Stopped in for a late lunch and figured this place was good from all the results but I guess its gone downhill or something. Place looks rough with stained floors (usually a sign of good cooking haha) and the staff was super friendly. Waited a few minutes and our waitress took our order then I finished my drink about 10 minutes later. She came by 30 minutes later to check on us and we were wondering why we didnt have food since they werent busy, turns out they forgot about our order. They scrambled and got our food out then about 10 minutes into our meal I was able to get a refill (after it sitting on the corner of the table and I flagged her down). Now thats roughly 30 minutes for a refill in plain view so obviously we didnt get checked on. Food was good, nothing special like the reviews but it wasnt bad by any stretch. Also they LOAD you up on fries! Overall food is a 4/5 but the staff is a 1 star all day long. They did offer a free dessert to make up for forgetting about our order which is a good gesture but shouldnt have been needed. Buyer BEWARE: CASH ONLY EDIT: I will add the staff was friendly during the entire encounter, not once losing a down home atmosphere. Changed stars to 3 out of 5 because accidents happen.

***BRING CASH!!!*** The locals know this place as Rods not Capricorn Inn. And if you want dive, out of the way, grease pit, you got it! And it is A-Mazing! If you have a group youll have to use the back room through the kitchen and register counter, which is comprised of picnic tables with plastic table clothes over them. But theres an ancient bowling game back there, and an old pac-man game. Theres an old tv set you might have to hit a few times to get to work, but the sound works even if the picture doesnt. Its hours can be kind of sketchy, but its well worth it to stop and see if theyre open, even if they dont look it. The burgers are huge, even the chicken sandwich and they dont skimp on the toppings or the french fries! Its one of the best places to get a great homemade hamburger!

Tried the Rod burger and satisfied, but a little disappointed with the gossip of the best burgers. I feel like Alley 21s are better and either Rods or Cluxton dairy corner is second best that have had locally. I might change my opinion after trying other Capricorn burgers and food. Its certainly better than most fast food and not really more expensive and I think better than Bdubs burgers and it wouldnt surprise me if were better across the board.

Rod Burgers are just as depicted on the photo from Urbanspoon. We got two Rod burgers, onion rings and a beer. Not healthy but truly a unique treat. I uploaded my photos and, yes, the hamburger is for real...not from a professional shot by a food designer. We also got desert, carrot cake and cinnamon bun. They were fresh, homemade and sinful with a generous squeeze of a whipped, cream cheese, buttery tasting icing.

Ordered a chopped steak burger. Took near an hour and half. Meal was not hot.... Wall paper pealing off the wall, table uneven and not stable, flooring seemed to be coming up. Had two people working the kitchen it seemed. Waitress seemed to forget we were there. Not worth the price in my opinion. This was a family event as well. No debit card taken but you can pay to use their atm for a few extra dollars.

Great burgers and great chef salad, nice little diner out in the country, situated closely to Cowan Lake! Their food is good, however, I just tried to place a carry out order, and although their hours say they are open until 9, they would not take my order at 7:50 pm. Thats very dissappointing on a Saturday night!! They are open for another hour and 10 minutes,and wont take my order.

My family and I was skipped multiple times, we waited last 10 minutes before I had to ask for a menu for my family, they never brought us our drinks and after 45 minutes of waiting for our food that never came, my family and I just got up and left. I have never been treated like that in a public place before and Will never be taking my family back there again.

The food was delicious and the portion sizes were more than filling. Just 2 things to note... 1. They only take cash, but have an atm on site. 2. Dont rely on Google for their hours. We went on a Friday evening and according to Google they were open until 9. They actually close at 830 on Fridays and stop taking orders at 8. We got there at 755. Whew!

Capricorn Inn has always offered amazing home cooked meals for a cheap price. It is not a "nice" looking place but when you are there, you can feel the love that goes into the place. I have yet to try one of their meals that I disliked. Try the different sizes of the Rod Burger or one of their massive club sandwiches.

They have good food but it is crazy that you show up an they have closed for a private party at 7:30pm WOW then leave the phone off the hook so it rings busy instead of answering the phone and say we are closed for a party this has happened many times not good for business.

One of the best places noone knows about and if u think u can eat a rod burger go ahead and try it is 1 whole lb of the greatest angus beef cooked to perfection with anything u want on it i suggest to bring help but some ppl have been known to eat it by therself !!!

Portions are huge and food was good but there really isnt anything special about the food. Fries, chicken, fish, etc arent made there they are just prepared there. I will say the cinnamon roll and carrot cake are delicious!

The portions are huge and the price is great. It just sucks that they dont have a better cooling system in place, it gets really hot in there when they are busy during the summer. If that doesnt turn you off then 5 Star!

Went with neighbors to Rods last evening, and had a great time. Casual, pleasant atmosphere with 50s/early 60s music on the jukebox. The Rod Burger is delicious. Bring your appetite and your smiles!

Super cool dive restaurant. If you want to try a good, greasy flattened burger with fresh crinkle cut fries, this is the place. Try the Double Rod (1 lb) or Rod Burger (1/2 lb)
