I finally made it back to Ramen Santouka! This time, I knew they had won some sort of award a couple of years back for their shio ramen. So I decided to have that. I got there around 6:30p and I was alarmed that there was no one in the place! I hope this is not their usual crowd around this time! I ordered the shio ramen and was served very quickly. The service was great and water was replaced quickly. The ramen came out after a short delay and it was great! It was piping hot - unlike lots of other places. This could be because the shio ramen doesnt have the ajitama egg that other places put in - and sometimes it is cold. In any case, the ramen was piping hot and good! I ordered the large size and it was perfect and delicious. Luckily a couple came in while I was eating; we dont want any of the good ramen places to go under. Come on people - support! I would put Santouka above places like Chefs Ramen, Weliya and (to me) Golden Pork. Its probably better than Manichi as well, but theres something about Manichi that makes me go back. I think the total was $11 not including tip. Im going again for sure!

Ive been to a few of the ramen places around the Seattle area, and Hokkaido is one of my favorites. Youre first greeted by the entire kitchen yelling out a welcome. The atmosphere is nice and quiet, with an open view of the kitchen. Service is great and Ive never had a bad experience. The real star, of course, is the food. Everything Ive ever eaten here is delicious, but my favorite has to be the Tsukemen. I usually get it with gyoza and extra Cha Shu. The Tsukemen has a rich, flavorful broth with great noodles and the Cha Shu tastes like youd expect good Cha Shu to taste like, very robust and savory, with a delicious umami. The gyoza is a great addition to the meal. Few ramen places Ive been to have met my expectations of how a ramen meal should taste. Hokkaido is one of them.

Positive reviews are mostly true: clean interior, tasty food, good service, etc. However, Japanese ramen restaurants in general, Santouka is no exception, are overpriced. Located in affluent old town Bellevue, WA, where local ramen lovers willing to spend a premium pack this cozy joint. Theres not much of a waiting area so hungry customers wait outside in the small but free parking lot. The 3* reflects the value, not the interior, service or food. Starting at $12~bowl of ramen but sides can really jack up the final bill. Come hungry but ready to wait and willing to pay premium.

This is, hands down, the best ramen shop I have been to in the US. There are other reviews comparing it to ramen you would find in Japan and yes, it might have a tough time competing with Japanese restaurants. However, most of the places in the the Seattle area cannot even come close to actual Japanese ramen. I admit, I have not tried all the ramen shops in the area, but I dont feel like I need to after eating here. The ramen itself is amazing and I was also impressed with the sides they offer as well. Everything from the Kaarage to the Takoyaki tasted delicious!

This place is the real deal. I lived in Japan for several years and this food here is super authentic. The spicy versions were too hot for my kids, but I loved them. Luckily, there were plenty of non-spicy options too. We ordered way too much food and ended up taking home the leftovers, but that worked out great for lunch the next day. Its really crowded (yep, the food is that good) so sometimes there is a long line. Reserve ahead or dont wait until your kids are starving to show up. I was so glad we had reservations.

Parking may be difficult at times in front or beside the restaurant, but you may find parking at the nearby Bellevue Park which is a few minutes walk. The ramen and the pork that goes with the ramen is not bad. Service is usually good, but one of the staff were very UNFRIENDLY about changing a toddlers diaper in the back, next to the bathroom. This restaurant does not have any changing tables even though their bathroom has plenty of room to install at least in one of the bathrooms. However, they do have highchairs.

My go to ramen place with hubby. Nice cozy place and food is consistent despite the servers always changing. You can order a smaller or larger size as well as their regular. Water is free but they do charge for tea if you would like to order it. I usually get fully from an regular order of ramen. I see a lot of people get their combos tho. Food is really tasty here would definitely recommend. Parking is a bit difficult at times as they have a small lot of limited parking

Its good, would I drive 20 miles to get it, probably not, but their broth has good body, great flavor, good meat, and perfect noodles. Price is average for Ramen in the area, im still looking for Japanese style ramen restaurants. Cramed seating, self serve water bar, tissue station and affordable eats. Ramen seems to be elevated to sit down class casual dining, looking for the busy working class style Ramen restaurant. If anyone gots insights, ping me.

Service was very below average. Food was okay... Wouldve been better with more meat options. Not everyone eats pork. Was there for 1 hour- 1 1/2 hours Sat with any empty glass for a high majority of the time.... The waitress even looked at all the empty glasses multiple times and did nothing about it. Was very rude when asked questions about the menu items. Overall, not going to this place ever again. Wish I could do less than 1 star!

Have been here at least a dozen times since the day it opened. VERY consistent, and "authentic" as far as Seattle has to offer. They dont mess around with kitschy varietals that you so frequently see elsewhere. There are lots of places that serve "ramen" but if I could only have one, it would be from Santouka. Pricier, but still strong value considering the food, service, and Bellevue :P

There seems to be a ramen boom happening in Bellevue, with this, Jinya, and Kukai. They all seem to kind of fit in different niches, so hopefully all will stay. It kind of feels like Hokkaido Ramen Santouka is a little more expensive than the other options, but the ramen is good, and I appreciate the ability to get a smaller bowl here. The tonkotsu broth is great and deeply flavored.

This has got to be my favorite ramen place in the Seattle-area. Its all about the chashu.. Its not too fatty and has just the right about of char to it. If youre interested in exploring the menu a bit, Id recommend the tsukemen (large pile of noodles dunked in a potent bowl of broth) and the maze-men (no-broth ramen with a slight sticky consistency garnished with a lemon wedge).

The Tsukemen is A-MAZing. The basic ramen was good, but not the best ramen Ive ever had. The Tsukemen made it seem almost bland. We had an infant and they were very accommodating. Our waitress was happy to give recommendations and was good at it. This restaurant is a high recommendation for me, only 4 stars since its not some of the best ramen Ive ever had.
