come and try the new bomb place in town conviently inside uwajimaya. Ill be here again no doubt.

Pleasantly surprised with this ramen place adjacent to Uwajimaya. We were one of the first ones at opening so service was prompt and friendly. I ordered the Miso Ramen that included chasu pork, green onions, and bean sprouts. I added corn. The pork was amazing. Shocked really to find how tender and buttery soft it was. The noodles were perfect for me, a bit chewy. Broth was full flavored and fatty.

Comfortable seating environment, friendly service staff. Not a lot of tables so seating is a bit limited (wait time can be long on busy days). Ingredients were abundant and terrific, especially the pork belly and spicy meats. Soups were delicious although they tend to be slightly on the saltier side to my taste. Definitely a spot I would go several times not get tired of it.

Wonderful small restaurant inside a great store. Got a table right away on Valentines Day for dinner and had a great experience. I ordered the large bowl and I was so full of yummy ramen! Their ramen is homemade and you can definitely tell the difference from other ramen shops. Add extra pork chasyu, you wont regret it. Will be back for sure.

Very popular/busy place. I had to wait for 20 minutes before seating around 2pm on Sunday. The ramen was good!! Broth and noodle were very tasty and their pork belly chashu was amazing!! My 7 years old and 5 years old shared one bowl of ramen and it was perfect amount for them. Ill definitely go back.

This was the first time I had tried good ramen other than what you eat in college. The ramen is AMAZING. The restaurant is more of a takeout place but if youre looking for a great lunch this really was a treat. Also the gyoza is handmade, steamed then pan fried very much a must have.

Twice in the last few months weve driven 15 minutes to go here before shopping at Uwajimaya. Theyve been closed without sufficient warning both times for specious reasons. We wont bother going a third time. Try Kizuki, food is better and THEY STICK TO THEIR POSTED SCHEDULE.

We loved the ramen here up until the day we took my mom after weeks of bragging about how good it is, and she promptly pulled a hair out of her teeth after the first bite. They remade it but, please, invest in some hair nets. Mom is still disgusted.

This is the real deal, not some fusionized wannabe. Large portions, substantial noodles, serious broth, and actual white pepper on the table as things should be. Equal to or better than any Ramen Ive had in Oregon. Location is inside Uwajimaya.

Service was friendly and food was out fast. Healthy generous portions of quality meat and spices. The chef is genuine Japanese and waiters and waitresses strive to keep Japanese culture. Killer spicy ramen is done right. 100% will be sweating.

Very good. Price is a bit high but you are paying to good quality, house made food. They can get busy at lunchtime and may have to wait for a table. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Will be adding this place to the regular rotation.
