If this would have been my first sushi experience I never ever would eat sushi again. It is not possible to order the food without having a long study on the menu. After approx. 20min discussion with the waiter we have had an idea how it works and ordered. At the end we did not really know what we have ordered. The menu is way too complex and messy. The waitress was good and made the best out of it. Quality of food was really bad. The salty soup, most likely instance, served in a plastic cup was poor. The absolutely no-go was the ketchup served as “special” dip for the fried shrimps. Chop sticks made out of plastic made eating to an exercise. The rice contained too much sugar and broke in half when using the chop sticks. Not sure what kind of skills the guys had preparing the food, but it cannot have anything to do with preparing sushi. The sashimi was too thick sliced, the rolls were eccentric and some of them had too much rice, the others too little. The moment I stopped eating was when I found fishbone in my Nigiri. A few minutes later my friend found a piece of the plastic interlayer from preparing in his roll. We got each a 20$ gift coupon, which has reduced the price to what it has should be for the food we got severed. Pricewise, the restaurant is expensive, qualitywise, not better than a fast food restaurant. The furniture is old and worn. The price does not fit to the rest. I dont mind to pay more for food, but then I expect quality. It is highly recommended to avoid this food experience.

We are sushi fans and we were excited when our daughter found this restaurant in a google search for us. We just got back from Alameda, CA a couple of weeks ago where we ate a lot of sushi at The Sushi House. The sushi was equally as wonderful at Fuji in Tulsa as it was at The Sushi House in Alameda. I love a good crab cake (my husband is not a big fan) and I have been disappointed very often by restaurants that serve crab cakes, however, such was not the case at Fuji. We absolutely loved the crab cakes (even my husband thought they were great), they are spicy, creamy and shaped in a ball. We will definitely go back to Fuji to eat sushi and their wonderful crab cakes! We had the California roll, J-Z roll, and the Ninja roll. The spices on the J-Z roll really make this roll awesome. I only wish that they had the Spicy Scallop roll. It is easier to get there if you turn south on Memorial and turn into the first left drive by the Thai restaurant and go east (a few feet) to the corner by the Bridal shop and turn back north less than half a block and Fuji faces west. Hope that helps, it is definitely worth the trip!

Well, the sushi is pretty good. It can be hard to tell sometimes because they will shrink the portion sizes on you. Now, for those of you whom are concerned, fear not because they do not shrink the prices when they do so. The service can be good, but the norm is poor service. Its frustrating to say all of this because Im someone who enjoys sushi and there are dreadfully few sushi options out there. Maybe they realized that and decided they dont need a good product, just "a" product. Oh, and theyll close when they want. They may still answer the phone, but they will be incredibly rude when they do. So, bottom line... The sushi can be pretty good. If you are going with sashimi, then you will notice the portion sizes changing quite frequently. Plus, you will need to look over the cuts. They will put in some horrible pieces and call them sashimi. Be very wary of call in orders. They dont answer the phone very quickly and they dont take care of you with much speed. I have spent over 15 minutes just waiting to pay. I find myself popping in less and less frequently because of their consistent failures.

We ordered to go and were told it would be 20 minutes. 35 minutes later we are told that they never put in the order.....then she says she needs the order again because actually, she lost it. We are then told it will be made first and should be 12 minutes. 30 minutes later it came out. We asked to speak to a manager, who came and said "what do you think we should do to make that better". I dont know....what do you think you should do? is what I wish I would have said but I didnt. We asked them then to please check the order to ensure it was right since we waited for an hour for it. They didnt, but said they did. The order was wrong. One of the people we were with didnt even eat tonight. Worst experience ever. Also, the sushi was mostly rice....little substance. Worst I have had that wasnt just part of a buffet.

This place is great! Great customer service, fair pricing, great tasting food. I went in at about 8:30 the other day and was unaware that they closed at 9 so I had offered to order togo so they can get ready to close up and they insisted that I sit and dine in. They did not look rushed to get out, they did not rush me out, or rush my food. More people came in even after 9 and they were given great service as well. I went to a Japanese cuisine last week and the lady kept telling everyone who walked in "sorry, we close in 30 minutes" turning them away. It was so rude! I work in retail and I refuse to close my doors until the last customer is out whether they buy something or not. Its common courtesy. They are great! definitely going to go again before I leave Tulsa(:

I decided to visit Fuji on 71st and had the most horrible service!! I came shortly after it had opened, it wasnt busy, and didnt even get enough service to be able to ask for more napkins. There were 4 of us and only received 2. The bathroom was disgusting and obviously hadnt been cleaned from the previous day. I got the wrong order and was overcharged for it. Both issues brought up to our server and both were ignored. Advice: Go to In The Raw where you get better service, ambience, and food for about the same price. I compared when I got home and couldve actually got the same food for less at In The Raw. I couldnt even email Fuji with my comments due to the wrong address listed on their web site.

I cant think of a single Japanese restaurant in Tulsa that has consistantly served as close to authentic Japanese cuisine (granted, it is still American style) for as long as Fuji. I would love for them to create a completely authentic Japanese restaurant, but fear too many Americans are too used to the dumbed down versions. As for sushi... Most places sell you "sushi," but serve you white rice in a roll or nigiri. If you have already lost me, then you dont know what sushi is. So do this. Go to your favorite sushi restaurant and ask how they prepare the rice. Buy a roll to go. Head to Fuji and do the same. Now compare the two rolls and let me know the outcome.
