Today my fiancé and I went to Sweetwaters in Albany as we do each week and had a horrible experience! I ordered the steak and shrimp for $14.95. I ordered the steak medium rare and it came back very very rare! I could hardly cut through it. Took the waitress 15 minutes to check back with us and I told her it was too rare to eat and so she said "Oh yes, that is very rare" and she took it back to the kitchen. 20 minutes later I got a new steak cooked correctly but after eating the potato, 2 pieces of shrimp and salad I was full, I asked her to put it in a to go container to take home. She did. She didnt once say she was sorry or apologize, she acted annoyed! She was not rude, but was not concerned about it either. I went to the register after the lunch and when I was asked how the meal was, I told her the truth. She said, "Oh the manager and owner are here, do you want to talk to them?" I said yes. I NEVER complain about everything, but this was over board! So I did want to talk to someone! The manager, who was very sweet, came to me and ask what happened and I told her, she said "Oh, let me speak with the owner?." So she spoke with them and then came back out and said "The manager said since you had the salad and potato and shrimp, we can only give you a $2 discount". I was so angry and shocked! How rude! She charged us, I gave her the card and left a zero tip, which at 46 years old, I have never ever done and I pointed it out! I told her, that the waitress should have at least apologized! She charged my card and I handed her the steak from the container back and told her I would never be back! What a horrible experience! After they knew we were regular customers an received a bad product and bad service, they offered us $2? Was the steak only $2? NO! I wont ever go back there! Oh, I failed to mention my I got one drink and it was empty before the meal even came, she never asked about a refill! Not once! I paid $13.95 for a one time through salad bar, a baked potato and 2 pieces of shrimp!

I am here for the Western States Horse Expo. Place was clean, staff was great, music was fun country. I really wanted the Pot Roast but found out that all gravy, steak seasonings and prolly more has MSG added. I am allergic and cant sleep when I eat that stuff. I mentioned it to the owner who was hovering around the salad bar and she took it pretty well! I ended up having the steak and a lovely loaded baked potato and was very happy with my dinner. MSG does nothing for flavor, in my book, actually it hides the natural flavors and tastes awful and fake not to mention that some folks, like my Sister end up in the emergency room if they eat it. I am not quite that bad, it acts like caffeien and makes my body itch. I sure hope they join the modern times and cut out that yucky stuff.

The protions are ridiculously overpriced!!! The manager is oblivious to customer service. The waitress lied or is brain washed about food being "home made", the definition isnt taking something out of the bag frozen and putting it into the fryer. The waitress suggested another item from the menu and then charged us extra for it stating "this is all my manager can do." The manager didnt do anything! To manager/owner: If you have a happy customer, they might tell a few of their friends but if you have an upset customer, They Tell EVERYONE. Just thought I would tell you since you didnt seem to know that!!!!

STOP! Turn around and get back in your car. Go to Elmers. Heck, go to McDonalds, at least youll get your moneys worth. Food: bland Staff: people actually work here? Not what I saw. the staff started closing the restaurant 15 minutes before the restaurant actually closes. we were asked if we were done with the salad bar so they can put it away early. To top it off a quote directly from our waitress mouth; " you guys want any more soda before I turn off the machine?" This question was not directed towards any of the 20 customers in the restaurant, it was to the staff. run away quickly...

This was a family favorite for years. We would go at least once a week and my parents would Go more frequently, they loved it! My mom called a week before Mothers Day to see if we could get a reservation for a large group. They took her reservation with no problem. When I got there I was told extremely rudely that it would be a 45 min wait. They said they do not take reservations on holidays and would not honor our reservation. I was shocked and frustrated. My dad is disabled so we could not wait, there was no place to sit. Their rudeness just lost a lot of business, we will not go back.

This was our first time there and we were very pleased. Service was very good and friendly. I had the daily special, which was a Hawaiian Chicken breast and it was great. Nicely grilled, juicy and tasty. The salad bar was fresh, stocked and enjoyably. My wife had the rib eye stake, and raved about it. Our only complaints were that the green beans were just average, and the Chocolate Cream Pie she had was funky tasting and seemed not to be well mixed. They promptly changed it for pecan and she liked that! The pumpkin pie was very tasty. We will be back!

Ignore the complaints below, they must work for another place in town. Sweetwaters is way better than Elmers, Pops, Cheris. Food is as good as my gram used to make, portions are huge. If you cant get full here you truly need to eat less! Waitresses are attentive and courtious, will be my regular stop in Albany from now on. Decor is a little dated, but they do have comfortable padded chairs with arms, easy to sit and talk with friends forever.

Clean, quite. Many over 55 clients, hardworking wait staff, clean comfortable seats, salad bar fresh, 1980 semi homemade style food selection, yet each time we have eaten here if something not quite right they fix it. Nice tasty meat loaf special. Prices are inline with other equivalent dinners in the area yet much cleaner. They make most of there own desserts.

I like to go to sweetwaters but the portions are cheap. Ordered ham cheese omelette it was the size of a very small crepe pretty disappointing for the almost $10 plate that was hash browns toast and this really thin small omelette with toast. Ive noticed some other things that are skimpy but this time it just felt like a cheap over priced breakfast.

I have been going there for years and have no complaints. Their breakfast, lunch, and dinners are great. Their in-house bakery is the place to go for fresh baked pies.The service is exceptional! Casual atmosphere makes for a comfortable experience. Keep up the good work.
